Love this place!

I worked with Shelley on any questions and she got back with me so quickly. The house is amazing and has great character. We could tell some things were still being worked on, but overall a fantastic place to rent. The kitchen is phenomenal! We bbq’d, had a bonfire, sat on every deck for morning coffee, and it’s so close to downtown South Haven. The neighbors are absolutely adorable and such a quiet serene location. Can’t wait to come back!

The potential is there...

My family gathered here for a small reunion. Overall it was average. The upstairs rooms other than the master were very hot in the evenings. The air unit in the hallway was not enough to keep the rooms cool especially if you want to sleep with the doors closed. Each room should get their own unit. Windows upstairs didn't have screens so keeping them open at night wasn't a great option either unless you wanted bugs in the room. At night, the upstairs is pitch black so there needs to be some night lights installed especially by the stairway. The description of the property included a washer and dryer but we were not given access to either throughout our stay. Because we had kids we would have liked access; these amenities should be removed if they're not available. The property overall is still a work in progress and a bit under construction. At the time of our stay there weren't any towel-holders in any bathrooms so towels were just laying all over the ground or from anything that resembled a hook. The kitchen lacked a strainer, not enough pots -- there was just one med/large pot and one very small pot. No big serving bowls and no drying rack for the dishes. There were no window coverings at all on the first level. The dishwasher tipped forward once you started loading dishes onto the rack. The bathroom door upstairs wouldn't close all the way or lock. The code to the entry door was unnecessarily long and complicated which resulted in our family getting locked out a few times and having to wait for someone to come and reset it. For the cost we paid for 3 nights which was 2k we were expecting a more complete experience. The house has a lot of potential and once these problems are addressed it should be much better but our experience was not great.

Great experience

The property owners were attentive and very friendly, the place was clean and very accurate with the pictures. Less than 10 minutes to downtown south haven and the owners gave us some recommendations, as well. Would definitely stay here again!!

There was no hot water, no ice, caution tape on balcony, the house was completely unfinished and many safety hazards.

Loved this house!

Location was perfect! The house was large enough for all of us and everyone had a great time! Communication with management was excellent and the owners stopped by to make sure we had everything we needed. Me and my family will definitely be coming back to stay here again. See you next year!

South Haven is a beautiful destination resort town on Lake Michigan. The local hotels are mostly Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express and similar, and they get $260-$340/night for a room, in the busy summer season. So, It is nice to offer visitors this large, 110+ year old renovated farmhouse on 5+ acres and a peaceful pond to view (this home is about the same distance from the shores of Lake Michigan as the hotels)
The neighbors are nice, with the south side neighbor having ~ 10 acres with a large pole barn, pond, solar panels and, recently, a new in ground swimming pool.

The large yard and 2 acre pond and the fields behind it are nice to enjoy, along with the large open kitchen area for gathering and laughing and sharing.
The nearby harbor-front town of South Haven is an easy 4-6 minute drive (less than 2 miles & 2 traffic lights). South Haven is a typical quaint, Harborfront town with over 1,200 boat slips. Lots to do in the summer with waterfront restaurants and many boutique shoppes and, of course,, the lighthouse and beaches, fishing, boating, golf, wineries, etc, etc.
