The Enchanted Cottage in Wilmington, NC is your home away from home where the whole family can relax, unwind & have fun.

We created this space with special thought for families with children. Throughout the home, you'll see thoughtful touches that will help make your stay that little bit more special and comfortable. Our pride of the home is The Enchanted Forest bedroom, a creative & immersive themed room your children will love sleeping and spending time in. Children are invited to embark upon The Enchanted Quest - where they will search around the home for friends that have strayed from The Enchanted Forest. We have also equipped the home with children's toys, books and family games. The fenced-in backyard is a family-friendly oasis that features a fire pit, outdoor patio and playset.

Our cozy, farmhouse-style single-story home is located in a quiet neighborhood on a cul de sac. Centrally located in Wilmington, NC, The Enchanted Cottage is just a 15-minute drive to Wrightsville Beach & Historic Downtown Wilmington. Ample grocery, shopping, and dining are all within a few minutes drive.

• As a convenience for families, we provide 2 Pack n Plays and a Cosco folding high chair.

• We have a few beach accessories available for guest use, including beach chairs, umbrellas, and a cart. We do not provide beach towels, please be sure to bring your own.

• Unfortunately, we do not provide wood for the Fire Pit, nor charcoal for the grill. Although there may be leftovers from previous guests, please plan accordingly.

• Please note there is one exterior camera capturing video & audio 24/7 facing the front entrance for security purposes

• The bunk beds have a 160 lb weight limit & designed for children use only

Great stay!

The Enchanted Cottage was a clean and comfortable place to stay in a great location with easy access to downtown and the beaches. The hosts were very quick with communication and really did a great job making sure the home has everything you can possibly need. Highly recommended!

Perfect Family Home

Exactly as described, cute safe area, stay was 45 days, so it was fantastic. Fully stocked and we will be back, nothing bad to say at all.

Truly "Enchanted"

On our second visit, The Cottage is once again beautiful, clean, and well stocked, including snacks, water, and coffee supplied by the Owners. It's in the perfect location for restaurants and shopping. We look forward to staying at "The Enchanted Cottage" anytime we're in Wilmington.

Beautiful Cottage

My sister and I enjoyed our stay at The Enchanted Cottage. It is beautifully decorated and well stocked for a family get away. It's in a nice neighborhood but still close enough to the grocery store and restaurants. We hope to visit again!!

Great house!

This house was very clean and perfect for people with kids. The kids loved the kids room, the scavenger hunt and the swing set outside. There was lots of space and the owners were very communicative and responsive. We will definitely be back!

Great family get away

This is the perfect place for families with young children to stay! The scavenger hunt was a lot of fun, and a lot harder than I expected. My 3 year old hasn’t stopped talking about it since we left. The property was well-stocked and well cared for. We were easily able to cook meals in the kitchen and I honestly felt like I overpacked for my toddler for the first time ever since they have just about everything you could need—a toddler potty seat, bath toys, books, toys, games, etc. The backyard was incredibly cute and my son really loved the jungle gym. The neighborhood is great, very quiet and it’s easy to get to downtown Wilmington and Carolina Beach. Owners were quick to respond to any questions and great about checking in during our stay to see if we needed anything. Checking in was incredibly easy. The only thing I didn’t really like about the property was the mattresses. They are *very* firm, but that all boils down to personal preference (I just happen to prefer soft mattresses).

Exceeded Expectations In All Regards

My family and I (husband, 3-year-old son) stayed at the Enchanted Cottage for 8 nights and the experience was absolutely perfect. We immediately felt at home upon entering the property, and the host accounted for absolutely everything during our stay. The home was spotless, there were snacks available upon entry, and the special touches to make this place kid friendly were so appreciated by both my husband and I, but especially my son. The location was central to everything we needed to access, including the surrounding beaches and shopping areas, as well as historic downtown Wilmington. The neighborhood was quiet and easy to navigate. The hosts were accessible and communicated well, but also gave us welcome space and privacy during our stay. I can't say enough about the ameneties, the home was stocked with guests in mind and everything was clearly labeled and incredibly comfortable, down to the oversized fleece blankets (that I purchased online while staying there!). Lastly, I did work remotely during our stay and the internet access was fast and reliable (no lag or downtime on video calls)--an absolute must! If we return to Wilmington in the future, we will absolutely be repeating our stay! Thank you!

Perfect family getaway

The Enchanted Cottage was a perfect family getaway for us and our children. The house is minutes from everything in a well-kept and quiet neighborhood, comfortably appointed, with exceptional attention to detail. Upon entering the home, it is immediately apparent the hosts put in a great deal of effort to accommodate vacationers with children. Ours thoroughly enjoyed the scavenger hunt and puzzle (one of ours wanted to do it twice). The collapsible highchair was perfect for our youngest. Rooms and beds were comfortable, the sheets and pillows clean (we personally appreciated the rain shower head and river pebble floor in the master bath shower). Our children loved the treehouse room, and adored the idea of sleeping in the bunks, which were more than adequately sized for their ages. The kitchenware included everything we needed, including children’s utensils, plates, etc. There was even sufficient barware for mixing evening cocktails. The hosts graciously provide a number of beach items, from wagon to body boards, making our packing easier. The fire pit in the backyard is very nice, and perfect for s’mores (even in the hot August evening). The yard was bigger than we expected, and the children enjoyed playing cornhole (another graciously provided accommodation). Our children haven’t stopped talking about “the beach house”, and are already talking us into a return trip. If you are planning a trip to Wilmington, especially with young children, you won’t find a better property!

Better than the photos

This place was the most comfortable rental we've stayed at! The hosts thought of every detail! Extra things, like a charging station, bath toys, and beach equipment, made our family vacation smooth. We loved making s'mores around the fire, watching the kids play on the playground, and prepping dinner in the spacious, fully equipped kitchen. The kids loved the enchanted quest! The neighborhood is quiet and the neighbors we met are friendly. We highly recommend this place!

Perfect Long Weekend Getaway with the Kids

My husband, 2 kids (4-year-old/6-year-old), mother, and I stayed for a long weekend at the “Enchanted Cottage.” What you see in the photos is exactly what you’ll get. This really is a home away from home. It has everything you could possibly need – even a pack and play and a high chair. From the coffee bar, to the charging station, and even an online website full of recommended eats and activity - you can tell the owners put a lot of thought and care into their home and to make guest feel comfortable. The house was beautifully decorated (you won’t see any IKEA furniture here) and they had good quality kitchenware (not those flimsy ones from the Dollar Tree). My kids absolutely went nuts in the kid’s bedroom. They loved that room so much. The owners had a scavenger treasure game – which my kids eagerly did. The playground in the backyard is a great addition for the children as the parents can enjoy the firepit and patio area while utilizing the grill. The home is centrally located where you can sample everything that Wilmington has to offer. You can easily drive to the Riverwalk, Wrightsville Beach, or Carolina Beach. Right by the place, there is Lewis Strawberry Nursery where can pick strawberries. My kids really enjoyed doing that and be sure to try their ice cream! Overall we had a lovely stay and appreciated how this home catered to families with kids.

Hi! Thanks for stopping by. We are your hosts, the Nguyen family. As Raleigh residents, we love to vacation on the North Carolina coast as a family. We have stayed at some lovely homes during our trips but often felt they weren't necessarily set up with children in mind. Having young children ourselves, we often said, 'this place would be even better if they offer x, y or z'. So we decided to offer a solution to other families like us. Our goal is to provide a comfortable home with a little bit of special sprinkled in. We have put a great deal of thought and love into creating a comfortable and enjoyable family escape for our guests, one that we as a family ourselves would enjoy and want to come back to.

After visiting Wilmington a few times, our family really enjoyed the beautiful beaches and the activities available for families. We decided to purchase a home in Wilmington so that we could spend more time in this lovely coastal town.
