Charming Lake Cottage! Close to Shipshewana, Clean Lake, Boat Rentals

Newly updated lake cottage on one of Indiana's cleanest lakes! If you're looking for rest and relaxation this is the place!

North Twin lake is a non sport private lake, making it perfect for your family to swim, kayak, fish or just relax. There are no speed boats or jet ski's. Message me for details.

This adorable cottage sleeps 4-6 people, we offer 3 Queen size beds. One full size bedroom and two lofts each with a Queen bed. Keep in mind that to access the lofts you will need to be able to climb a ladder for access. The lake is just steps away and we have a private deck to sit and watch the kids play or just soak up the sun!
We are only an hour from Kalamazoo, MI, South Bend, IN, and Fort Wayne, IN. Shipshewana is a short 10-15 minute drive. You'll get to know some of our Amish neighbors when you visit Shipshewana. Shipshewana has a flea market and authentic homestyle Amish cooking and even horse drawn carriage rides!
The 80-90 Tollroad is about 10 minutes from the house. Shopping is conveniently located 15 minutes north in Sturgis where you'll find a Walmart, Meijer, Walgreens, CVS, and many restaurants!

Our home is smoke free and pet free and we vigorously disinfect the entire home after each stay. We wash ALL linens and bedding, including comforters after EVERY guest!

Parking is available for 2 cars. No street parking is available.

Amazing Lake Weekend

A group of my friends and I stayed here for a weekend in June and it was absolutely perfect. Everything was clean when we got there and it was super easy to check in. The water was beautiful and the neighbors were really friendly! I would highly recommend staying here!

Beautiful lake!

This charming cottage sits on one of the most beautiful and peaceful lakes in Northern Indiana. The cottage was perfect for our family and had everything we needed for our long weekend get away.

Place was very clean and recently renovated. Neighbors were very friendly. Only downfall was you couldn’t get into the water from the dock and wade. It was very overgrown. We were able to get out in the water with kayaks onsite and we brought our own tubes and paddle board, so we paddled out and went swimming. Water was clean and refreshing. The fire pit was an unexpected added bonus. Nice to sit by the fire and lake at night.

Fishing Trip

Great fishing, beautiful clean lake. Renting the pontoon is a must. Aside from Mother Nature showing her true colors it was a fantastic mini trip before our kids head back to school. Golf near by was also great fun.

Nice Stay

The owners have done a beautiful job with the cottage and responded quickly to my questions. Just beware that the two loft beds are accessed by a narrow ladder and the head space is very low. It is the mattress only with no extra space. Best suited for children. It was challenge for my 60 friend and I to get up and down! The master bedroom has a beautiful view and the AC works very well. Would also recommend a ladder on the dock to help get out of the lake.

Quiet Lake Getaway

We enjoyed our time on this quiet lake! The house was great and the lake was beautiful. We loved taking the pontoon out and my son loved catching and watching all the frogs in the evenings. My only complaint is that we couldn’t find a wine opener.

Shipshewana getaway

It is a lovely quaint lake cottage with lake frontage. The frontage wasn’t exactly swimmable with all the natural growth but the growth was lovely if you like it. The inside was clean and cozy; the outside could use some cleaning. The beds were comfortable the location was convenient and not too far from everything.

Very peaceful and quiet and clean! Pontoon was fabulous! It was a lot of stairs to climb due to the living room on one floor and the kitchen on another. Also no railing on the outside steps so it was difficult to navigate! But over all a nice clean quiet place to stay on a beautiful lake!

Week at charming lake cottage

Charming Lake Cottage is a peaceful lovely getaway. The cottage was very clean inside, and Lisa was a great host. The lake is clear and we enjoyed kayaking, and bird watching from the deck. The neighbors are wonderful. For fun, check out the pumpkin vine trail in Middlebury. Pumpkinvine Cyclery rents bike for the day. Very relaxing week!

Staying here is becoming a summer tradition!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoy the consistently peaceful tranquility of staying at this cottage. Especially in the evenings, it almost seems as though man-made noise is non-existent! Our times of staying here are weekdays, so I can't speak for the weekends. I can speak for the charming hosts, though, who are there fast if you need them, and go out of their way to be non-intrusive when you don't! Highly recommended!

Lazy Day Getaway

A truly relaxing spot. Everything was a little better than expected. Very friendly neighbors and lake users. Insider Tips: Definitely wear shoes on the loft ladders if you're over the age of 16. Signal is better outside the house. Drive carefully; watch out for Amish buggies. Try the Golden Buddha & Fireside Craft Burgers. Turn the AC on early if you plan to use the lofts. Bring an icecube tray. Don't use the downstairs exit at night if you want to avoid bugs. Kayak rental is 100% worth it. $5 wood bundles for sale right across from Twin Mills Camping Resort. Respect the property, it's a great deal and we want it to stick around :)
