Rained both days we were there but still had a great time. A doe and her two fawns spent both afternoons fattening up on acorns for the winter. The enormous picture window in the family room provided great views of the deer. The thank you card on the table was a friendly gesture and a great touch. Thank you for sharing your place. We’ll be back.

Michigan Fishing Trip

Maggie's Place was perfect for our two week fishing trip. it is located equidistant between the three branches of the Au Sable River.Accommodations were perfect and Scott and Linda were wonderful hosts.

AuSable cabin

Nice cabin near the river, not far from Grayling (-12mi). Lots of critters to watch. Good communications with host. 3 mi from Wakeley Lake, a no motor, walk in spot for fishing (check the refs), no hiking.

All you need and in a quiet wooded spot

The cabin is very close to the Au Sable River and the Wakeley Landing. You cannot see the river from the cabin and there is no direct access to the Au Sable, but there is a small creek in the front yard. The backyard frequently has a deer walking through it. The home is comfortable and had what we needed for our short weekend. We hiked at nearby trails. Kayakers and fisherman will like this location.

20th Anniversary

Saw deer and turkeys on several occasions in the yard. A doe even came out during our campfire…. Thinking she wanted to share the s’mores. Nice vacation. Thank you.

Lovely Cabin and Property

Perfect property for a family gathering with lots of room in the living room, dining room and kitchen. Although we didn’t use the game room, the photos on the listing do not do it justice. This room was amazing with areas for crafts, playing cards and games along with another gas fireplace and large screen TV. We enjoyed the fire pit, the wildlife, and sitting by the stream in the front yard. We’ll be back!

Long weekend get away

Cute cabin with everything we needed. Right by the AuSable River for fishing canoeing and kayaking. Very clean would definitely stay again

Wonderful cabin

What a wonderful little cabin in the woods! We enjoyed the peace and quiet offered by the location. It is nearby many outdoor activities. The cabin was clean and had all the comforts of home. We will be back.

Maggie's Place - summer weekend

This place fantastically clean, and had everything we needed for a long weekend stay. It was an excellent location for the hiking we wanted to do. It was close enough to Grayling to make use of the restaurants and stores there, but far enough out to enjoy the serenity of the woods. The place had a Northern Michigan cabin feel, but with clearly updated amenities and furnishings. Just the right mix of vintage charm and modern!

Location, Location, Location!!!

You couldn't find a better located rental to fish the entire Au Sable river system. Close to Grayling. Close to all the major public access points on the Main stream, North and South branch. The amenities were excellent. Check/Out instructions were concise. As the wifi/TV is satellite based, it can get sketchy during bad weather but I wasn't there to watch tv. Saw turkeys and deer roaming the yard and got to enjoy the firepit. With the exception of a TASTY jar of preserves, the fridge will be empty, so bring what you need for your stay. Never got to use the bonus room but it was reassuring to know that if I needed a specific fly, I could tie one up in a jif with the supplies on hand. Highly recommend.

Wonderful Stay!

We would definitely stay here again. Everything was clean, well organized and the recent upgrades create a very comfortable stay. We did some hiking in the area but there is also fishing, kayaking and canoeing options nearby.

Wonderful stay at Maggies

I spent a wonderful long weekend at Maggie's with my two teen sons. The property was very clean, comfortable and exceeded my expectations. It's in a lovely private spot just a short walk to the Wakely Bridge Access point. It's surrounded by nothing but trees. We had wildlife in the back yard every days, deer, turkey, and black squirrels. The hosts were very responsive and very friendly. It was a wonderful time and we hope to be back soon.

Great stay, plenty of room for a lot of folks and we pulled off a great Thanksgiving Dinner. So looking forward to another stay next year.

Perfect Paradise!

This is an amazing little gem especially for the price! Linda and Scott are amazing hosts. Linda was super quick to respond to emails. The property itself is just gorgeous. The moment you step out of your car, you can hear the little creek running at the edge of the property. Abundance of wild life to watch from the living room or kitchen windows. Super close to the au sable river for fishing, kayaking or whatever your water needs may be. The property inside and out are VERY clean with lots of amenities. There was nothing lacking when it came to a fully stocked kitchen, all pots and pans, utensils and many other items were there if needed. Although there is no AC, we opened windows and used the fans provided which gave the house the perfect temps for day and night. Would 100% rent this place again.
