Terrible stay! Grass high. Air conditioner didn’t work for the first night. 88 degrees in cabin. Owner didn’t want to help. Dead rat within first 10 yards of house. It wasn’t pleasant at all. Worked more trying to get things fixed than I have ever before when staying in Hochatown. Overpriced! Pictures are not accurate. 0/10

Beautiful vacation home

Lovely home. Clean, cool, and comfy. We will definitely be back. Kids enjoyed playing/exploring the woods and cooling down in the game room with various games provided. Kitchen was great to cook in as well.

Birthday Party Retreat

We stayed here for my Husband's 50th Birthday party with our kids and our friends. The house is decorated so well, its modern and comfortable. Plenty of space for the 7 of us! The view from inside the cabin looking out into the woods was fantastic. No matter what room we were in, the views were great The high ceilings and large windows really make it cozy, whether your cooking in the kitchen, or hanging out on the couch talking, you have a fabulous view! The kids loved the put-put in the backyard and the hot tub! Tracy was a great and considerate host!

Overall, I was disappointed with this property because the listing photos did not accurately represent what we arrived to.The biggest issue was that the outdoor spaces looked completely different from the listing. The backyard photos showed a beautiful putting green, but in reality there was nothing but overgrown grass. The front yard was also misleading. The listing featured a nicely staged seating area with lighting and a fire pit, but while there was a fire pit, the setup looked nothing like the photos.Inside, the home had several cheaply finished details and maintenance issues that took away from the experience. In the master bathroom, there is a large gap around the sink faucet that looks unfinished. Upstairs, the bathroom threshold has been layered over and continually comes apart when you walk across it. The kitchen items provided for guests also need attention—the electric kettle leaks, making it difficult to use safely. Above the kitchen island, the light fixture is coming loose on one side and appears like it could fall if not repaired.Another disappointment was the sleeping arrangement. The listing advertises the home as a two-bedroom, but the upstairs “bedroom” is really just a fold-out couch in an open area with no privacy. Calling it a true second bedroom is misleading.I do want to acknowledge that the owner was responsive and kindly refunded me 200, which I appreciated. However, had the listing accurately reflected the property I would have passed.

Too good to be true!!!

With no reviews on the rental, I was hesitant to pick it but I’m so glad I did!!! We’ve rented vacation stays for over 20 years and Tracy was the absolute BEST host I’ve ever had the pleasure of dealing with! She promptly answered every single question I had and was so attentive and thorough! From very clear directions to assistance with offline maps to ease of check in, she made the process simple and stress free! She checked in with us daily ensuring we were enjoying our stay and not needing anything. Now to move on to the cabin… if it can even be called that. This place is stunning and top notch! No detail was spared. By far the cleanest place we have ever stayed in and everything about it is luxurious. The area out back is perfect. You can lounge in the hot tub, enjoy a meal, play mini golf. The beautiful stone wall with the gas fireplace (one simple click of a button) completed the ambiance for sure. Inside, literally everything is top of the line and beautiful. Every room is well appointed with anything you may need during your stay! I couldn’t find the qtips I was sure I’d packed. The master bathroom had a little glass container with some on the counter. Some of the family is more cold natured. Soft fluffy blankets are available in the closets. There’s a basket with separate towels for the hot tub. I think the only thing we needed the whole time was ziploc bags. Lol. Being from Louisiana, I wanted to leave Slap Ya Mama seasoning in the kitchen for future guests. It’s great on everything! The setup was perfect and the location was great. It’s far enough out to enjoy the woods and peaceful scenery but close enough proximity to the lake and tourist shops without having a long drive. I would rate it 7/5 stars if I could! My only regret is that we weren’t able to stay longer!!!
