Welcome to Casa Blanca, my name is Blanca and this is my lakeside summer home. Located on a calm closed lake between Westport and Perth, Ontario, this property has been in my family since the 1960's. In spring of 2020, it was mine and in dire need of renovation.
After seeing my aging neighbours no longer able to enjoy their beloved summer cottages because of mobility loss, I decided to renovate with mobility in mind and to share it with others.
There were many challenges: How do I make the property accessible when the land isn't level? How do I make it accessible for different types of mobility? How do I make it feel like home for my guests?
I met so many wonderful people throughout the rebuild process, they had stories and experiences and it became clear how sorely needed an accessible vacation property is in Eastern Ontario.
Come and enjoy a week of spectacular sunsets, easy living and the healing power of sitting lakeside.
