The Skylight Ski Lodge is the perfect Vermont getaway.
Located just off VT-Route 30 outside Manchester Center, the Lodge places you within 35 minutes of several premier ski destinations, including Stratton, Bromley, and Okemo. Winter adventurers will also appreciate direct access to the VAST snowmobile trail system and the surrounding beauty of the Green Mountains.

After a day outdoors, return to the comfort of the Lodge, where two expansive great rooms with impressive native stone fireplaces and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen invite you to relax, refuel, and reconnect.

About Skylight Ski Lodge

Originally built in 1950, Skylight Ski Lodge operated as a beloved Vermont inn from 1952 to 2002. In its heyday, Ski Magazine (February 1977) noted, “Most of the serious skiers who frequent the Skylight Lodge wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.”

Today, the Lodge has been thoughtfully renovated to honor its storied past while offering modern comfort and amenities. Exceptional craftsmanship is evident throughout—from maple trees milled on-site for trim and flooring to the two grand great rooms anchored by massive, wood-burning stone fireplaces.

Skylight Ski Lodge continues to welcome guests with the same spirit of warmth, adventure, and connection that has defined it for generations—a timeless Vermont retreat where memories are made year after year.

The Space

Guests enjoy exclusive access to the entire home—it’s all yours during your stay. With seven bedrooms, two spacious great rooms, and ample indoor and outdoor gathering spaces, the Lodge is perfectly suited for large families, groups, and reunions.

Unwind by the outdoor fire pit under the stars or enjoy the scenic pond on the property. Please note that swimming in summer and skating in winter are at your own risk.

Guest Access & Support

The Lodge offers private, self check-in via a smart lock, with detailed arrival instructions provided prior to check-in. While we don’t live on-site, our local property manager is nearby and available if needed. We’re also just a message away and happy to assist with anything from house questions to local dining and activity recommendations.

Good to Know

Skylight Ski Lodge is a private mountain retreat designed for relaxation and connection. The home operates on a septic system, so we kindly ask guests to be mindful of water usage.

Winter travelers should plan for snowy conditions—4WD or AWD vehicles are strongly recommended. A starter bundle of firewood is provided, and we’ll share details on local firewood purchase options before arrival.

For ski and snowboard guests, we’ve partnered with Ski Butlers for convenient in-home equipment delivery and fittings. A detailed house guide will be sent prior to check-in to help you settle in with ease.

Our goal is simple: arrive, unwind, and enjoy everything Vermont—and Skylight Ski Lodge—has to offer.

Great Space, No Matter the Weather

The name might suggest a house full of skylights (spoiler: there aren’t any), it wasn’t a dealbreaker for us.The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped—we were able to prepare and enjoy multiple sit-down dinners for 17 people using both the kitchen and the adjacent dining area.The great room is a fantastic space for adults to relax, featuring a cozy fireplace and plenty of comfortable seating. It was also helpful to have a separate living room with a TV, board games, and lots of room for the kids to play.The yard is large, with a great deck, ample space for lawn games, and a nice fire pit for evening hangouts.The Wi-Fi worked well, and expected linens and supplies were ample. One note: the bedrooms don’t have curtains or blinds, so consider bringing a sleep mask if you’re sensitive to early morning light. That said, the beds were very comfortable, and everyone slept well.

Family Reunion

We enjoyed skylight lodge. We get together with family and friends each year to do an annual fundraising event. The house was perfect for our group. The big fireplace was a great way to relax after a day of skiing or snowshoeing.

Annual Friends and Family Ski Vacation

We had a great trip even though the weather did not cooperate. The home was just right for a group our size with plenty of extra room to spread out and relax. We loved the charm and feel of an old inn and close proximity to the mountain, town and shopping. Owners were very responsive and receptive to feedback. Would love to stay again.

Early March 2024

My family and I had a great stay at the Skylight Lodge. It is very different from other rentals, being a former inn. There is plenty of space for a big group and the two master suites are great. The fireplace in the main room is like something out of game of thrones, and was the highlight of the trip for the adults. The kids spent most of the time playing games in the second living room on the first floor. The house is also very conveniently located near Manchester. We would definitely come back.

Comfy family ski lodge

Loved our stay at the lodge. Perfect for five families with children of varying ages. Roomy, clean, amenities galore. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen and great room with fireplace. Hosts were super-communicative.

The perfect ski trip getaway

My group of friends has been taking an annual ski trip in Vermont for over a decade now. We're tried a few different properties and the Skylight Ski Lodge instantly vaulted to the top of our list. The location is incredibly convenient, the layout is perfect, and the vibes are charming. The hosts advertise things exactly as they are and communicate clearly!

Beautiful Home!

The house and surrounding area was beautiful, clean and well-maintained. They provided toiletries and other nice extras. The kitchen was spacious and there were so many places for a large family to gather both inside and outside. The owners were helpful and responsive. If we come to this area again, we will definitely stay at this house. Was a perfect weekend!

Great stay

This house was a terrific place for our family and friends to stay during our annual ski week in VT. The location to the slopes was great--so close to Bromley and Stratton! Easy access to the main roads. The house was fully stocked and clean. There was plenty of room for multiple families to share. Communication with the owner was always prompt and helpful. We can't wait to return!

Love Skylight!!

This is our fourth time at Skylight with a group of families we ho on an annual ski trip. We love the house and it’s proximity to Bromley. The hangout areas are awesome and the bedrooms are well thought out with different combinations of beds—bunks, fulls, queens, kings—to accommodate everyone. The property owner was really attentive and replied immediately. We look forward to returning to Skylight.

Perfect in every way!

My family and I stayed at the Skylight Ski Lodge for Christmas 2022 in hopes to escape the craziness of the season and enjoy our children and each others company. We will now have memories to last a lifetime. Throughout the booking process, I was in touch with Erin who quickly responded to any questions or concerns I had, which was so very appreciated. When we arrived at the Lodge, I was taken back by its beauty, as the pictures do not do the actual feel of this home any justice. It was perfect in every way and most importantly, in my opinion when booking a home, it was immaculate!!! There were 8 adults and 7 children (including a 9 month old baby) and there were more than enough bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate us. Beautifully decorated with no detail overlooked, and beds that were more comfortable than my own. Each room had a lot of closet space which was wonderful as we lugged our Christmas gifts from Santa and needed a place to store them until the big day. We had 2 young teenagers who claimed the loft where there were 2 twin beds and gave them space to hangout and make memories. It was adorable. The bathrooms were gorgeous- each with towels, shampoo, conditioner and body wash. My bathroom had a steam shower which we loved after a day out in the snow and dry air. There were razors and toothbrushes in a basket in case these items were forgotten as they often are. There was a pack and play and monitor for the baby which really came in handy. My personal favorite part of this home was the kitchen where there was a huge Viking stove. We came with food to cook for Christmas Eve and Day and we were surprised to find spices we had forgotten. A well-laid out space with a pantry off to its side with shelves and an extra refrigerator. We cooked and ate and laughed until we cried. We gathered in a large family room after dinner where we played games and laughed some more by the fireplace. There was also a living room with a television where the kids often drifted off and gave us adult time alone. The last night there, we were lucky to find that the pond in the yard was frozen. The kids skated with a beautiful pink sunset sky behind them. Truly picture perfect. The location is wonderful, close to Manchester Center where we shopped and had lunch a few days. It was so close to Stratton Mountain where we took the kids tubing. I am certain you will be more than happy with your stay here. Thank you, Erin and Rich, for sharing your home with us.

Great house for family weekend!

This house is amazing! It’s clean, has great spaces and really well outfitted with everything you could need. We had a birthday dinner for my husband and yard and house were the perfect setting. Communication with the host was fantastic and she replied immediately to any question. We definitely plan to go back!

Family fun at Skylight Lodge

Our family with adult children had a fantastic week at Skylight Lodge. The house had plenty of space for us to spread out and enjoy…places to sit and read, do puzzles, play board games, and watch movies. Plenty of outdoor space for yard games too. My husband and I love visiting Manchester and the location was perfect to introduce our kids to the area. Great communication, easy check in. Would definitely stay again!

Skylight for the second time!

Excellent house, excellent communication!

We enjoyed this house very much. Great layout on the main floor (kitchen, TV room, fireplace room); all bedrooms are on the second and third floor. The kitchen had all that we could ask for as we prepared dinner at the house two of our nights. We also used the grill, deck, and backyard. The owners were great and check-in was simple. We strongly recommend this home.

Great for groups

Beautiful lodge! Great gathering spaces and kitchen. The fireplace is magnificent and the kids really enjoyed the ice skating on the pond. Plenty of room for our group of 10 adults and 6 children. Would definitely recommend. Liz was very accommodating.

Wonderful experience at the lodge

Skylight Lodge was perfect for our group of 14. With two living rooms, the kids and adults each had their own space to relax in and enjoy. The kitchen was well stocked, house was clean and many amenities provided. Location is excellent - quick drive to Manchester, Bromley and Stratton. Liz was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. Would highly recommend! Thanks for a great stay, Liz!

Amazing Stay - Amazing and Spacious House!

Liz was an amazing host - very responsive and helpful! The house was incredible, the photos do not do it justice! I would highly recommend this house and will be booking it for future group gatherings in the area!

Amazing. Epic lodge !

We all absolutely loved the skylight lodge. What a great place. SUPER cozy, tons of space. Liz ( the owner ) is amazing. Really helpful with anything you may need. The property was fantastic Lots of space to play in the yard and park your cars. . Extremely close to Bromley Mountain which was awesome. Actually pretty close to just about anything you may need. Just an all around wonderful experience. The only bad part about the lodge, is that we had to leave. Cannot wait to come back again next year. Cheers till then !

Skylight Ski Lodge was built in 1950 and was run as an Inn from 1952-2002. In its heyday, Ski Magazine, February 1977 Issue, said: "most of the serious skiers who frequent the Skylight Lodge wouldn't think of staying anywhere else." In 2004, the Funk family purchased the lodge. They totally renovated it with every amenity you could wish for, done in excellent taste. Two great rooms with massive native stone, wood-burning fireplaces. Maple trees on the property were milled and used for trim and maple floors throughout the home.

In 2022, our gang happily stumbled upon the property. Bridget, Erin and Rich have been friends since college. Through Bridget, Marc joined the friendship. We have stood up at each other weddings and have remained close for over 20+ years. Coming out of the pandemic, our two families knew we wanted to spend MORE time together and found ourselves in the hunt for the perfect place. Skylight SKi Lodge is just that place. Our five children between us love to spend time running the halls, exploring the property outdoors and look forward to the beautiful winters skiing together on Stratton, Bromley and Okemo.
