Enjoyable cabin

The cabin was clean and comfortable. The manager was easy to talk to and quick to fix anything that's not working right. It had multiple places to enjoy the view and multiple places to sit and enjoy eating outside. We look forward to staying here again.

This deck keeps us coming back

We love the additional deck closer to the lake. Beautiful view, many lawn chairs and combination sun and shade. The owners care about their property and it shows.

It was a great little cabin!! Bummer we booked with the Algae bloom so we couldn’t swim or use the beach. But the sun deck was perfect for sunbathing everything you need was there. We would definitely come back just maybe earlier in the year so we could use the beach and water!!

Pleasant weekend getaway!

We enjoyed fishing, golfing, a local diner, and taking walks around the lake property, as well as the magnificent views from the cabin. We found the cabin to be very comfortable with all its amenities. … very nice hosts.

Nice and relaxing!

The cabin was just like the description and the outside deck was so nice with a great view and the perfect place to relax. Plenty of area for kids to play especially down in the beach space.

Great little cabin on the lake

A few friends and I met each other for a weekend stay. Other than the weather not cooperating, the little weekend trip was perfect.

Hidden Gem - 1hr from the twin cities

Had a fabulous time at this property. The pictures online made the cabin look more rustic than it actually was. It was extremely well taken care of and comfortably fit the 3 adults and 2 small children we had on the trip. The outdoor seating areas were exceptional, fishing was better than expected and the owners were very attentive. I would highly recommend this property, especially with it having such a convenient location for people living in the twin cities.

Perfect family getaway!

This property was perfect for a family getaway weekend. We spent 4 days here and had a blast. So many amenities for everyone to enjoy, spent time in the lake, fished off the floating dock, went hiking, enjoyed bonfires lakeside. No one could claim boredom! We also loved having 3 separate bedrooms - we played hard and slept well 😊 My (mom) favorite spot was the detached deck that overlooked the beach and dock! Amy was a great communicator and host. We highly recommend to anyone, especially families!

Terrific communication with very nice owners

Great place to relax. Owners thought thru every necessary detail! Comfy beds. We did try to use pullout sofa but truly the mattress needs to be replaced. Just slept on couch. Great location to Twin Cities. Owners are very nice and responsive. Would come again. Looks like it would be a terrific place in the summer!

Winter Respite Vacation

I'm a full time Family Caregiver who loves getting Mom and Siblings away for respite vacations. This property on Pokegama Lake, Neil & Amy were just what the Doctor ordered! The short drive from the Twin Cities but the Up North Cabin on the Lake feel with Four Seasons appeal is great! Restaurants on the lake, shopping in Pine City, and plenty of entertaining activities all around. Then there is fishing opportunities with plenty of water to explore and honey holes to find! If Neil & Amy continue renting this property then hopefully we can come back! Thanks for allowing us to come here and make some more family memories! Rob, Peggy, Lynn and Missy 🎣🧔👍

Owners were very nice but property location just wasn’t a good fit for us. The water was not swimmable, looked like green paint was spilled in water, so unsafe for kiddos. Air conditioning just wasn’t enough for the hot weekend. Two of the bedrooms and living room had no AC so were pretty uncomfortable. Could be fixed by just adding a couple more window units. Ceiling fans were also pretty dirty so couldn’t run those. Refrigerator also had some black mold and we cleaned best we could but it should be replaced. By end we just wanted to get home unfortunately.

We are sorry that you didn't have a better experience. The lake is unpredictable. It changes from day to day. We would have addressed your concerns regarding the ceiling fans and refrigerator promptly if you had let us know. Heat and humidity cause those things to get dirty quickly. I wish you could have stayed with us when it wasn't the hottest weekend of summer. We have added another air conditioner, hoping to help the next guests on a hot and sticky weekend.

Hello! We are Neil and Amy Jennissen. We bought this property with Neil's cousin and his wife back in 1996. We have loved spending week ends here with family and friends over the years. We love this place so much, we built our empty nester home right behind it! Yes, that big garage is where we live. No worries, you will not be sharing things with us. Your group will have the three bedroom cabin, two decks, dock, and yard all to yourself. The beach and swing set are shared with the neighbors.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This is the place to come if you need a get away with out the long drive. We are just off Interstate 35 near Pine City. Lake Pokegama is connected with the Snake River and Cross Lake in Pine City. This gives you acres and acres of water to play on and explore!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Once you unload and get settled, you can spend the rest of your getaway on or near the water. Take your boat a or a rented boat to one of the two restaurants on the lake. You can take a boat into Pine City and explore all that our town has to offer. Kayak from our place to the Snake River and paddle the day away.
