Three bedroom, two bath spacious ranch style home with open kitchen, living room, and dining area. Features include attached double garage and large furnished screened in porch for relaxing and entertaining. Within walking distance to lake, parks, the historic Surf Ballroom and downtown Clear Lake. Nestled in a quiet family neighborhood, a welcome respite from a busy lifestyle yet close to all amenities. Occasionally you may hear a train in the night. Enjoy a day relaxing watching movies, entertaining in the large screened in porch, or grill a meal outside and enjoy the patio furniture and fire ring. Periodically, hear and see the local pilots practicing maneuvers in their small planes overhead. Top off the day with a fire in the fire ring and relax knowing a quiet night’s sleep awaits you. Everything from hot dogs, hamburgers, Mexican, Italian, and Greek cuisine to American fine dining is just 5 minutes away! Take a cruise on the “Lady of the Lake” , rent a bicycle, or enjoy one of the many public beaches. Do you like live music? Explore the many venues the area has to offer.

Very nice location. Had a great time with plenty of room and amenities.it was very hot so didn't have a chance to enjoy the sunroom. But did use the grill for some steaks and made a nice dinner. We each had our own room and it was nice to have another bathroom downstairs. We are definitely planning to stay here again.

Great Place to Stay

We so enjoy staying in this house. It is well furnished and comfortable. It fit our group perfectly. The host was very nice and prompt in responding to our questions. We plan on staying here next year.

We were very comfortable! The property was nice enough that we felt we were somewhere special but not so fancy we were walking on eggshells. Our 3 days were filled with side trips, birthday parties and fun.

Lake Getaway-Close To Everything

We had a wonderful time in Clear Lake at this property. Hosts were very accomodating and very easy to communicate with. Fantastic location, nice amenities and large back screen porch was awesome! We hope to return soon!

Lakeside tranquility

Very nice property. The screened in porch is a nice place for all to hang out. Big kitchen. Having the smart TV is nice for viewing options. Fairly easy walk to city beach. All in all a great spot for being by the lake.

A quiet rest

Loved the screen porch. Kitchen well stocked with everything I needed to cook for a week's stay. Communication with homeowner was nearly instantaneous. Immaculate.

Celebrate family

My sister, husband and I came to celebrate our elderly mother’s birthday. We found the house was the size we needed with the 2 bathrooms. At first we were a little concerned with the second bathroom in the basement, but it worked out fine. The dishwasher was a huge plus for us, and we enjoyed having the island to prepare meals. My husband was able to do a load of laundry, which made him happy! The home was comfortable, and the location was close to our mother’s. It’s also walkable to the surf, and downtown for some exercise. The neighborhood was quiet except for the occasional train, which we found nostalgic rather than unpleasant. 😊

The house was perfect for our stay. Was a short drive to downtown and the house had all the appliances, dishes, etc. that we needed. Had a very comfortable atmosphere. The owners were very prompt with responding to any questions we had. Would recommend staying here.

Lake house

Place was perfect. Carols communication as good as it gets. The enclosed porch is better than the pictures show. Would rent again for sure. Watching a Hawkeyes game on that porch in the fall would be great. We were able to get to and from the carnival/city beach in 5 minutes.

Clean, good location and great communication!

Property was great! Very clean and well stocked. Carol was great at answering questions and we were close to downtown easy access to everywhere. The weather was not great while we were there so we stayed home and played games on the screened in porch. Would have loved to have basics TV channels ABC, NBC and CBS. I would highly recommend!

Nice place

Peppery was clean and tidy. Am older home but was very clean and was as advertised. Couldn’t get the tv in the master to work. I might suggest a roku in there. Had a great time for car show weekend. The garage was super helpful to store the classic cars.

Great house for small group

This is a comfortable house! The huge screened in back porch was so great. We watched fireflies, without the mosquitoes. The three bedrooms were perfect for our group. The kitchen is well stocked. The house is located just off North Shore Dr, close to the golf course. Fareway grocery store is close on highway.

Larry and Carol Prescott are life long residents of North Iowa. Larry is a retired farmer and Carol is a retired office manager. Larry is a home body and Carol likes to travel. We both love to spend time with friends and family in Clear Lake. We enjoy boating, bike riding, walking, eating out and listening to live music. We have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren. We are blessed! Our life is full!

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We bought this property as a getaway from farm life, especially in the Winter, and extra space for family gatherings. We love being on the farm North of Ventura in the Spring, Summer, and Fall so decided to “share” our Lakehouse Happy Place with others. We love the quiet kid friendly neighborhood, the short walk to park with our dog Khloe, the convenience of being so close to what’s going on in Clear Lake. Someday it may make sense to move off the farm and we will have a house we love in town.

We love the architectural design of the windows in the living room which lets in lots of light year round. The windows match others homes in the North Shore and Shorewood Hills area too which is a nice community connection. We love, love, love the large screened in porch! It’s such a nice relaxing space to gather and enjoy fresh area without being bothered by bugs. It’s nice for kids and pets to have a large area to frolic and play.
