Secluded getaway

The property was great. If you have a boat and are looking to get out on Kentucky Lake, check this place out! The boat ramp is 5 to access, but if you're looking for a spot that doesn't get a ton of traffic, this is it.

Little things mean a lot

For several years, our family has rented a “Christmas Cabin”. To stay closer, we found the Raccoon Retreat. I spoke with Brian and he was very nice & caring. My daughter and I went a day early to rest and relax before the others arrived. Inside the house was attractive, roomy, & seemed clean. Much better than the leaf covered driveway, sidewalk and deck suggested. Since the garage was the only way we found the lower drive, we unloaded in the basement and hauled everything upstairs, making it rough since neither my daughter nor I can carry heavy boxes. When we finally got everything upstairs, my exhausted & hurting daughter sat on the large, comfy sofa only to find a dead squirrel there. I called Brian, but being late, I had to remove & dispose of the carcass, releasing “that” odor all in the upper floors. We had to sanitize the sofa & clear the air before we could sleep. The next day we had to sanitize anything possibly contaminated so my 20mo. old wouldn't ingest something and get sick. It's the details that prevent a 5 star rating. The leaf covered driveways, sidewalk & deck made it look neglected. It's the bedroom door not shutting until you moved the bed, no extra blankets, unswept garage, lack of toilet paper, etc, that brought it down. Brian said he'd compensate me for the clean up & paper goods. Guess bio-hazard isn't worth much. Fortunately, we had cleaning supplies with us and we still enjoyed our Christmas.

Thanksgiving getaway

Manager was prompt in replying to our concerns. Cleanliness was not to our expectations but we did not let that ruin our time here. Very spacious, remote location. Bare bones with extra blanketss and towels. Overall we had a good time.

Friends Hunting & Fishing Trip

Our friend group is one of a kind. We enjoy hanging out together any chance we get. Making memories, cooking together and watching the Football games. Thankful for our stay at Raccoon Retreat.

Secluded Work Trip

We fell in love with this cabin! We needed a secluded place near Clarksville for coworkers to collaborate and tackle some business planning tasks. This place was definitely the perfect spot! It's an extremely clean property with all the necessary amenities and more. The communication from the property owners was excellent! We will be staying again in the future! Thank you!

4th of July trip

Great location, close to the boat ramp and marina. Plenty of parking and the house was outstanding and plenty of room to spread out. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to spend a long holiday weekend. Walking distance to the Leatherwood marina and Pirates Cove for great food and live entertainment. Short drive to Miss Kay’s restaurant for additional food and entertainment. Great host and easy to communicate with.

Great Memorial Day weekend

Raccoon Retreat was the perfect place to host our yearly Memorial Day weekend trip. The house is located close to the marina for launching our boat and the bar and grill was within walking distance. The house came stocked with anything you'd need for comfort. We had a party of 12 and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and relax. Will definitely be back!

Fishing Tournament

We were in town for a college fishing tournament. The cabin had plenty of space for two trucks with boat trailers and easy access to an outlet for charging purposes. The college boys had plenty of room downstairs to spread out and the ladies stayed on the main floor and in the 3rd floor bedroom. We sat on the porch much of the time we were there to enjoy the peaceful outdoor setting. Paris, Murray, and Franklin were some of the places we visited while the boys fished. We fixed dinner at the house each night in the well stocked kitchen. We had a wonderful stay and hope to return again. Brian was an amazing host and excellent communicator. Five stars all around!!!

Spring Break 2024

This is the second year we have came to the Racoon Retreat. My best friend, her family, and mine all stayed together. It fits our two larger families. The kids played until they fail. With ages ranging from 11-17 that is a miracle. They weren’t on electronics and basically fished the whole time. They rode their mini bikes, played football, watched the NCAA tournament on the projector we brought, and played hide and go seek for hours. It was so nice to see them all be kids again and not with their faces in their phones. This place fits our families so well. We will for sure be back! They also offered a military discount! Thanks again Pace Vacation Homes for another successful Spring Break!

Home away from home

This home was just that...a wonderful home away from home. On several occasions the family expressed they could live here. Although we can't live here we will definitely be back. We stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed the amenities that provided comfort, convenience and enjoyment to our stay. I contacted Brian with questions and he was quick to respond with answers and help. He felt like "family".

Cozy, cute cabin

We're a family of 6 (kiddos aged 2-17) and 2 grandparents that stayed at the cabin. We found plenty to do on the area to stay entertained. Cabin seemed to have everything one would need for several overnights. (If you have toddlers, I'd recommend bringing childproofing things- outlets/ cabinets/ stairs). Cabin was clean and well taken care of. Brian was quick to respond to text. We enjoyed our long weekend, good memories were made. :)

Perfect

We needed 10 beds and room for our fantasy football draft....and Raccoon delivered. Great facility near the Kentucky Lake in a central location for all. Brian is a fantastic host that is easy to contact and made sure we had everything we needed. Give this rental a strong consideration for any event you may have coming up.

Very nicely furnished house

The house worked very well for our family of 8. It was decorated very nicely and stocked with kitchenware we needed. We fell in love with the round table that seated 8 (and had a neat turntable), and we had many nice family meals around it. The area is a bit isolated from things to do, so we had to drive a ways away to do most things, but I think that is normal for that area. Some things we did were finding a church in the area to worship on Sunday, taking a day trip to Nashville (about 2 hours away but well worth the drive), touring Fort Donaldson that was closer by, renting a pontoon and spent a day on the lake, and checking out the town of Paris.

Great place

We had a wonderful and relaxing time at this cabin. It was very clean and spacious and had everything you could need. A short walk to the marina; we only wish we had been able to stay longer!
