Bayfront eacape

Great house located on the bayfront but away from downtown bustle. Quick Uber ride to beaches/restaurants of Avalon. House was very clean and exceptionally well stocked. Three couples enjoyed all the amenities!

Wonderful family retreat. The property is in the perfect location for access to multiple recreational opportunities. Appreciate the ease of access & great communication with owner. I recommend this house for folks looking to have multiple family generations in one place.

Quiet Oasis

Loved everything about the property. Great location between the parkway and just going over the bridge. The house is beautifully decorated and compliments the stunning view. The host was easy to chat with and I am absolutely stay here again and again!

Weekend Getaway

Priceless views from everywhere in the house. Plenty of space for us to spread out and our dogs loved it. Quiet and secluded neighborhood a plus! Thank you!

Birthday-Get-Away

Very interesting location with an excellent omni directional view. The Avalon 30th Street Beach is wonderful and we had some great restaurants. This home is certainly worth the price of admission.

Thank you for staying and taking good care of our property. In fact, property was used just a few days before your arrival and we clean thoroughly even the decks, however cob webs seems to be a problem around here, we have some industrious spiders ;-)

Not the 5-star experience we hoped for in this price range

This home was a splurge (rules don't allow rates here, but let's say we could have bought 7,000 Arizona teas) to accommodate our family of 12 during 4th of July week. We ordinarily would not stay at a property with no reviews (we have stayed at 30+ rental properties), but given our last-minute planning, decided to take a chance on this brand new listing. Our first night in the property the electric stove top went down in the middle of cooking dinner, and it never worked again during our stay. We were planning to do all of our cooking at home to save on meals and had bought our groceries in advance, planning for many meals that involved a stovetop for prep. The stove going down was a huge cost to us (probably an additional 1,500 dollars in breakfasts out for 12 people and new grill-able food items for dinners), but the biggest disappointment was the owners’ “efforts” to troubleshoot the issue. Our initial review on this issue was too long to post, so suffice to say that we had much back and forth with the owners, no one ever came to troubleshoot, we were reminded several times that the stovetop was not a big deal because of grills available for use (two of which did not work for us, so only the 4th floor one could be used), and were asked to take measurements to help the owners prep for a replacement (that best case would have been installed in the middle of our final day of vacation). Other top issues included: 1) a child injured when a hammock swing dislodged from the ceiling and dropped them to the ground (after telling owners, they informed us hammocks are “decorative” only); 2) inability to bike to the beach (we bike regularly, but to get to the beach, you need to ride on a 50-mph highway with no bike lane/sidewalk, over a very large, steep bridge); 3) difficulty accessing Avalon’s beaches via car (no truly allowable street parking—permitted for residents only). At the end of the day, the biggest issue seems to be that these owners are still learning how to be good rental hosts (when we tried to resolve this offline to spare them a potentially harmful negative review, they told us we should be glad they weren’t charging us for things broken during our stay—things we weren’t even aware existed). If you choose this property, you will be part of the owners’ new rental property experiment, which might be fine if this were a bargain stay, but at a nightly price that exceeds many 5-star hotel prices, I’d recommend taking your money elsewhere.

Sorry to hear how this person felt, the Avalon area tends to be on the expensive side and unaffordable for some. Research is therefore recommended prior to booking. However, attempting to ask for money in exchange for a better review is unethical in our book and will not be tolerated. Cooktop was addressed right away and we have phone call/text and email records to prove that. Property offers an abundance of additional cooking options to choose from - 3 barbeque grills including a brand new kitchenaid with infrared searing, double oven/pizza oven, toaster oven, toasters, waffle makers, etc, etc. Still, we are in disbelief that this person failed to see a single positive aspect of Bay Dream. From the complimentary wine bottle they chose to consume, full stock of utensils, linen, towels, cosmetics and spices, beachware and bikes, amazing 8-person hot tub and views to die for... Please read other reviews for a realistic idea on the Bay Dream experience.

wonderful stay

A group of us had a great stay at Martin and Julia's place in Avalon. The house is about 3 miles from the Avalon beach and town center. Martin was flexible and accommodating with our groups' needs. The house is a beautiful multi-level family home and is stocked with essentials. We enjoyed grilling on the rooftop and hanging out in the very clean hot tub. There is also a shed with beach mats, umbrellas, games, bikes, etc. Everything you need for a nice beach stay!
