Exhale by the Fire at Crestview Cottage, 3-person Canoe Included

Our home is a modern cabin located in The Hideout, a premier, four season, 5-star gated community with 24 hr security, nestled within the Pocono mountains. With seasonal views, and only a 10 minute walk (or five minute bike ride) from beautiful Brooks Lake, you can snuggle by the fireplace, relax in front of the fire pit (surrounded by treetops) in the screened in porch or simply exhale in the hammock.

The Hideout has a vast array of amenities for your pleasure: find your zen on our 18 Hole Golf Course, Basketball courts (Int & Ext), Tennis Courts (Int & Ext), gather your family and friends for a softball game on our baseball field, use our 14’ Canoe in one of the Three Lakes, swim or lounge at Two Manmade Beaches, workout at a Full Fitness Center, have fun at the Indoor Arcade with Pool Tables & Air Hockey Tables, or work on your swing at an indoor Driving Range. In the winter have fun on The Hideout Ski Hill (Skiing, Snowboarding, or Tubing).

Escape the city life and exhale in a house with 3 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms, and a peaceful screened in porch with plenty of room to relax with a beverage. The Master bedroom has a Queen bed and private bathroom. Bedroom # 2 has a queen bed. Bedroom# 3 has two sets of bunk beds to accommodate 4. The Kitchen, living and dining rooms have lovely hardwood floors and ceiling fans naturally cool throughout. Air conditioning is also provided.

We went for a girls' get away, we did quite a bit of cooking and the only thing we lacked in the well stocked kitchen was a baking sheet. Otherwise we just relaxed and played a few games. I have MS, while I don't need a fully accessible place, this place is one level with just a few small step ups to the porches. and handy grab rails in the bathrooms. Really cute place! They just need to locate the remote to the kids' bedroom TV :-)

Quiet comfort

Daryl and his co-host Ashley were so very kind and helpful. My husband and I really enjoyed the quiet of being surrounded by nature. The property was very homey and inviting. The couches and bed were very comfortable after a long day running around with family. Had everything we needed as far as amenities. The portable desk allowed my husband to join me in the living room or create his own space in the bedroom when he needed. The welcome s’mores, wine and popcorn were so thoughtful and were great for the back patio. Absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be checking out availability for future visits!

My first stay in this cozy home was in June. It was also my first VRBO rental. I fell in love with the warmth of the home and serenity of the area. It was a much-needed recharge to my busy life. I no sooner checked out and was back online looking to book my next trip, which was this past weekend. As expected, my second stay was just as wonderful as my first, only this time, the autumn trees put on a fantastic show. Everything is taken care of, and the home is well equipped. The only thing I needed to bring was food. The Patterson's are amazing hosts, their home is wonderful, and I love their welcome treats! Working on my hat trick, see you soon!!

The Hideout

Daryl the owner sets you up well! Property MGR is available. We had one small issue. He walked across the street, literally to see us. Nice rental. Everything is as it looks online. No disappointments!

Amazing experience!

Our experience was amazing! This home was very clean and in a great location. The Hideout had many amenities and lots of things to do in the area. The back porch made this home and this is where we had our morning coffee and our evening cocktails. I highly recommend this house and this area for your next vacation! We will be returning!!

Cute House, Gorgeous Porch

The 3 season porch was the best, followed by the "kids room" where our two Boy Scouts watched movies & played on the Wii. The couches were comfy & the beds were Heavenly, oh so comfortable. We forgot shampoo & conditioner, but Daryl had us covered as there were many choices in each bathroom. The boys took the canoe out, but definitely want to explore the pools & game room next time around - we hope to stay at Daryl's place again.

Beautiful Cottage

We absolutely loved the screened in porch for smores and family games in the evening. The house is not directly on the lake but only a short few minutes drive down hill. The house is fully stocked and very clean. We had a wonderful time at the pools and lakes. My dad enjoyed the golf course and we had a greatfamily lunch at the clubhouse. Overall, this a very nice rental for a family getaway.

Comfort

A very warm and welcoming place. Our stay was really nice. We enjoyed the back porch/deck each night. With the cool weather at night we took advantage the fireplace pit. The host and the property manager are really good people. The area is spacious and really nice. A great place to go and we will look to go back again when the time is right.

Beautiful Home and Peaceful Surroundings

I work for an amazing company, but my job is demanding. I had a short window of time before our next busy season starts, so I decided to look for a place where I can have peace and quiet. After searching many properties, I was drawn to Daryl’s place. The pictures were beautiful and the home matched them exactly. Lovely furnishings and decor, spacious living room, 3 nice bedrooms, kitchen with all the amenities you could ask for, 2 large wide-screen TVs, an adjustable work station … I could go on and on. And everything was so comfortable! The enclosed porch, though, was our favorite! I’m a nature lover, so I was in Heaven to be able to sit on a rocking chair and look at the beautiful trees and listen to the sounds of birds singing and the wind moving. The only downside to our trip was that it was too short … I had to be back for an event at work. If it weren’t for my job, we would have reserved a much longer stay. If you are looking for a little piece of paradise that’s within driving distance from NYC or Philadelphia, look no further than Daryl’s place. The only regrets you’ll have is when it’s time to head back home!

One of the many joys of The Poconos is connecting with nature: boating (that's my daughter behind the wheel of a pontoon boat), hiking (listening to the crackle of leaves with every step you take), or simply noticing what silence sounds like outside. Growing up in PA (Pittsburgh) gave me the chance to appreciate city life and rural life at the same time. Spending time here, in The Poconos is a gift to my soul and, hopefully, to yours too.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Initially, my family and I rented this home in 2020 and we immediately appreciated it for both what it is (a modest home that puts nature front and center) AND what it isn't (a crowded hotel complex).

Somehow, by grace, the owner asked us if we'd like to take it off his hands. It seemed too good to be true. So we did what overly suspicious people do and did nothing...until it became obvious to all three of us (me, my wife, and my daughter) that we loved the house, the area, the people, and the amenities.

Buying this place was akin to buying ourselves a natural source of zen.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Probably the best feature of this house is the screened in porch. I have found that is a four season space of quietness, laughter, a beginning of the day in the early morning or late night place to have wine with friends in front of the fire pit, and a place to drift off to sleep in the hammock.
