Moosehead Lake Retreat

Welcome to the pristine Moosehead Lake area. This property has a lots to offer, the home is a beautiful 3 story, first level has two very spacious bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, 2nd bedroom has two new very comfortable twin beds and a spacious full bathroom. Upper level has open room concept, living room, dinning room and full kitchen, with a half bathroom and spectacular views of Moosehead Lake. The bottom level is a spacious bunk-room/ game room offering 4 twin beds, dart board and pool table, two doors open up to a beautiful back yard with picnic area and fire pit. You will also find plenty to do during your stay, we are located right on the snowmobile trail, ATV access, the area offers hiking, biking, fishing, hunting, golfing, skiing,swimming, snowmobiling, pontoon rentals and snowmobiling rentals nearby, and two restaurants a convenience store, bar & grill, shopping is also about a 20 min ride. We offer plenty of yard games, and inside games for rainy days or just sit back relax and enjoy the views from our two decks.

Great place

Best place we have stayed at in Rockwood in the last 5 years. Great location off the road for the dogs, great view of the lake and a beautiful camp/house.

Beautiful! The ONLY reason cleanliness didnt get 5 stars was out of the hosts control. If you are from New England, you know sometimes lady bugs can take over,lol! We just happened to come here in that time frame. AGAIN, I never even brought this up to the host, because it just happens. Im looking forward to staying here again. A pretty solid 10 for us. If you're afraid of bugs, maybe dont stay during this time of year. Didnt bother us much other than then sharing a bed with them, haha!

True Home Away From Home with Benefits!

We absolutely loved our stay. So clean, so roomy, and everything you could need at a home away from home was included in this wonderful home. The land was beautiful with Apple trees and wonderful views of Moosehead Lake.

Very pleasant stay

We had a pleasant time in this clean and well appointed house. Beautiful view of Moosehead Lake from the top porch and from the main room. One significant issue was that the first 2 days of our visit saw temps in the upper 80s and the one small AC in the main room was completely insufficient (the bedrooms have no AC). The other less significant issues were the lack of counter space and the inflexibility when we asked for a bit later checkout than 10AM.

A wonderful stay!

We travel to Rockwood regularly and this was one of our favorite rentals so far…and would love to stay here again! We enjoyed our stay very much and owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Great house in a great area!

We loved this house and had an amazing time. The hosts were very responsive and helped with everything we needed! There was only AC on the top floor (kitchen/LR) and the basement isn’t completely finished. That said, this house is immaculately clean and the views were beautiful!

Hideaway retreat.

The property has everything you need. Keurig with pods, washing machine, paper goods, plenty of linens. There is plenty to keep you occupied, with pool table, day board, etc... The private road sets up and away from the busy street with a beatific view of the manicured grounds and lake across the street. The property owners made it a point to introduce themselves and offer up suggestions for the area. Plenty of parking available and 4 beds, made this a good spot for access to the riding trails. Overall a great spot for a getaway, whether with the kids or just with friends.

Amazing Cottage!

We go to Rockwood somewhat frequently, and have stayed at some of sporting camps in town before, but we found this place and it seemed perfect. It was! We stayed for several days in February for a snowmobile trip. The house is legitimately right on the trail and overlooks the local sled repair shop with gas so within seconds you are out on the trail and ready to ride for the day. This was important for us because we had issues with gas from the only station in town previously. Yes, you do hear/see all the other sleds and the groomer, but that isn't horrible. The house was clean and had all the amenities you would expect. The beds were comfortable and the house was nice and warm. The driveway is a half circle so if you have a trailer you can easily drive in and out without having to back up or jockey around. The one thing I would say is that the road is a private road and very narrow with a super steep hill that starts right from the main road. We were towing our sled trailer and the sun had been hitting the road all day, not enough to melt away anything but enough to make the hill a sheet of glare ice. We couldn't make it up the hill because it hadn't been sanded. But we were able to make contact with the homeowner and the road got sanded. We will book here again!
