"Bayou Fever" a Cajun Bayou Paradise -Sleeps 12

This Cajun paradise is dockside on Bayou Long in a fishing community called Stephensville, 1-2 hour daytrips to Lafayette (Cajun country), Baton Rouge (our Capitol City and home to river road plantations, New Orleans (the Big Easy Jazz capital of the world) and New Iberia (tours of Tobassco, Jefferson Island, and Konrico Rice Mill)

The home is surrounded by beautiful cypress trees and is located on a private lane facing Bayou Long in Stephensville, LA. The bayou connects to Lake Palourde, Grassy Lake, Belle River & Lake Verret. Enjoy private pier. Boat launch nearby.

Ground Floor: King Bedroom. Second bedroom has a full-size bunk bed. Full bath, washer & dryer. Large kitchen, dining area and living area. Ground Floor is surrounded by windows to view bayou. Opens to adjoining covered patio, BBQ area, outdoor porch swing and hammock.
Top Floor: King Bedroom with private whirlpool bath/shower. Queen bedroom. Separate full bath/shower. Upstairs loft with two twin beds. Washer/ dryer. Full kitchen and cozy living area including a wood burning fireplace. Living area opens to air conditioned sun porch overlooking bayou. Beautiful stained hardwood floors, cathedral ceiling, doors, and cabinetry.

Family trip

Every year our families meet somewhere for a long weekend and this place was perfect for the adults and children. Plenty of room and the kids had a blast fishing and kayaking. Perfect spot for a family trip.

Family Time

Great Accommodations

After living in south Louisiana for 24 years then moving to the cooler mountains of New Mexico, we still like to come back for Mardi Gras each year. We found this gem & hope to come back many times! Very nice accommodations, comfortable beds, a private "loft" for the teenager, and two separate "units"--one for the older folks and one for the younger family. It was great! Beautiful inside and very clean.

PERFECT Space

Stayed with a group of my university students for a conference and had a GREAT experience! This is a clean, modern, quiet getaway right on the water. Host was super kind and thoughtful - highly recommend, and will stay here again!

Beautiful view

We enjoyed the property, the only complaint was the cleanliness. In the upstairs master bathroom there was mucous on the side of the wall by the toilet. The rooms were big and spacious. Loved having two kitchens and separate living spaces.

Family Christmas

We rented this house for a family Christmas vacation. It was just as advertised! It fit our family perfectly, and was a great central location to spend a day in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and some other sightseeing that we did. My husband and son did fishing off the dock, and caught quite a few! The kitchen was fully stocked with all of the dishes and utensils that we needed to make a full Christmas dinner. The owners were very attentive, and would ask if we needed any information about the area. I would recommend this house to anyone!

Family and friends get together

We had looked for a large nice place that was convenient to family where us and friends could all gather. We are seniors and a couple of the group have health issues so layout of the house was key. The house was GREAT. It was so nice to have a full kitchen upstairs and another one downstairs. Those with health issue could easily get in on the ground floor. The hostess was also wonderful as well. We had no issues while there, but felt assured that if we had, they would quickly be cared for. Unfortunately it rained for the duration of our trip, but if it had not the outside space is also great and we would definitely rent again and have family that may rent at some point.

Enjoyable

Place is as described in listing. Unique that it has 2 separate areas each with its own kitchen and living area - works great for groups of adults. We had everything we needed. The only thing we feel could be improved is that even though it sleeps 12 people - there isn’t an area inside that a group of 6 or more could sit comfortably together. It was cold during our visit and we wanted to hang out by the fireplace. There were 2 recliners and one outdoor chair by the fireplace - so we weren’t able to be together comfortably. And the only dining table was in the built-in porch upstairs and it was a table for 4. These definitely weren’t deal-breakers. We made it work. During more pleasurable weather, we would’ve been hanging outside anyway. And, we wouldn’t hesitate staying there again. Good value. Host was accommodating and communication was great.
