Acerca de este alojamiento

Fireside Lodge - spacious home in Mazama

Summary:

Fireside Lodge is a spacious home located in the secluded Timberline Meadows home-owner community close to Mazama and enjoys a prime location with exceptional views, right on the groomed winter-time Methow Trails.

The lodge's great room features large view windows, riverstone fireplace, vaulted ceiling, comfortable couches and a grand piano. The home has three bedrooms, including a primary suite, queen bedroom and a studio with queen and twin trundle beds.

Timberline Meadows is just 2 miles from the Mazama Store, and in winter is accessed by its very own branch of the Methow Trails groomed cross country ski, fatbike and snow shoe trail. Set back from the road (SR20) across the hay fields and backing on to National Forest Timberline Meadows enjoys a quiet location with spectacular views from the tree line.

The Space:

Fireside Lodge is a generously sized home with exceptional views and gorgeous features including a river stone fireplace and log beams. The entryway with adequate hooks and storage benches leads to the great room with its view windows, fireplace and vaulted wood paneled ceiling, furnished with couches and a grand piano!

The open plan ground floor has a well equipped kitchen including a large kitchen island with gas range, and a dining nook with more great views. A queen bedroom, shower room and utility room, with washer and dryer, are also located downstairs.

Upstairs the primary suite includes a lounge area with recliners and TV, bathroom with double sinks, soaking tub, and large closet. The primary suite bed is in a cozy bay-windowed space off the sitting area.

Also upstairs is the third bedroom which is a studio with its own kitchenette, additional entry door accessed from outdoor stairs, and ensuite bathroom; furnished with a queen and a twin trundle beds.

The home is located in the secluded Timberline Meadows home-owner community close to Mazama, with winter-time ski trail access just the other side of the driveway. In summer you can sit out in the garden on adirondack chairs and enjoy the view of the mountains and meadows.

The Neighborhood:

The Timberline Meadows development, located in the Upper Methow Valley, is home to eight nightly rentals, as well as several private homes. The homes are all nestled in the trees at the edge of the National Forest. The wintertime ‘John’s Way’ cross country ski, snowshoe and fat bike trails connects Timberline Meadows to Mazama and the Upper Methow trail system (permits required), making this a great ski-in / ski-out location, away from the bustle of the Mazama trailhead but close enough to ski down to the store.

It’s a 20 minute drive to the Cutthroat Lake trailhead, 21 minutes to Washington Pass and 27 minutes to Maple Pass trailhead (*drive times according to google maps), making this a great hiking base-camp for exploring the North Cascades and for beating the crowds to the trailhead during larch season.

The Mazama Store, with its great bakery and ‘a little bit of everything good’ is just a 5 minute drive or 10 minute bike ride from the cabin, and around 20 minutes by ski (depending how fast you slide and glide). Mountain bike and ski rentals are also available in Mazama.

The old west town of Winthrop is 12 1/2 miles and around 15 minutes drive down valley, with its great shopping, bakery and dining establishments; the Shafer Museum is also worth a visit to learn about the local history. Winthrop has a fun ice skating rink and is the jumping off point for Methow Rafting’s raft and float tubing on the Methow River. Winthrop’s annual calendar of events includes the Rhythm and Blues Festival, Vintage Car Rally, Memorial Day Rodeo, and Christmas At The End Of The Road (check the town’s website for details).

Getting Around:

Getting here: May to November, from Seattle and the westside, you can drive over highway 20 and Washington Pass (check WSDOT for closures). Alternate, and winter routes from Seattle are via I90, Snoqualmie Pass and Blewett Pass, or highway 2 over Stevens Pass (check WSDOT for driving conditions). Combine these routes and you have the scenic Cascade Loop. Nearest major airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (258 miles / 4.5 hrs drive).

Other Things to Note:

NUMBER OF GUESTS: Fireside Lodge sleeps 8 in 3 bedrooms. (1 bed is trundle bed for a child). SIX guests are included, and guests over 6 are charged at $25 per person per night.

MINIMUM STAY: minimum stay is 2 nights.

RATES: Please note accommodation rates vary with demand, seasons, weekends and holidays.

The Inn Pool - guests of our cabin may use The Inn at Mazama outdoor pool (open from Memorial Day to Labor Day) and tennis/pickleball court located at 15 Country Road in Mazama. The cost to use the pool is $10/guest/day and you should check in at the front desk before heading to the pool.
