Very nice place nestled in the woods

We stayed for about a week and the cabin was amazing. Very clean, close to family and close enough to the surrounding towns. Neighbors were nice and of course our new friend Della who came to play just about every day. Definitely will stay again on our next trip. The property owners were quick to help with questions.The Cauley's

We loved our stay!

I'm so thankful we found this place it was a blessing to our family. We cant wait to stay here again on our next visit to Carthage. We enjoyed it so much I would recommend this place to stay for anyone needing a place.

Perfect cabin in Carthage

We had a wonderful stay in Carthage. The cabin was spacious and welcoming with extra perks including charcoal, plenty of towels and toiletries. The view was gorgeous and it was very peaceful. We loved playing with Della everyday! We will definitely stay here again. Wonderful hosts!

Perfect escape!

We absolutely adored our time at this property! The photos cannot even do justice to what a wonderful local it is! The space is so well utilized and it’s a perfect location to get to waterfalls, trails and Nashville. Host were wonderful and communicated quickly with us! Highly, highly recommend booking here!

Amazing property!

This place is a 5-star stay! So much so that I kinda want to rate it low so it stays off the radar! We had such a nice time. The home was immaculate, communication with Samantha was great, and we had a blast in the area. We can’t wait to book this place again!

Lovely

We had a very nice stay. Everything was as expected. Being away from the hustle and bustle of town was nice but more of a drive than anticipated nor were us flatlanders prepared for the roads in and out. Dellah the neighbor dog is 12/10 a good girl.

Lost in the woods cabin

We had a great stay!! The views were amazing, the place was gorgeous inside and had zero issues. Samantha replied instantly and told us everything we needed to know. The neighbors dog greeted us every morning and we played a short game of fetch. We cooked on the fire pit, wood provided. We were in the woods with a lot of nature around but just a short drive to town. Highly recommended 😊

Home away from home

This was the perfect place for our family to stay while we vacationed in TN. The cabin had everything we needed; the beds were extremely comfortable, the decorations were beautifully done. They provided fans in two of the rooms which was a bonus I wasn’t expecting but very much appreciated. We were able to do laundry with the laundry supplies provided (limited but enough). We loved having coffee on the porch each morning while enjoying the peaceful surroundings and listening to the birds sing. In the evenings we really enjoyed family time with the board games the cabin has. Our kids loved playing fetch with Della, she got lots of attention from us!! It was so fun opening the front door every morning seeing her patiently waiting for us to come and play. The town of Carthage is a beautiful quaint town nestled in the hills with all of the things you could need or want. We enjoyed Timberloft BBQ and Bellacinos pizza by Gordonsville-would recommend both places. All of our meals we cooked at the cabin or packed picnics during our outings. Overall, I would return to this property in a heartbeat. For our family of 5, it was a perfect fit and had everything we needed. Samantha the property owner was extremely responsive and helpful with all of our questions and took care of everything to make our stay special. We didn’t want to leave!!!

Paradise in the woods!

So I learned I only have 1500 characters to review this property and it's not nearly enough. Samantha is the best host I have ever conversed with and she truly has done everything she can to ensure you have to think of nothing. Just bring yourselves, your clothes and get ready to relax and unwind. Or explore and adventure. There is so much beauty from waterfalls, to hiking trails within minutes of the house. We could get to most places we wanted within an hour. Nashville is just a short 45 mins to an hour. So much to say about the property itself. You will find yourself saying "I wish we would've though of or had (x)" and then you find it in a cubbord or a drawer. From fire roasting sticks, to grill sets, to an amazing coffer maker and bar, to games, puzzles, spices, cooking ware and even a Disney waffle maker, it's just the best. My wife and I couldn't get over the morning view on the back deck overlooking the mountains and riverbend. The top floor makes a killer master suite and very romantic. Coupled with a mini split to keep you completely comfortable it's the best, Very clean, above what's advertised and pictures don't do it justice. Della and Dune were daily treats we all looked forward too and were sad when we had to leave them. They are the sweetest dogs and will make you feel like your home away from home. We can't say enough great things about "lost in the woods". We will stay here again if ever possible. A MUST BOOK! Carthage is super cute too, so check it out.

Central peace in the mountains

This was our first trip to TN and we wanted to really see a lot of the state and its a wide state, so we really needed a central location. Carthage was perfect! The cabin is so close to town, yet it's tucked perfectly away for solitude from it all. Cell service is basically nothing in the immediate area, so that was tricky, but it really didn't last long. Ride the wave and enjoy the area lol. Self check in, which honestly, is the only way I want to check in! We were 2 hours behind schedule for arriving, and no one was waiting around on us to show up. BONUS: Duke and Della, the neighboring doggies. Della greeted us every time we came home. They were super friendly and loved play time! The cabin had plenty of space and beds were super soft, honestly almost too soft. The master suite is located upstairs, with a balcony that you just can't beat! There weren't any chairs for the master balcony but I expected that and brought my own. Coffee and a book was my mourning routine, and when it was raining, hardly any water hit me. It was seriously so peaceful! The kitchen was stocked with all the basics and then some. The only thing I found us needing was a pizza cutter. Each room had plenty of area for all four of us, with the exception of the living room- there's only one couch. Surprisingly our diva teens didn't mind using the cubes and floors. The workout equipment is in a large open room in the basement. My husband was able to get multiple workouts throughout the week in privacy. Samantha was very informative throughout the process from booking all the way to checkout. Any time I had additional questions, she was just a message away. Conclusion: Perfect place to stay for a getaway! Just book it, you wont be disappointed:)

Amazing cabin and hosts!

The pictures do not do this place justice. It is beautiful and spacious! My friends and I had a room to ourselves and plenty of space! It was very clean! We had great communication from the hosts and had a great time! We would book with them again in a heartbeat.

We decided to plant roots in Carthage as a part of our bigger plan for retirement and a place to take our daughters for family fun. We decided to open our home to guests because we fell in love with the area and thought others should have the opportunity to explore its beauty and adventure too!

When we are not hosting we enjoy exploring new hiking trails, trying new culinary experiences, and making memories as a family.
