Nestled in the woods on Lake Hamilton's Long Island, The Owl House is a peaceful oasis for a family getaway or friends' adventure. Located off Central Avenue, we are just minutes from all the famous Hot Springs attractions!

The Owl House is an A-frame home and has been completely updated for 2022 with new appliances and granite. The large covered patio is perfect for having a lunch or reading a book! For longer stays, we have a washer and dryer, smart TV, and a desk and wifi for digital nomads.

The space: The house has two units, one upstairs (also available on Airbnb) and one downstairs, with separate entrances. You have exclusive access to the downstairs unit, the covered patio, and carport. There are two bedrooms, one bathroom, and an open living room, dining room, and kitchen.

Overall great experience! Love the house and how quiet it was. Very small mix up on getting the place cleaned prior to arrival but totally understandable with us coming right after the 4th of July weekend. Scott had the situation handled immediately and even covered a good portion of dinner while the cleaners came by and took care of it. Highly recommend if you are looking for something out of the way but still close to everything!

Overall, it was a super cozy yet comfortable place for our small family. The location was close enough to local dining, shopping and kid friendly activities. It was in a super quiet and peaceful area. If any complaint had to be said, it would be additional need for towels. But since the property owners provided detergent and there was a washer and dryer inside of the house, it really wasn’t too terrible to do laundry a few times. In fact, it made it easier for when we got home. Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Everything was as advertised. We had a great weekend. Clean house with all supplies needed. Only downside would be we didn't think we had control over the AC? We set the temp at 70. It was a hot weekend and the temp never got below 74 inside the house. Luckily we brought a fan that we used to circulate the air with all inside doors open. Overall, I would stay there again!

Place was perfect, with plenty of privacy. The covered parking was a bonus as well. Short drive to downtown & bathhouse row, a little over an hour to the Crater of Diamonds State Park. Everything was clean, organized, & easy to find in the kitchen. Would definitely rent this property again.

The property outside needed some work. Lots of spiders and webs. We had ants in the house as well. The beds was very uncomfortable and the air didnt work properly. We also ran out of items such as toilet paper. The air and spiders was the biggest complain. The has a lot of potential but definitely needs some work. The look as if it hadn't been sweapt in months. We will definitely not stay here again. Also the beds didnt have a frame it was literally On the floor.

Hi Amy! We hate to hear you didn't have a great stay with us. Had you brought any of this to our attention during your stay, we would have been more than happy to address them. Secondly, our beds are not on the floor. They both have frames under them. We have our home sprayed routinely for pests, so I am truly sorry you dealt with ants while you stayed. Take care!

We had a fantastic stay at this property and would absolutely come back. One of the standout features was the privacy—it truly felt like our own space without any distractions.The home itself is very spacious, with plenty of room to spread out both indoors and outdoors. It never felt cramped, even with a full group, and the layout made it easy to enjoy both shared time and quiet moments.The amenities were excellent and clearly well thought out. Everything we needed was provided, making the stay comfortable and convenient from start to finish. We like the property overall it needed a few maintenance items. The toilet seat was loose. One of the cabinet handles was loose cobwebs on all the lights outside in the little deck area the AC they might want to have it checked it sure struggled when it got up in the upper 70s, but we enjoyed it. Just a note we had no idea that there were people staying in the upper floor of the place that separate access but we were shocked to see him there.

We loved the Owl House! Check-in was simple, and the home was clean and attract and the perfect size for the two of us and our two pups. We like to cook, and the house provided everything we needed for both indoor and outdoor meal prep. We really liked being close to town without being in the middle of it. We'd love to stay there again someday!

Such a charming place! The location was perfect, and less than a mile from local family. If more space is needed, the upstairs is also a rental with a separate entrance. I could see that noise could be an issue if you are wanting a totally quiet space. We didn’t have time to enjoy the porch, but will definitely be back when it’s warmer to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

The house worked perfectly for us to join in a family reunion just half a mile away on the island. Very clean, well equipped, slept well on the comfortable bed. Love being in the woods. Would return again.

The property was great! Very clean and had such great attention to detail. We really enjoyed it and would definitely stay here again. Just to note there is a unit upstairs that is occupied.

We only stayed for an hour or so. First impression was that in pics the property appeared to be a bit more secluded than it was. It is really close to the houses around it and the upstairs portion is a separate rental. The house was very clean on the inside but an overpowering moldy smell (think cellar/water damage) was too much for us. We hoped it would settle after the air was turned down but it didn’t. We messaged the owners that we just couldn’t stay due to the smell and a couple hours later got a message that they hoped we were settling in well. We didn’t receive a response until the next day in response to the message we sent.I requested a one night refund, not for both nights we booked. The owners denied it because we didn’t allow them the opportunity to inspect it and they had never noticed it before. It was clean, but my husband and I couldn’t handle the smell and I can’t imagine a quick remedy for the problem. We ended up just paying for a hotel for the night then going home. I haven’t rented through Vrbo before but am now pretty hesitant to do it again. Unfortunately smell doesn’t reflect in pictures.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We love A-frames and immediately were interested in The Owl House. It needed a lot of work, but we admired the style and cozy rooms. We did the renovations ourselves, spending a couple of months remaking the interior. The kitchen got a new stove, dishwasher, microwave, and granite counters for 2022. It has been a labor of love and we have enjoyed seeing the property be transformed and restored.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We have a great location, on an island of Lake Hamilton. It's convenient for anything at the Lake and also only 10-15 minutes to downtown Hot Springs. It's a quiet, safe neighborhood away from the busyness of town. We really enjoy sitting on the porch in the morning, with a cup of coffee, and listening to the birds.
