Be Happy Beach House is a five minute walk from Hawk's Nest Beach!

**4th of July 2026 will be a two week stay from 6/27/26-7/11/26** New England beach house charm meets modern comfort and convenience! The kitchen is well-stocked with everything you might need to cook at home, including a gas range, Instant Pot, and Keurig. Warm summer evenings invite cookouts on the grill and meals on the patio. With access to the private Hawk's Nest Beach just a five minute walk away, you'll be able to soak up the sun from a lounge chair, swim in the gentle waves of the Long Island Sound and search for seashells along a private and pristine section of shoreline in Old Lyme.

Rinse the sand off in the backyard outdoor shower, share family meals on the spacious deck and wave to neighbors from the Adirondack chairs on the front porch. Lasting memories are just waiting to be made at Be Happy!

Felt right at home as soon as we walked through the door…beautiful.

The house and property were immaculate. The kitchen was very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable. It is in a very nice neighborhood very close to the beach. Brad and Hillary were very helpful with suggesting local attractions and places to eat. Our family of six thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent there. The games and toys kept our two and six year old busy. We had such a wonderful week and hope to be back again.

Spotless, updated, comfortable home close to beach!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was spotless, the beds were comfortable, the host was responsive and helpful. The decor was beachy but also modern. Very helpful extras included coffee, beach chairs and towels and a wagon to carry everything to the beach. We loved the house and would definitely stay again.

Worth the few minutes walk

This was our third year staying at the Be Happy Beach House and we couldn't be happier (except if it was situated directly on the beach). The home is well-kept and clean, well-equipped with many needs including an array of coffee pods! and accommodated 6 adults +2 infants comfortably. Really a great place!

Great stay at the Be Happy Beach House

Our family of 5 absolutely loved everything about the Be Happy house. The house was exactly as described and came with everything we needed to be comfortable for 2 weeks. Communication was excellent. We look forward to staying again.

Be Happy is the perfect name!

We were a group of 4 women friends celebrating 50 years of friendship for a getaway weekend. House was perfect spot to relax.the neighborhood is lovely & quiet with a private beach we truly enjoyed. Lots of great restaurants nearby with gluten free options, we recommend Breakwater, Il Pomodoro & Hangry Goose. Cute towns to explore Stonington , Old Saybrook, Old Lyme with shops & museums. The owner is very responsive way to message & check in is a breeze. You will definitely BeHappy at this VRBO!

Beautiful home!

This was probably the most well equipped rental we’ve stayed in, literally had everything we needed and more! House is beautifully decorated, beds were comfy, and plenty of space to spread out and relax. Good sized beach, nice and clean, a bit of a walk to get there but no hills and easy enough with the wagon that was on site. Water was shallow, kids loved walking out to the dock at low tide. The owners were very responsive and helpful. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous home!

Beautiful quiet beach escape!

Visited for Memorial Day weekend. Neighborhood is VERY quiet - wouldn’t believe we were a quick walk from the beach with how relaxing it was outdoors. The layout of the home gives space to spread out and enjoy some downtime. Owners very responsive and helpful. Hope to be back again!

Sisters-in-Law Getaway

As sisters-in-law, we getaway for a weekend every year, and this year chose The Be Happy Beach House in Old Lyme, CT. We were so glad we did! The owners were very friendly and responsive, making for a relaxing and pleasant experience. The house is charmingly decorated, and ideal for relaxing and having long chats. It is also clean, well-stocked, and is just a short walk to the beach. We enjoyed walking through the neighborhood of lovely, well cared for homes, as well as leisurely walks in the beach. There was plenty to see in Old Lyme, as well as in Old Saybrook. We all highly recommend The Be Happy Beach House.

Great time

We had a great time. The house has absolutely everything you need. 4 adults and 2 kids - there is plenty of space to spend time inside on a rainy day. Nice deck and outdoor shower in a backyard. There is also a front porch with comfy Adirondack chairs. House is very clean and beds are comfortable. Short walk to a beautiful beach and a great neighborhood. Communication with Hillary and Brad was great, friendly and prompt. We would highly recommend this house

This place is perfect!

We had such a fantastic week staying at the Be Happy Beach House! The cottage was very clean and very spacious! So charming! We loved walking down to the beach every day and heading to Garvin's to get ice cream every day! Great vacation home for a family with children or a weekend getaway with friends.

Great place for the family

Lovely stay here with our young family. The short walk to the beautiful private beach was convenient. The well kept backyard was just big enough to have a pass and let the kids get their energy out. The neighborhood was very friendly; something appreciated by a family with energetic little boys.

Lovely stay at the Be Happy Beach House!

I would definately recommend! We very much enjoyed our weekend stay. The home is beautifully decorated with cheery beach/coastal decor. It is located on a quaint street that is just a few minutes walk to the beach. The kitchen and bathrooms had everything we needed and the beds and pillows were super comfortable. The owners were super to deal with and very helpful and responsive to answer any questions. It was overall a 5 star stay for our family. :)

Beautiful, comfortable home!

Staying here truly felt like home. It was comfortable, cozy, had great decor and it was fully stocked. The neighbors were very friendly and it was close to the most amazing sunsets on beaches with so many shells! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back!

So Relaxing

We enjoyed a very relaxing week with family in this very well equipped cottage located in a delightful neighborhood near the beach in Old Lyme. The cottage has all the tools and amenities you might need for cooking/ sharing meals. There are two TVs as well as games and puzzles. Having two full bathrooms was a plus. Washer and dryer are full size. The beach is a short walk and walking around the neighborhood is a delight.

Long Weekend Stay

We had a wonderful weekend, and that is partially attributed to the fact that our house was wonderful. It was close to a pretty beach, that had lots of shells. The house was very clean and had everything we needed. The owners were very responsive, and had everything that we needed to know clear and concise. We will definitely keep this house at the top of our list.

Great place!

The Be Happy house is great - the house was clean upon arrival. We comfortably fit six adults for a week. The beach was close enough to walk to (about a 7 minute walk). We had a great time and will most likely be back next year!

Brad grew up on the Connecticut shoreline and met Hillary soon after college (go Huskies!). They love bringing their young family back to enjoy the beauty of the Long Island Sound during all seasons of the year -- summertime is always a favorite, but the serenity of the wintertime beaches draws them back time and time again! Hawk's Nest has drawn families to the area for generations -- one trip to the shoreline and you'll see why it's a beloved destination. You'll see kids playing wiffleball on the sand, swimming to the swim dock and heading to Garvin's Store for a slushie!
