Perfect getaway house

We had such a great time staying in this house! The host was extremely responsive during the booking process and had instructions emailed to us as well as an info book in the house for us to refer to! We stayed here with 2 kids under 2. I don’t think that the house was the best suited for them but we made due and were careful with them always since there’s quite a bit of stairs and a ledge from the hallway to the living room that drops down. We didn’t end up getting a chance to use the sauna but I guess that means we will have to stay here again! **a couple of things to note was that the shower downstairs did not have a proper knob to turn it on and off so you couldn’t adjust the temperature. We also couldn’t find where the thermostat was located and the upstairs and loft did get pretty hot in the evenings.

Quirky bedroom layout - but the great room is great :)

Choose this house because of the great room with pool table for my hubby. Hubby and kids loved playing pool and watching TV at the same time. Kitchen is galley style with the eating area at the back. Neighborhood very quiet and walkable. No AC - but opened the windows and it cooled down quickly with the ceiling fans on. I'd read some other reviews that mentioned the bedrooms so thought I'd clarify: Main level bedroom (3 beds) has a door that opens right next to the pool table. The front room has a sunken living room vibe. The drop off outside the bedroom door wasn't a problem for my kids but families with babies/toddlers should check the pictures carefully. There is a 1/2 wall (the length of the house) between 1st floor and 2nd floors where the master bedroom has no doors except on the upstairs bathroom. In the master bedroom are the stairs to the loft (3rd floor-ish) which is open to the master bedroom. Yes the bedroom situation is quirky - but my family enjoyed the house and we'd stay again.

Great For Families

Super nice place for families. Everything worked and plenty of space! The decor was perfect for the beach. I loved the style of the place. Definitely will book there again. If you are going to be doing meals bring good knives. Cheers!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Not only is the home incredibly beautiful but the yard boasts a small oasis of foliage and wildlife. We saw triplet baby deer and enjoyed some of the Salal berries from the backyard. When we weren't out visiting the beach we were at the house playing pool for hours. The hot tub was not working which was a little disappointing, but despite it we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Can't wait to come stay again in the future!

Reviewer Comments: The cabin itself was pretty nice but it wasn't very clean when we got there. The windows were so dirty that when the sun was shining on them you couldn't see through them and the kitchen wasn't very well stocked. The whole place just really needs a remodel.

Coming from the city, it was a very welcome change to be able to open the blinds and see such gorgeous scenery, especially the backyard. Our daughter loved sleeping in the loft and we had a great time shooting pool. The neighborhood is very quiet and it was easy to find the home. Our only real issue was the garbage situation - we'd never seen bear-proof trash bins before, so we had to look up how to open it and the trash was never picked up, so the bin was already full from previous renters. Also, the kitchen cookware could use some updating. There was plenty of drinkware and silverware, but the pots and pans were very limited.Overall, we had a wonderful time here and would stay again.

The rental is very spacious with lots of sleeping options. The futon in the loft was uncomfortable and noisy if other members in your party stay up later than you do. The beaches are amazing and many to choose from depending on your tastes. Clamming was fun. Watching deer our back while drinking morning coffee was a plus. The kids loved the pool table!

Waldport Stay

The house was great!! I have a few issues.... There are locks on the bathroom and bedroom door in the downstairs level. The problem is if you have children and they lock the door behind you it takes a KEY to get in. No Key, that is a liability if there were to be an emergency. No way to get in unless you break the door down. The handrail outside leading up the stairs to the driveway is very unstable. I had my elderly parents visit and my dad could have very easily pushed on it for support while walking up the steps and broke it. Falling in the process, which did not happen. We had 3 adults and 1 child for 10 days. The garbage receptacle outside was not empty when we got there. There is no recycle bin and I could not find anywhere in the paperwork for a trash pickup day. My parents live in Waldport, so we used there recycle bin to save on not needing to go to the dump. I would definitely suggest to the owners to remove the keyed locks and fix the outdoor handrail. Other than that, we would absolutely stay again.

Nice place for the price

We spent the weekend in this home. The furniture and decore is dated, but in good shape so we have no complaints there. Beds were comfy. We enjoyed the downstairs bedroom with multiple beds. The upstairs bedroom is open to the downstairs, so something to mention. There are blinds covering the openings, but you can hear sound between both areas (TVs in both areas). In general, the home was really clean except the kitchen. The kitchen needs a deep clean. The appliances were clean on the surface but once you started using them, you could see they were not cleaned inside at all (oven, microwave). The kitchen could also be better stocked with better/more pots/pans and utensils for cooking. We found it a bit lacking in that area. The oven is old but works great, new dishwasher but the fridge could be replaced as well. All in all, for the price our stay was comfy and we enjoyed being here. The pool table was a hit with the kids. We didn't use the sauna. Check-in and check-out were a breeze.

Great value

We really enjoyed this house. It is large and open. The pool table and sauna were a big hit. The bed linens and towels were great and the master bed was very comfortable. The kitchen tools and appliances could use an upgrade such as usable/appropriate knives and a working oven. The broiler and stove worked so we got by. Our biggest issue was with cleanliness. We found a lot of things that weren’t cleaned properly. Luckily after we spoke to management about this issue they refunded our cleaning deposit. Apparently this is a new house for them so hopefully they can get the kinks worked out. We would definitely stay again.

Excellent weekend retreat

Very nice space to share for a weekend getaway. The sauna didn't work which was a disappointment but aside from that the place was awesome and in a great location.

Family friendly

Was very clean. It's a house but has a fun tree house vibe. Plenty of room for everyone and it's only a few minutes to Waldport. I would say here again.
