This is our second time staying at this property, and it was exactly what we needed for our girls weekend. Well stocked kitchen, eclectic style and right on the beach!

Beautiful spot nice and close to the water. We even loved the murals inside. It was a beautiful beach vibe. Enjoyed breakfast at the table watching the whitecaps rolling on the lake. The loading wagons and chairs on the property were a nice unexpected touch!

This property was lovely, grouped together with some other cottages, but we had the best view in my opinion and there was plenty of space for our family of three and would be with a couple more. Everything was quaint and clean and the host provided clear information for check in. We had a perfect weekend.

Fabulous location on the beach. We had a star show on the beach unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Cheeseburger fest was a blast and only a short drive. Would definitely stay there again.

celebrating 46th wedding anniversary

We loved the location and the rental property. The cabin had everything we needed. Our only complaint was it didn't have comfortable seating inside. We're 64 & 65 years old and would have preferred recliner chairs or another couch so we could both lay down and stretch out at the end of a long day of shopping, hiking and kayaking. We had beautiful weather our entire stay. Thank you so much!!

A very quaint cabin right on a beautiful lake Huron beach. Well kept, clean and cozy. Any concerns are responded to via VRBO messaging and promptly addressed. Nightly campfire to meet your friendly neighbors. Loungers available on the beach. Lovely sunsets. Shallow beautiful water, great for kids. Conveniently located between Caseville and Port Austin. Great ice cream shop a half mile away across from Oak Beach. Several mini golf shops within 10 minutes or less. Fireside Inn down the road, great food and pool table, air hockey. Always nice to stop in at Walt's meat market for supplies, delicious hot panini sandwiches and baked goods.

Awesome View

We loved the little cabin closest to the water. Very clean and loved the way it was decorated. Beds were very comfortable. Our only complaint were the people who stayed in the middle house with 12 people in it. They had no respect for those of us who were sleeping at midnight. They woke us up at midnight and continued to be loud for a couple of hours near the campfire pit. We should of said something, but we did not....our own fault. However, we loved everything about the place and will come back.

Amazing for beach loving people & kids!

I loved everything about our stay, except how hot it was in the house, I would bring extension cords next time to run the box fans they provided. The outlets didn’t seem to be in places I needed them to be. I loved how close we were to the beach, the kids and I walked the beach one evening and came across a park with a playground! My kids were 4 & 2.5 years old. I was able to do this trip without my husband who couldn’t get off work to join us. When you park they had yellow wagons to help transport all of your belongings to your house (which was such a blessing as it was just me with two kids who can’t help) but my son was able to pull the wagon which he loved. I was nervous about how the parking was right next to the road (50mph speed limit) with my two toddlers but we managed. Everyone their was so friendly and the sunset and views were amazing. They did have beach toys out for my kids (we brought our own though) and it was nice they had chaise lounges on the beach. I would definitely come again and now I want to buy a beach house right near where the bungalows were. It was a perfect halfway point from port Austin and caseville.

Do NOT recommend! Please read.

This was a really bad experience for our family. We expected a "retreat" as titled, and what we got was a disgusting mess. We walked into an unmade bed, dirty dishes in the sink, toothpicks and tissue paper on the floor, the bathroom rug was dirty and crumbs on the arm chair. Not to mention the place didn't look vacuumed and the bathroom didn't look cleaned. After the initial correction of the dirty start, we found mold on the top of the coffee maker, dirty dishes that were actually PUT AWAY, and a broken light fixture. The dampness and mold in the place really killed my allergies, as well as my sons. The absolute worst part of this place was that the floor tiles in the bathroom were squishy with water coming up everytime you walked in, so you couldn't be in socks. It was really gross. In addition, in attempt to contact someone regarding the bathroom tiles, I got no response...still have not. I'll be contacting VRBO, but obviously, I do not recommend this place-the price is OUTRAGEOUS for what you are getting here.

Thank you for your stay and your review. Glad we could correct the inconvenience of the unit being used before you and your family arrived with in 40 minutes of your arrival. It was our fault we didn't have it cleaned in time, apologies were made. All issues in the bathroom from the sink leaking have been fixed. Damp atmosphere is to be expected at the beach and we take proper precautions for mold. Thank you again for staying! Blessings! Sam

Pros: The location is amazing, right on the beach. A/C was a nice relief during heat waves. The staff that came on property when we had issues was very friendly and thorough. The communication through VRBO with owner was quick & responsive.Cons: Bedding, bugs & property maintenance.The bedding provided was stained & had hairs in it. Was told it was clean but they cannot guarantee it wouldn’t have stains or tears. There were also bugs coming in from somewhere in bedroom & crawling all over one of the beds. As soon as we contacted owner they sent someone out to clean, spray & change bedding. It did not solve issue. I contacted host again to let them know they appeared to be coming through window area as all the windowsills had same tiny bugs crawling around. While I understand it is a beach and there are bugs we’ve been coming to this location for 40 years and I’ve never dealt with bugs in my bed with any previous owners. Property is not well maintained. The landscaping is overgrown and weedy. Had a broken picnic table outside our cottage. The wood swing needed refinishing. Given these owners charge more than double previous I expect to get more than AC in one room for that extra cost. The cosmetic paint changes they did are nice, but even those are fading. I’ve tried this place twice now under current owners because I love location but I cannot justify the cost with low quality.

the beach view was the best thing, the water was clean too. we enjoyed the deck and backyard sitting and the fire pit at night.it only needs someone to get their own cleaning stuff for the restroom and sink if they're going more than 1 night.Cozy house and amazing beach view.Kyle responds to messages fast.
