Located on the sunset shores of 775 acre all-sports Hess Lake, your family will enjoy hours of fun in the sun boating, fishing, tubing, waterskiing, or roasting marshmallows over a campfire. Hess Lake is known for it's two sand bars for socializing or for a sunset cruise on the pontoon, laughing and drinking with friends!

Great place, lake and boat

We've made so many memories at Hess Lake! We loved the house, lake and boat. This was annual family trip and our 2nd time back at this home! The hot tub was a great addition this year.

Great Stay

The house was very clean and well setup. Owners were great. We stayed with a few families for a Michigan's Adventure trip (about a 40 min drive). Hess lake was the perfect spot to wind down after the park.

Great place for a family vacation!

Gorgeous lake house! We enjoyed every minute of our time here. We rented the pontoon boat, and the lake is perfect size for cruising around and parking at the sandbar, where we spent a few days swimming and throwing the football around. The kids caught lots of small catfish and perch right from the dock. And the lakeside fire pit and deck hot tub were used nightly. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Very helpful hosts

Very nicely laid out cottage. We’ll appointed and tastefully decorated. The hosts were on it when we needed some assistance getting the sink to work - really appreciate the prompt help.

Michigan getaway

Had a great time staying at the property! Rented the boat for two days had an absolute blast on it. Would definitely rent the place again. Everything you can think of is provided if not there's a country store a few min away. Great memories

Perfect Place!!!

We loved our stay! Everything was perfect! The place is decorated so cute. It was absolutely perfect for our group! We loved that we had access to a boat and didn’t have to travel to a rental company. We enjoyed cruising around the lake, swimming and the sand bar. We enjoyed the sunset each night along with bonfires!! The view from the deck was spectacular!!! The hosts were really cool too! We actually ran into them on the lake and got to meet their family!! We’ll be back again!!

This place is really wonderful.

We really had a great time! This cottage is wonderful and perfect! We needed Beach Towels and Toiletries. We brought in Water and Food. We cooked everyday but also ate out a couple of times. The best part, we were able to bring our dogs. They had a great time. We rented the pontoon and would totally do it again EVERY TIME! We hope to be back! Bonus that we saw Bald Eagles, Humming Birds, and Heron. One night having a bonfire a giant bird flew in on the other side of the neighbor's dock. Was it a Swan? Was it a giant Heron? We do not know but we think it sleeps there between the docks. They stock a S'mores box with sticks but stop and get firewood! We wanted to river raft from Newaygo and made reservations but my daughter was not feeling well. We called and they refunded us our money. Owners are nice people, townspeople are nice people, we like nice people. We sat on the deck every night at sunset with our dogs having dinner and family time. I do not think I have played Chutes and Ladders since I was 11... FUN! We highly recommend this property! There are not a lot of pics but trust me, it is a nice place. Very clean, organized, and they have literally thought of everything. :) AJ

Perfect Summer Treat

What an absolutely perfect little cabin on a friendly lake. Amazing views, friendly neighbors and exceptionally kind and accommodating hosts. The Knotty Pine was immaculately clean with all the little details that help make for an amazing stay. Games, coloring books, all the necessary kitchen supplies, adorable decor and more. This property had it all! We loved watching the sunsets and enjoyed a cruise around the lake on the pontoon boat. It truly was the perfect weekend away. Thank you, Patti!

Wonderful stay

We had a great time at the house. It was so easy to check in and communication with our hosts was top notch! Everything was very clean and you can tell lots of thought was put into the guests needs. The kitchen was well stocked, the beds and linens were comfy and everyone in my group felt pampered and relaxed. I would definitely book again!
