Fully Fenced For Our Furry Friends!

Located on the peaceful west end, Oak Island Brightside offers a spacious living room and eat-in kitchen, three bedrooms, two baths, and laundry facilities. After a day at the beach, the gated porch keeps little ones and pets from straying too far as the grown-ups relax on the swings and deck chairs, soothed by the calming sound of the ocean while ceiling fans above provide a gentle breeze. Recent updates include a new HVAC system, washer/dryer, and kitchen appliances.

There is a king-sized bed in the main bedroom, which is equipped with its own Roku TV and full bathroom. The second bedroom features a comfortable queen-sized bed, while the third bedroom is ideal for kids and teens with a single-over-double bunk bed and a trundle bed that pulls out from underneath.

Clean bed linens are provided in all rooms and will be neatly folded and placed on the beds prior to your arrival.

The front of the house has a large gated porch with two porch swings and three patio chairs, and is cooled by two large ceiling fans. The house is pet-friendly (with a two-dog limit) and pets are given easy access to the fully-fenced backyard. The driveway offers ample parking, and doubles as a pickleball/badminton court (net, rackets etc are included). The side yard offers additional parking and a nearby hose, convenient for boaters. The backyard also has a charcoal grill available for your use, and a second hose near the side entrance, helpful for rinsing off sand after a day at the beach.

Your stay also includes free use of beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, a Bluetooth-enabled portable speaker, and a beach umbrella. The living room features a Roku TV with local TV channels and sign-in access to your Netflix, Prime, Disney, and Hulu accounts. Music fans will love the Bluetooth-enabled portable speaker, with AM/FM radio and the ability to sync with both iPhone and Android. The house also offers excellent WIFI. You'll access the house by entering your unique door code into the smart lock, while a single external security camera provides additional security. Relaxing and comfortable home

Our favorite home at the beach!

This is our favorite place to stay at the beach! It is always clean, has everything we need for a great week, and Brendan is so considerate and responsive to our texts. We love it here, and are already looking forward to next year!

The Great stay

We had an excellent stay at Brightside. Rental was clean, spacious and exactly as described. It is a 5 minute drive to beach (free parking) and 10 min to Lonerider, out favorite restaurant.

Quiet Space a quick golf cart ride to the beach!

Such a great quiet escape with everything you need! Excellent front porch, fenced in back yard, quick golf cart ride to the beach or up and down Yacht. It was exactly what we needed and exceeded our expectations!

Very nice beach home

Clean, attractive home not too far from the beach. We loved the enclosed porch and fenced-in backyard for our pups. It was very convenient having beach chairs and a cooler available to use so that we didn't have to bring those items with us. The host was very accommodating and responded quickly. Would definitely recommend!

Felt just like home!!

We had everything we needed from the minute we walked into this home!! Plenty of towels, toilet paper, paper towels, Kleenex, dish soap, trash bags! We loved the covered front porch with gate so dogs could sit out there with us! Spent lots of time out there!! Will be back next year!!

Lovely Oak Island Getaway

Really enjoyed our long weekend. Nice house & well stocked. Fenced backyard and enclosed front veranda is great for the dog. Neighborhood is very dog-friendly. Traffic is mostly golf carts driving around. It's a short drive to the center of Oak Island, the Lighthouse & the Fort. We had some wonderful fresh fish at Swain's Seafood. Highly recommend that. We hope to return & visit more of the island as well as the beach next time.

Perfect Beach Getaway

This is a great place to stay near the beach. It isn’t beachfront, but in a very nice, quiet neighborhood, about 5 minutes from the beach. There is plenty of beach public access parking for vehicles or golf carts. The house was very clean, with everything we needed and more. There were plenty of sand chairs, and toys for the kids (big and little). That saved us a lot of room packing! Two bathrooms, so easy for everyone to clean up for dinner after a day in the sand. Plenty of space to move around, even with 8 and a Doodle. And a very responsive and considerate host! I would say it was Perfect for our family!

Great Vacation Week at Brightside

We rented Brightside because it was close to our family on Oak Island. The five of us plus the family dog had a great stay. It was nice having towels and sheets provided. Fenced in yard and front porch was very convenient for our dog. We walked the neighborhood every morning, we rode our bicycles to the beach and also took our car. The outside hose to get sand off was very helpful as well. Cooked daily in the well stocked kitchen and enjoyed several movies on the large tv in the living room. Owner was reachable by email and phone and response was very quick and made the check in/out process very quick. Would stay here again.

We visited many of the local North Carolina beaches before we "discovered" Oak Island. What a find! We love the beach, the local history, and the proximity to Southport, which reminds us of the beach towns we frequented growing up. Oak Island is just a great place with a lot to do. And the people are very nice. Nearby Wilmington and Myrtle Beach is an added bonus, with more restaurants and local history to explore.

It's a great location with a lot to do. The Town of Oak Island offers 12 miles of beautiful beaches, as well as numerous amenities including restaurants, golf, tennis, basketball, splash pad, dog park, picnic area, boat launches, and public fishing docks. The proximity to historic Southport is an added bonus, with more great restaurants and local history to explore. And the aquarium in Fort Fisher is just a $7 ferry ride for a fun day trip as well. Myrtle Beach is about an hour away, offering even more golf and attractions, dolphin tours and fishing trips, for those wanting to take a break from the beach scene.

We get high marks for cleanliness, responsiveness, and amenities. But nothing beats the serenity of morning coffee or late afternoon beverages on the deck, with the ceiling fans providing a gentle breeze as wildlife and friendly neighbors cruise by on the quiet street out front.
