Enjoy fabulous ocean vistas and direct beach access at this dog-friendly home that is ideal for a long-term stay (30-night minimum) for remote work or traveling nurses. This exclusive rental includes a private hot tub and a grill in the secluded backyard. The primary suite includes a gas fireplace, iPod docking station, and a balcony with 180-degree ocean and sunset views -- the perfect spot to watch the surf over evening drinks.

Exposed vaulted ceilings soar above the Great Room, featuring warm terracotta tiles and book-filled shelves. Relax between a comfy sofa, armchair, and rocking chair - set before a 32-inch TV and wood-burning fireplace. Settle in with a good book in the second living area, appointed with an armchair and futon. An open kitchen comes with plenty of cookware and a full suite of stainless steel appliances (including a gleaming gas range). Chat over morning coffee at the four-person breakfast bar. A sunny dining area seats 10.

Located at the foot of Ocean Avenue, this coastal home offers direct access to the golden shores of Carmel Beach. You're also half a mile from restaurants, eateries, and tasting rooms in the heart of Carmel-By-The-Sea. Golf lovers are in for a treat! The stunning Pebble Beach Golf Course is only 1.5 miles from your door. While 4.3 miles away, Point Lobos State Natural Reserve offers a gorgeous stretch of coastline for hiking and watching the local sea life.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Best location, house needs some updating.

This sweet home is located 10 steps away from Carmel beach. With its two prime driveway parking spaces, you are all set for your vacation as the adjacent beach parking lot gets crazy packed on a summer weekend. You are also a short distance from downtown; we appreciate the pet policy and took our pups to the down to the beach and up for coffee every morning. It was idyllic. Full disclosure, although very clean inside, the house itself is aging and could use some updating and repairs (lights broken, loose tiles in bathroom, hot tub needs refinishing, unkept back yard, etc.). Most of the home’s windows do not open, so it’s hard to get a cross breeze in the house on a hot day, which we had several of. There is no A/C or fans. However, this did not deter us from having a wonderful time! Would have given 5 stars if not for these issues and the extremely high price I paid for peak season.

Awesome location, well-stocked house that could use a little love

Loved the sunsets! Bedrooms comfy and kitchen well-stocked for cooks and family gatherings. Stepping out the front gate and walking directly to the beach made for easy and relaxing pleasure. Downsides: crowds of cars trying to park in the small lot outside made getting in and out with your car a major hassle, especially on a hot Labor Day weekend. Deck railing needs repair, hot tub wasn’t hot enough (92), wifi didn’t extend to back bedrooms, and toilets should be upgraded to low-flow. Otherwise, a wonderful beach vacation was enjoyed by all.

Great Location

Location is ideal. We’ll stocked with towels/sundries, coffee/tea, multiple TVs etc. House itself is worn and needs many repairs and updating.

Awesome Location

We attended a wedding in Carmel and shared this house with a total of three couples. Each couple got their own bedroom. There is a futon in a little sitting room where a fourth couple could stay, but it's not very private. If I'm staying near an ocean, I want to be on the beach. There really weren't that many options in Carmel. Most rentals were in the center of town in the commercial district. This house is across the street from the beach. Pros: great location with a big second story porch that looks out over an amazing view of the ocean. Short walk to downtown, although it is uphill all the way. Bring comfortable walking shoes. Much easier walking back. There is a relatively new gas grill that is not mentioned in the amenities. Cons: house probably hasn't been updated in at least 20 years. Could use a little TLC. Upstairs porch is accessed through the master bedroom. There is a small public parking lot located in front of the house between the house and the beach. It's gets a little busy at times, especially on the weekend. Because of that, I don't think I would choose this house for a week long "beach vacation." However, it's perfect for a long weekend in Carmel if you want to be close to the beach. Our friends who stayed at much nicer places in town were jealous of our location.

Big Sur Marathon Family Gathering

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Seven family members gathered to share in the Big Sur Marathon experience. Most of us flew from the East coast. We found the check-in and check-out time very rigid in spite of several requests for early/ check -in and late check -out.The location is exceptional. Having beach access and two dedicated parking spaces was wonderful.The home itself was perfect for our family to spend time together. We prepared all of our meals in the kitchen which was easy to work in.Disappointingly, the property itself felt “tired” and had an overall feeling of neglect. For example, the upstairs balcony had lights missing and a wooden board was used to “replace” a glass panel at the front of the porch so the view to the beach was hindered.Aside from eating and sleeping, we spent most of our time outside and exploring the area. Overall, It was a good property to “come home to”.

Long weekend review

This vrbo was absolutely amazing! Stayed with 2 other couples. Great location. Spacious. Outside patio was such a treat. Would stay here again in a heart beat! The upstairs bedroom was a little stuffy but opening the windows helped. Also having more coffee cups would be appreciated :) otherwise perfection.

Great location

The house is in a great location Couldn’t figure out how to use the kitchen hood or get the blinds up to see the view Some of the amenities should be updated Dishes were not all clean . The location is super convenient and right on the beach which was great. But for the price of location some of the features like the tv and the bathroom should be updated

Birthday/ Retirement trip

When we arrived, the upstairs toilet did not flush, the refrigerator door did not close and seal, the oven did not reach set temperature, the downstairs bathroom did not have a grab bar to aid in entering the deep soaking tub, the light string in the kitchen had burned out lights and exposed sockets. The master bedroom bed frame was broken so made getting comfortable at night nearly impossible. The house has been neglected, but, is in a great location. We contacted Turnkey about the problems and they sent someone out the day we arrived to assess and the next day to do a toilet repair. Turnkey information about guest parking passes is incorrect according to Carmel police station. We were able to park one car in the garage and 2 in the driveway, so only had to move one car each day. Two in my group are are property managers. We feel that a home in this ideal location should be better maintained. Wendy and Chris Liberty and friends

Perfect location

The inside was very clean, but the outside yard needed some cleaning up. The location was great and felt private even though it was by the public parking lot. The kitchen was well equipped, as were the baths.

Location, location, location!

Amazing location - you walk out the door and are steps away from Carmel beach. Lots of space for 4 women and our dogs for a wind getaway. Master bedroom has stunning views of the ocean and we enjoyed sitting in the deck to watch the sun set. Wonderful stay.

The house is great, carpets have been cleaned only a day before so they were wet and moldy One of the bedrooms was completely uninhabitable, The other was quite smelly for the duration of the visit House itself is truly incredible but it’s in big need some deferred maintenance

Location Location Location - Better Than the Photos

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location can't be beat for beach access and a short walk up to town. Kitchen is well equipped for meals in. Only hiccup was a faulty flue in the downstairs fireplace but trust that will be fixed!

Steps to the Beach ... Sandals Not Required!

This is an amazing property, one of only a handful of houses that front right out onto the center of the Main Beach in Carmel. The house was clean, well taken care of and spacious enough, with all the amenities. I like to cook, and was pleased to find it had a well-equipped kitchen (all I brought was my own cast iron pan and a cast-iron Dutch Oven). I brought some kitchen knives, too, but was pleased to see there were many options for good knives already there. I can't say enough about the responsiveness of Turnkey as the property manager ... On the first day, I wanted to cook something that might have generated some smoke and couldn't figure out how to make the fan above the stove work. I texted them, had someone respond within 5 minutes, and within the hour they had a handyman onsite to try to scope and fix the problem. The responsiveness was great.

Convenient, cute house!

The driveway is accessed from the parking lot of the main beach in Carmel. We loved being able to walk out onto the beach from the house, but it can be busy. The house was really cute and well organized. Would love to go back!
