Seagate was a wonderful experience for my whole family. House is spacious, very cool, and a short walk to the beach. It was the perfect beach getaway!

Everything was perfect for our week-long stay at Sea Gate. The home was spacious with many nooks throughout. Kids loved the attic room for sleep, play, and escape. The house was well stocked upon arrival with all the necessities. The host was immediately responsive with the few questions we had. The location was perfect, just a block to the beach and a couple blocks to the dining and shopping area of Cape Charles. The gated back yard allowed our pup some freedom to sniff and roam. We loved the front porch in the evenings. We honestly loved the home and Cape Charles as a whole. We will be back!

Amazing place!

Excellent location so close to the beach. Our family of 9 adults and 3 children had a wonderful stay at this gorgeous old home. Our family loved the huge front porch and that every bedroom had its own bathroom. I highly recommend this beach house!

Perfect spot for a multi-generational trip

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house was the ideal location for our group of 10 including 2 grandparents and 2 families of four with kids aged 10-13. We loved that everyone had their own space and the proximity to the beach and Main street was ideal! Would definitely rent again.

The house is large, accommodating, and close to the beach. has an amazing kids room that can easily sleep 4 kids if not more with games and space.

Stunning, spacious property -- excellent for groups with great rooms and bathrooms for all.

This is such an amazing home! So many charming rooms, and so much space for a group of adults to stay together, while also having plenty of space to themselves. It is short, delightful walk to the beach and also to the main street, which is filled with delightful shops. The host is a great communicator. This will likely become an annual outing for us.

Perfect family vacation

The house was perfect, even better than what was shown online. Kitchen was stocked with everything you need to cook anything! Kids loved their attic getaway from the adults in the house! We had our pets with us and the fenced backyard was perfect! A quick walk to beach and town all added up to a great family vacation! Thank you so much!!!

Family trip 2023

Property had a great location and was clean. We loved the proximity to the beach, the kids loved the third floor. Queen beds on second floor could use better mattresses and or bed frames as they were wobbly and not real comfortable. Shower heads were a bit low for the adults. We enjoyed our stay though and would come back to this house again.

The location is also perfect as it’s close to the beach and close to the downtown area. We’re looking forward to our visit next year!

Needs Attention/Cleaning

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third summer renting through Blue Heron, and while we've had positive experiences in the past, we were disappointed with this particular property. Cape Charles homes are older, and that's the charm of staying in the area, but the cleanliness of the house fell well below expectations.The home is in need of a thorough deep clean. There was noticeable dust, the floors and carpets needed vacuuming, and the overall condition made it difficult to feel comfortable. The house is also filled with a significant amount of decorative items and oversized furniture, making several of the rooms feel cluttered and less functional than they could be.Families with young children should also know that we didn't find the home especially kid-friendly due to the layout and abundance of fragile décor. The upstairs bonus room/kids room has wood floors that are splintering and unsafe for little bare feet.The outdoor shower hose off area created a mud pit and attracted mosquitos, making it impossible to clean off after the beach. The kids were dirtier with mud than sand!The location is excellent—an easy walk to both the beach and town. We also appreciated that each bedroom had its own private toilet, even though the bathrooms themselves were quite small(and dingy).Unfortunately, the condition of the home put a damper on what should have been a relaxing vacation. With a deep cleaning, decluttering, and some updates, this property could be much more enjoyable. As it stands, we would not choose to stay here again or recommend it to others.Property managers were lovely to work with and I'll note that we did not bring up our issues to them during our stay.

Great place for small families

The house is quirky and charming in old house fashion, BUT it is not large family friendly. Our group of 8 found only one spot where we all could gather -- around the dining room table. Also, need to change promotional pix: Sleep couch not there, and much of the furniture is different. A few changes -- get rid of unusable grand piano and organ and replace with comfy chairs!
