Open Floor Plan - Sleeps Up To 9 - 2700 acre lake! Enjoy a lot of recreation, fall colors, snowmobiling, ATV, fishing, cross country skiing, mountain biking, ice fishing, and much more.

Come and relax and have some fun in our custom-built, beautiful log-accented cabin on the shores of Nelson Lake in Hayward, Wisconsin. Just 8 minutes from town, this retreat has everything you need to feed your senses! Gorgeous log and knotty pine interior, large and spacious rooms to sleep one - ten people, grand open concept with a magnificent vault! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need in dinnerware, glasses, coffee cups, utensils, bakeware, serving dishes, and so much more.

Come and sleep in one of our many log beds from twins to a King bed in the master bedroom! Brand new linens, pillows and comforters as well as all new bath towels are there for you to use! Why should you have to do anything when you're on vacation, but simply show up and begin having fun!

We have games, cards, puzzles, books, coloring books, and magazines here to help make your time here even more enjoyable. We have a DVD player and a library of movies to choose from. Free WIFI, Apple TV, smart tv with Netflix and many other channels and programs too. Want to have some time to bake?? This is a great getaway for that as the kitchen is huge and allows for many people to be in there at one time. The dining room table opens up to five feet by five feet and holds tons of food and/or treats! We've seen it happen so many times! It's a great gathering place for friends and family to come!

The snowmobiling and 4-wheeling trails are literally RIGHT OUT THE FRONT DOOR! You can head in numerous directions and play in the thousands of acres of forest and trail systems for days on end. All with great stopping points for food, drink, conversation and more! Do you like to fish?? Nelson Lake boasts 2716 acres, right here in Sawyer County. It's a wonderful fishing lake any time of the year. "Outstanding Bluegill and Bass action. Weeds, bogs, cribs and river channels offer countless angling opportunities including Crappie and Northern Pike," according to The DNR will tell you that Panfish and Largemouth Bass are common"

Wonderful cabin retreat

Overall very impressed with the cabin, it was very clean and the perfect space for a weekend getaway. The host was amazing and very accommodating. Only downside is the 4th bedroom is only separated by a curtain which is not pictured or in the description of the room.

Skiing in the New Year

We had an active yet relaxing time skiing in the north woods and returning to the cozy yet spacious cabin to cook, laugh and rest. Serene winter get away 20 minutes to OO Birkie chalet! Kids loved the loft, adults had their own space and we all could hang out in the kitchen and great room. Great place!

Cozy cabin!!

We had another great weekend at the cabin. This is our second year staying and everything was as described. Owners were very quick to respond with any communications. We came in the heart of winter and everything was plowed and cleared so access was not an issue. Great place and highly recommend.

Love it

I absolutely love it here. I’ve stayed here with my family before and loved it so much we had to come back. Kevin is great at responding if I had any questions leading up to my trip. It’s perfect because you can walk to the lodge or the landing for appetizers and a soda or even park island for a great fish fry. I will absolutely be back again thanks again !

Perfect for our needs.

This was a perfect location for us and another family. We were in Hayward for the Chequamegon mountain bike race and the accommodations were ideal for the race location. The sleeping arrangements were also perfect for 2 families. It was very clean, homey and welcoming. Communication with the owner was timely and easy. We all enjoyed the games and puzzles they had on hand!

Girls Getaway

Great property for a weekend getaway with friends. Our intent was to just hang out, play games, etc. The kitchen was nicely stocked for our chili cook off. We enjoyed the view of the lake, fireplace, and watching our Packers beat the Cowboys on the massive TV. The host was very responsive to questions. Highly recommend.

Days of leisure and fishing

We arrived to find a beautiful cabin that was meticulously clean and had a great view of the lake. It was nice to find quality dishes and cookware, comfy beds and linens. We had no problems, but Kevin was always available to answer questions. My only suggestion is that the pontoon's upholstery be replaced. We highly recommend this property and hope to return next summer. Thank you for the use of your wonderful cabin, Kevin. Ellen

beautiful, spacious, clean, well stocked get away for a ladies trip!

The cabin was beautiful, so well decorated and well stocked. Large deck looking out on the water. Beds are comfortable. Great location to meet a large variety of interests in activities. The place is located in a resort so be prepared to have multiple neighbors. On a beautiful lake and found it to be a quiet, scenic location overall. I would come back again.

They property was very nice. The owner’s take care of the inside very well. Very well equipped with everything you need. The outside needs a little work 3 grills on deck not sure why, picnic table didn’t like and chairs not in great condition. Screen door need to be fixed the screen was damaged when we got there. We would definitely stay there again

Beautiful spot for a family vacation

We truly enjoyed our stay at Lake Nelson. The house was beautiful and was stocked with anything and everything that you could possible need. We enjoyed our days at the sunken beach not far from our pier. The kids caught fish after fish. We also enjoyed our time at the three other resorts on the lake that had game rooms and food. The owners were great to work with. The kids and I kayaked daily. Highly recommend this place for your next family vacation.

This property just feels like home, you will love the warmth when you first walk-thru the stone-columned entrance. HUGE vaults shine above you with knotty pine and large clean windows facing the lake welcome in all of the sunshine that mother nature has offered up! The home is decorated with log and wildlife accents everywhere. No detail is missed here. Everything you need in the kitchen is there for your use. And if you are missing some basic toiletries, you will find them on-site as well. If you want to come to just relax and stay indoors - you will have plenty to do with the new smart, 75-inch big-screen TV, a movie library, Wi-Fi, puzzles, books, and games all stocked for you.

If your are more inclined to be active outdoors, there is a clear view to the lake and a place to dock your boat, should you choose to bring one. Summertime activities right outside your door include, swimming at the beach just a short 2 minute walk from the front door, fishing (fish house again located a short 2 minute walk from the cabin), trails right out the door for four-wheeling, snowmobiling and the like, jet skiing, tubing, or just sitting by the firepit for drinks and conversation. You can even rent a pontoon boat right here! Oh, ther're kayaks on site for you to use too!

We have a gas grill ready with all the tools to cook up some good food right out on the large 28x12 maintenance free deck. A nice picnic table is there for your use or tons of room for you to rest on the cabin chairs and cushions supplied for you.

We've tried to think of everything ... because we know how valuable vacation time is for you, your family and your friends. We want to welcome you to our home and hope you make some amazing memories while you are here! Let us know if we can do anything for you!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The views from the front of the cabin are amazing! The sunrises and sunsets will take your breath away ... if you can get up early or stay up late enough:-) You can literally walk to a park which is shared by the Nelson Lake Lodge Association, to which our home is a part. You can walk to a restaurant only 5 minutes away at the Nelson Lake Landing or to Park Island Resort. The Landing even has a gas pump should you need some gas for your watercraft. For a change of scenery off the lake, you can head 8 minutes into town and shop on the main street and venture into a number of quaint restaurants, jewelry stores, clothing stores and more. You MUST go get some of the best ice cream in all of the upper Midwest! It's called West's Hayward Dairy located on west 2nd street right in Hayward:-) Hayward also hosts numerous events at the Scheer Lumberjack Shows and Village. You can see anything from log rolling, speed sawing, pole climbing, ax throwing and more in the event arena or wander right into the village and all the quaint stores and gift shops. And if you enjoy bright lights and casinos ... head on over to the Seven Winds Casino where you can play the slots, poker, craps, roulette and more. You'll find live music, good food at the buffet and restaurant, and lots of laughter.... of course COVID 19 rules are in place so call and see what is or is not happening at the time of your stay.
