Welcome to Ocean View Cottage to enjoy an unforgettable vacation! Our 2nd row single story newly renovated home in 2023 coupled with ocean views and a few steps from the public beach access through the pathway in the back provides a serene retreat for your family. The property features a backyard with pool pool (open Apr-Oct) and fire pit.

Linens and towels provided! Stress free check-in with no key to lose or to return! Sit on the back deck with a cup of coffee to enjoy the ocean view and sunrise.

Located only a few steps away from the ocean, nearby restaurants and small shops make this an unforgettable vacation destination! The home was totally renovated in 2023 with brand new bathrooms, floors and furniture. You will enjoy the beach vibes as soon as you enter the home. There is a picnic table under the house to spend time with family outdoors. Walk a few steps through the pathway in the back to hit the public beach access.
Linens, towels, quilts, and much more are provided! Enjoy your time at the pool in the private fenced backyard or the fire pit on cooler nights. Just bring your clothes, beach towels and personal items.

Guests will be provided a code to access the property so no fear of losing the keys or returning them.

You can call us anytime during your stay if you need anything or face any issues. We want you to enjoy the home and would treat you the way we would like to be treated.

This is a independent house very close to the beach. You can walk through the pathway in the back and in a few steps you will be able at the public access in the quite beach area of Surf City, NC.

There is plenty of parking space in the property to park your cars.

There is a security camera in the front porch, back sun deck, and the pool area.
Please ensure you treat the place like your own and leave it in good shape for the next guest.

IMPORTANT:
If you are staying or checking out on a Monday, please move the trash can to the curb for pick up by the Town. Trash pick-up is every Tuesday morning..

Checkout Instructions:
1. Clean and load all used dishes into the dishwasher and start
2. Clear the fridge and freezer of any foods. Please don`t leave anything
3. Placed used bedsheets and towels on the floor in the rooms.
4. Gather all trash and place in the appropriate trash bins
5. Set AC to 75 Degrees in the summer
6. Please turn off all lights and fans.

Great cottage for a family of 4 in Surf City

Checkin was easy with the keypad and instructions. Pool was great and beach access is a short easy walk! Has beach chairs and everything you’d need for your stay on the island.

Wonderful stay!

Our group of 4 (3 adults and 1 toddler) had a wonderful long weekend at Pelican Ridge. Pictures accurately reflect the house, kitchen was well stocked and location was lovely - very short walk to public beach access and also a fun playground. Highly recommend!

This was a great house for our family of 5 especially with how close of a walk to the beach it is. The house was very clean, and the furniture well kept. There was an electrical issue with the pool pump and the owners (very responsive) had an electrician there quickly to make repairs. Our family will definitely be staying here again.

Beautiful cottage in great location!

This rental had all of the comforts of home including nice front and back deck with Adirondack chairs to relax in. Prime location when it comes to proximity of beach access. Beach was like having our own private location. Loved the sand and sun!

Perfect place and great value

Perfect place!! Clean and modern amenities. Communication with Hanna the owner was great. She checked in during our stay to make sure everything was going well. I loved the outdoor shower!! The beach is a short walk and just perfect! Thank you for a great week.

Weekend Trip in Surf City

Although the weather was a bit chilly, we. had a great long weekend in Surf City. Pelican Ridge was perfect for our family of 5. Everything was very clean. Decor was bright and fun. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed for that stay (I sent a few recommendations to the owner to add). Hanna was great to work with; always quick to respond to any questions.

Scary floor!

The kitchen floor was very soft & felt like we were going to fall through it. It also was not level & slanted from refrigerator towards other side of room.?. Wasn't reinforced before putting flooring down. We enjoyed our stay though.

Great stay, great beach

The house was as advertised with some extras (beach chairs and toys). The walk to the beach was short, and the beach was fantastic! The beach was not crowded and the water was clear! The few times I had to contact the owner, they responded quickly! The check in and checkout processes were super simple! Overall, a great place to stay!

Cute house

We loved that the house was steps away from the beach... Even our 2 yr old could walk it! Due to holiday weekend though, there was a lot of traffic and it was very noisy because the house is on the main road. The showers have low pressure, so we had better luck with the outdoor shower which the kids thought was so fun. The kitchen is perfect and well stocked. Very cutely decorated and comfortably furnished. Floors are very wavy though. Overall, we had a lot of fun and the house served us well!

Great stay for a week

The house was clean and as pictured in the photos. The outside shower with hot and cold water was great with kids. Close to the beach, short easy walk Beach chairs and toys were convenient. Owners were easy to get ahold of on a couple items. Kitchen had everything we needed.

Relaxing Visit

Enjoyable

The house was decorated nicely. Much care was taken to prepare for our stay. A few pieces of feedback are as follows: The outside of the house was a bit more worn. The front porch was dirty. The back porch anchors for the awning flap in the wind which is quite noisy while trying to sleep. The structural metal bracing under the house should be checked for rusting through. Wash rags and dish towels in the kitchen would aap have been helpful. The guest bedroom was without pillows. Overal a very pleasant stay.

We really enjoyed staying at Pelican Ridge. Very comfortable. Pretty place. Convenient to everything we wanted to do. Kitchen well-stocked with utensils, pots and pans. Comfortable beds. Owner promptly responded to any questions. Recommend this rental as a great place to stay.

Rough start but overall good time

VRBO app information for Smart Phone was inconsistent with information sent by email as entry code (stated in two places) lacked the pound key/hash tag (#). Owner was not available when I called her two minutes after check-in time. General VRBO rep was not helpful. Owner called back ten minutes after check in time and preceded to tell me she sent email with correct code. While this was true, I mentioned that the Smart Phone app information was incorrect and that is what many people rely on when traveling. She never understood this and proceeded to argue with me. Interestingly, the VRBO app on my Smart Phone was updated a few minutes later with the correct. Other than this, the floor in the house is slanted like a fun house. It is in definite need of repair. House also fronts a busy street with many construction trucks going by. Otherwise, easy access to beach and comfy to stay.

GREAT STAY!!

This place was amazing! It truly felt like a home away from home. We came prepared, but we honestly could've packed much lighter. The owner had everything one could need even down to sanitation and dining! Even the location was perfect! I definitely recommend and we will be back! Thanks for everything!!

friends' wedding weekend

We were able to stay at Pelican Ridge over a long wedding weekend - spending time with friends we haven't seen in years. The house was perfectly located in relation to event locations and other friends' spots. It was just the right size for the three of us - and such a short, easy walk to the beautiful beach. The kitchen table was a great spot (and perhaps good luck?) to take my dreaded accounting test that I had to face even though on a short vacay. Thank you for your hospitality and for sharing your home with us!

Lovely Stay

Week long stay for 4 adults in October 2021. This rental is one short walk to the beach out the back of the property and over the dunes via public stairway. Very nice accommodations, clean, neat, and very convenient to beach, shops, and fresh seafood sellers within a mile!
