Get away from the city and come enjoy this beautiful country property, very close to the Taconic State Pkwy and upstate towns of Millbrook, Rhinebeck, Beacon, Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Pine Plains. Swim in your private and heated salt-water pool (open during the summer months Memorial Day thru Labor Day), enjoy hikes and beautiful upstate towns and attractions, then fall asleep to the sounds of nature in your private oasis. Play with dwarf goats, pick your own organic eggs from our hens, BBQ and eat outside or light a fire in the fireplace in the winter time, cook a favorite meal, read a book, Fubo live TV, Netflix, Prime, Disney+... Everything you want is here. Meet Bruno the goat, greet our hens, cats, dogs.

Beware the cottage is not child-proofed and the pool, glass decorations and stairs may present a safety issue for younger children, no child gates are available.

Cute little cottage, nice pool. Good wifi and close to beautiful garden, Innisfree. The property could use a bit if TLC, the stairs up to the bedroom are very creaky and the driveway would be better with 4 wheel drive. It is directly next to the Taconic which is handy but you will hear traffic noise.

Excellent business location to get work done and relax.

Perfect location for business trip. Very quiet, private and peaceful location. Owner Frank was outstanding and had everything all set upon my arrival. Cottage was warm lights were on. Specific details to enter, egress and enjoy.

Such a peaceful place

Such a peaceful relaxing weekend with all the amenities of home. Great family on property with goats and chickens. Such a fun place. Will definitely be back!

Great pool!

The cottage was very clean, and the pool was amazing. The kitchenette is very small and has very little storage room. It’s very difficult to cook anything but a microwave meal or something reheatable. I found the musty odor quite bothersome, but did not bother my husband.

Magical, rejuvenating & relaxing

The Lucky Goat is a one-of-a-kind destination that is truly outstanding. Love the adorable chickens and goats, walking distance from the cabin, that are adorable and very friendly. The pool was perfect and we used it daily. It was clean, private, and partially shaded most of the day due to its location between the cabin and trees. We used the kitchen facilities to make most meals and drank coffee on the different deck and patios depending on the weather. Frank is a fantastic, accommodating host and we hope to come stay again in future.

Tranquility at its finest

Memorial Day weekend couldn’t be better I was looking for a place where we can escape the madness of the city, Frank’s place is where it’s at. The pool being heated was a plus , and the cabin was extremely cozy , I would recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend of tranquility!!

Very nice stay

My husband and I are older. 60s and 70s. The stairs going up to the bedroom were a little steep. Was a little scary in the middle of the night since the bathroom is on the first floor… other than that very nice stay.

A very lucky goat!

The Lucky Goat is a very quaint, picturesque little cottage! Loved its character, with a mix of old-timey decor and a reasonable amount of modern convenience. Would love to stay there again if the occasion should arise.

Week in NYC

We stayed at this cabin in Pleasant Valley and took the train into the city each day leaving from Poughkeepsie. Quiet, clean, everything was just as advertised. Host and family were responsive and friendly. Although the pool wasn't open, I'm sure it's amazing in the summer. We would definitely stay again.

Clean and Affordable

The cabin is simple and clean, and the host is a good communicator. It served us well for the time we were there. It feels private while not being too far from town as well. Overall it is great for the price.

Nice older cabin

The cabin overall was quite comfortable, although you should keep in mind that it is relatively old, so the stairs creak a lot and the couch was a little saggy. The kitchen was supplied with all the essentials and the linens were good. Be prepared in cold weather that the provided room heater was necessary but did a good job of keeping the cabin cozy (although the bathroom was pretty chilly). The chickens were outside in the morning which was cute. Note that you need to provide your own firewood but there are places to buy close by. Overall if you don’t expect luxury accommodations, you should be pretty comfortable here.

2nd visit to the Lucky Goat

We really wanted a weekend getaway from the city and decided to return to The Lucky Goat because we enjoyed our first stay so much. It was really great and cozy and perfectly relaxing!

Exactly like the photos, peaceful and cozy

We had a great holiday weekend at the Lucky Goat cottage. Super easy check in and once we got settled, it felt like home. Rustic but comfortable and got really good nights sleep! It was quite cold that weekend but the space heaters provided did a great job of keeping us comfortable. Would definitely stay again!

The place exceeded our expectations. Truly rustic and gives you the country feel despite being not far from the highway. The host is magnificent and made sure that everything was in order. The perfect place to escape the city but not be too far as well.
