Trailside Cottage is directly on the Virginia Creeper Trail and Laurel Creek. Walk out the door for a bike ride or walk on the trail. This 3-bedroom, 2 bathroom vacation rental offers a fully equipped kitchen, den with futon, cozy living room, porch that views the river and a relaxing firepit. River access so bring your water tubes, kayaks and fishing poles.
Come and enjoy all Damascus and Abingdon have to offer and be sure to check out local brewery, distillery, winery and restaurants.
The space
This lovely rental can accommodate up to 7 guests. Completely furnished and beautifully decorated. Full kitchen, dishwasher, central heat/air. One bedroom has full bed and twin bed, one bedroom has a bunk bed (full & twin) and the master bedroom has a queen size bed. Have a den area with a futon that can be used to sleep. There are 2 full bathrooms one has a shower only. Beautiful porch to enjoy your morning coffee and listen to the river. Smart TVs available in living room and 2 bedrooms. Feel free to access your streaming services, no cable. Gas grill available. Fire pit is available. Smoking is not permitted. No pets allowed.
This home is located directly on the Virginia Creeper Trail. You’re a short bike ride to downtown Damascus (2mi) and to the grocery store (1.2). Damascus is known best as Trail Town USA, where seven nationally known trails intersect within its borders, but it is so much more! Damascus and the surrounding areas offer hiking trails, kayaking, biking, local restaurants, brewery and winery.

***Virginia Creeper Trail is only open from Damascus to Abingdon. Whitetop to Damascus has been badly damaged to Helene.

Some local attractions:
* 15 minutes from Abingdon. Be sure to check out the Famous Barter Theater
* 20 to Beartree Lake
* 25 minutes to Bristol
* 40 minutes to Marion, Hungry Mother State Park
* 50 minutes to Grayson Highlands State Park.

Our stay was wonderful. With the creek at the back of the house and the Va creeper trail at the front it could not have been any better. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the porch in the rocking chairs and watching/ hearing the creek and walking on the trail.The home had everything you could need and the owners were very friendly.

Great location!

This property was in a great location - we were in town for a race on the Creeper Trail. It was convenient to both Damascus and Abingdon. The location right on the trail is neat as well.

yearly vacation

good as always, the town had some storm damage due to Hurricane Helene and 1/2 the biking trail was closed, some of the restaurants and the deck on the river had been destroyed. They were building it back when we were there, but it was blocked off for workers. Normally a great fishing area but we didn't catch anything. The owner said since the hurricane that it had not been good for fishing. None of it was the fault of the owners.

Great location on Creeper Trail

We enjoyed our stay in VA. This cute little house is directly on the VA Creeper Trail and the river is behind the house. Cute fire pit area and really sweet neighborhood cat that my boys got to love on. We had a great stay and would definitely return.

Awesome place on the trail and next to the river

The house is awesome with a nice covered front porch to watch the river as the sun rises with a cup of coffee. By far my favorite place to stay around Damascus.

The house was very nice loved every aspect kids loved the swing and the creek only negative thing I could say about it was the mattress in the master bedroom was a bit firm for our liking but some people like it that way and it wouldn’t keep us from staying there in the future

Perfect home away from home for college move in!

Arriving at midnight in pouring rain, the kids said it all..."this place is perfect!"Greeted by a sweet cat on the steps, we soon realized that we had found a gem. Clean, quaint house with a lot of character, plenty of space, and everything you need to cook/grill. Hosts were amazing and even made the whole college drop off process more comfortable by offering to help out in any way. We will definitely stay again when we are down to visit our daughter at college!

Fantastic place

Wonderful stay at the trailside cottage. Easy access. Fun tubing on the river. Great dinner on the deck overlooking the river. Rooms were great. Beautiful cottage. Superb A/C. Highly recommended for all.

Great place to stay and enjoy nature. Close to town to enjoy the activities there. The Virginia Creeper Trail is right in front of the house for easy access whether biking or hiking. Very clean and spacious with everything you’ll need for your stay.

Perfect Fit for Our Group

We had a wonderful stay at TrailSide Cottage. It was the perfect fit for our group and close to family in Damascus. We especially enjoyed relaxing outdoors, having dinner on the deck overlooking the river, and sitting by the firepit. We also met the host briefly and he was great!

Cold But Awesome Trip, Great Cottage

Cozy, clean, and family friendly. We were able to hop on the VCT in the front yard and ride. Great river view in the back. It was cold so we tried Bristol Caverns on the first day and braved the cold for a great VCT ride on day 2. This house is in a perfect location, less than 2 miles from downtown Damascus. Owners checked on us. Great house with some character, would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful stay!

Owners are great! Perfect location! Right on the Creeper Trail and on the river. Close to town. Bungalow is wonderful and plenty of room for the five of us that stayed the long weekend. Will definitely be back!

A great place to stay

The property was clean and roomy, with 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms (5 beds in all), a large living room and another sitting room. What’s more, it’s located right on the Virginia Creeper Trail. Right now, there’s a lot of construction on the highway that runs in front of the house, but this was not a problem or an inconvenience, and it won’t be happening forever. We enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

Home was great, very spacious, slept 6 adults comfortably & very clean. I would highly recommend this VRBO if heading to the Damascus, Va. area.
