The lake house was great for a weekend getaway. Kyle was a great host and communicating with us to see if we had any questions or concerns. We liked the the fire pit overlooking the lake and the lake view was the best part of it. Would definitely recommend this house and consider staying here again in the future.

Amazing views, very clean and well stocked cottage, plenty of places to eat and shop. Very convenient to have a gas station across the street and a fruit market just down the street. Loved how well the house was stocked. They had everything we needed to have for our stay. Host was very helpful for any questions we had. They stayed in touch throughout our stay. Pleasant to text with. We were very greatful for this opportunity to stay there. We even enjoyed our little wildlife visitors! Very relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Up North Getaway!

We had a great experience staying at this home! We loved being right on the water. The house is close to food, ice cream and multiples stores for easy convenience. Kyle is an amazing and attentive host. Anything we needed he was on it immediately. We saw beautiful sunsets and enjoyed the bonfire pit and indoor/outdoor speaker set up for music. We hope to stay at this little slice of paradise again!

Great place on the lake

We had a wonderful time at this cottage. It was very clean and well stocked. The large dock was great for reading a book while the kids played in the water or watching the beautiful sunsets each night. Thank you to our hosts, it was just the vacation we needed to recharge.

Beautiful view of Houghton Lake

This house is in a beautiful location on the east bay of Houghton Lake. We got to see an amazing sunset from the dock. The sliding glass doors provide gorgeous lake views from the dining area and living area. The host provided all kinds of extras such as popcorn, candy, shampoo, Keurig cups, and much more. Everyone in our group young and old enjoyed the outdoor fire pit, kayaks, floating pad. Hope to stay here again.

The cottage was well-stocked for outdoor fun! We enjoyed using the kayaks and paddle board in the water and had several great bonfires while listening to music using the outdoor speakers. We loved how far we could walk out in the shallow water and the soft, sandy bottom of the lake. The interior of the cottage was nicely updated while retaining the original charm of the wood paneling and wood floors. The kids loved the basketball hoop in the middle of the living room too.

Beautiful refurbished cottage. Oak flooring was easy to clean and maintain. Perfect dwelling on the water for a family with children. Sandy shallow (0'-2') of water for several 100 feet from shore until deeper water.

Ahhh-mazing!

This was the perfect spot for our family! We were looking for a place to relax, have fun, and hang out. After our first full day, my 14 year old son said, “This place is so comfortable. It feels like home.” Kyle and Suzanne have done a great job thinking of everything a group might need or want during their stay. We made so many incredible memories here!

Great Experience and hosts, tons of lake front

Nothing bad to say at all. We really enjoyed our stay (family of 4) and our girls had a great experience. Beautiful views of the lake and large piece of property (double lot?). Ok, the driveway is a bit tricky getting out of on a busy day but plenty of space to park multiple vehicles or a boat etc.

Wonderful lakeside home

We had a wonderful time at this lake house. Owner was easy to communicate with and sent us an email a few days prior with a run down of everything we needed, including local highlights like restaurants and boat launches. The only draw back was the road noise at night, but with the windows closed and the air on it was quite. Beautiful sunsets while sitting around the firepit. House is fully stocked and gas grill was a bonus to dine at home. Would definitely visit again.

Amazing Summer Getaway

From the get go, Kyle was incredibly attentive and detailed about our stay. His check-in instructions and property information were thorough and helpful. The house is stocked with the essentials, and is in a perfect location for picking up groceries. There are plenty of spots to find a comfy seat inside the spacious living room. The bedrooms were perfect for our family, and had nice touches like ceiling fans and updated outlets for charging devices. The spa bathroom was an unexpected plus! The outdoor space was also perfect for us, as we were able to walk out in the shallow water or chill on the lily pad. We would definitely stay here again!

This cottage was amazing and so very comfortable! A home away from home... It has GREAT amenities and personal touches. The sunset views were the absolute best!!! Loved the waterfront side with end to end windows. Dock was awesome. This home is very well taken care of. Owners were very friendly and available whenever needed. We would stay here again and again! Absolutely Beautiful

My family and I wanted to do a nice vacation without leaving the state. What we found was a beautiful spot right on Houghton Lake. Kyle’s cottage was exactly what we needed!! The scenery is stunning. We sat out and watched the sunsets and sunrises. Also there was a family of ducks that were quite entertaining to watch as they were around each day. The cottage itself was very cute and just the size we needed. I loved the ability to open the back door walls and listen to the waves. Also a huge benefit was the outdoor speakers and fire pit which we used almost daily/nightly. The only downside was we had a couple of rainy stormy days but there many things to do in town or we just stayed in one day and played family games. Kyle was very accommodating and hospitable. We can’t say how much we appreciated that! Thank you Kyle!!

Very accommodating!

Our family rents lake cottages in Michigan every summer. This was the most accommodating thus far! Pros (of which there are many!) - Great and easy communication with Kyle - Lake access was clean and sandy - House was spotless and modern - Plenty of outside seating - Had everything we needed - plenty of towels, well stocked kitchen including all the utensils needed, napkins, plates, foil, and even a couple of snacks to get us started! - Extra throw blankets were a real plus as it was pretty chilly when we stayed. Cons (of which there are very few): - House is right on M-55, so lots of traffic including emergency vehicles daily could be heard while sitting outside. (Not inside though) - Master bed is very firm to the point we found it rather uncomfortable. But again - some may prefer firm. Other notes: - Water is only knee high very far out, this could be a pro or a con depending on what your goals are. We wanted to do a little fishing and kids wanted to "swim." They were still able to use their kayaks and our paddle boards and we waded around a lot.

We work hard to allow our guests to come in and enjoy their vacation without having to run right to the grocery store. There can be some traffic noise on 55 but like you said usually it can't be heard inside. The bed's firmness is something we will consider moving forward. The water levels are down a little bit this year which is excellent for swimming but makes fishing more challenging. Thank you again for the review and for taking great care of our place. We are a family of four with two boys, ages 8 & 6. We purchased the cabin in 2020 and have spent time enjoying the lake, getting to know the area, and renovating. We are looking forward to sharing the unique lake experience that allows other families/friends to build memories together.

We have renovated this property to provide a cabin/relaxing feel with modern amenities to enjoy all this property has to offer. The double lot offers plenty of room for games and kids to play in the yard. The views of the lake are great from inside the house, at the patio furniture, or at the fireplace.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The dock has a sitting area (platform) to fish and enjoy sunsets. Steps lead you from the dock down to a sandy beach for swimming. It is the perfect depth for children and you can sit on the platform and enjoy it. The 90' of frontage provides room for yard games while still enjoying lake views. A large swim mat, kayaks, and a grill is also provided. There is a restaurant and meat market within walking distance as well.
