It was the perfect peaceful place for us to stop halfway home. Sitting by the river was so peaceful. We didn’t stay for long, just to sleep, but it would be the perfect place for a family getaway.

What a darling, cozy , charming place. Feels like someone let you into their home and shared a peice of their little heaven. The property & surrounding is beautiful and peaceful.

Our stay was wonderful, loved the location and on the beautiful ausable river. The cottage is just as listed. Emily responded to any questions we had right away, excellent communication! We will be back again!

We stayed a night on our way home from the UP. The house is very well supplied and comfortable. Location was convenient to get off/on interstate.

Quiet and simplr

Great place to stay for a trip to the orv trails. The sandy entry into the river made for a good makeshift ice bath after a long day. Will try to stay again if in the area.

Absolutely wonderful property! My kids 5 & 3 loved the house, the river and surrounding area. It was so quiet and peaceful here and this home had everything! So much charm! We recommend the otsego lake for more swimming. 11 for a daily pass and 15 minutes up the road. This house was close enough to everything we needed, but also far enough away for serenity. Wonderful vacation!

Beautiful setting on the Au Sable River! Great place would highly recommend this charming home to anyone who enjoys a great Northern Michigan River experience. My wife felt instantly at home in this well maintained house. Hosts were fantastic and communication was great! Also the area restaurants were fantastic in Frederic, perfect vacation getaway!

Cross country ski weekend

This house was perfect for two couples getting together to ski nearby. The house was clean and cozy and the views were beautiful.

Cozy, clean and peaceful house with everything we needed! River is beautiful and peaceful Bring your mosquito repellent in the summer as they’re thick with no wind. Although this is near the river, we thought cleaning up some of the weeds in/around the yard may help keep the mosquitoes down. Also, a few newer cooking pans would be great. Otherwise, such a peaceful retreat.

Weekend getaway with my girls!

We needed a place to stay for a weekend while attending a birding event at Hartwick Pines State Park. Emily's home is very warm and welcoming - beautiful location right on the river. Great communication / quick to respond to questions. My only complaint - which is not Emily's fault at all - is the mosquitoes were very bad. Make sure you bring heavy duty repellent. Very charming place - would definitely stay there again.

Semi retired couple

We were there to rest. This quiet peaceful setting is just what we needed. Nicely stocked kitchen for meal prep and eating outside on the deck listening to the sound of the river. When the rain arrived we still enjoyed the scenery via large windows.

Fun on the River

Property was clean, well-appointed with everything needed for a weekend with a family of four! The owner was easily contacted and responsive. The river was PERFECT for the kids to swim and fish. I'm pretty sure we spent 6 hours straight out on the dock and in the water. Beds were very comfortable, and having two bathrooms was perfect. We highly recommend this property!

Quiet, Peaceful & Just What We Wanted

We stayed three nights and had a lovely time. We were just looking for a quiet getaway and found exactly what we wanted here. We canoed one day nearby, floated in the river in the backyard one day, and stayed in one day just lounging around. The house was well equipped and clean. Check I was simple and the neighborhood was safe. Beautiful view. Thank you, Emily.

Adorable Farm House on the river

Was a great few nights, The house was very clean, beds comfortable, 2 bathrooms, plenty of storage and ,very spacious, nice fireplace to use as it was a bit chilly. Older quaint farmhouse, loved the piano, and the decor representing the owner who lived there before. Outside by the river was nice, would have loved to see a little bit of tidiness outdoors. The property is a good size, a good weedwacking would show the property so much better. We would love to come back.

River Fun

We had an excellent trip. River was amazing and we especially liked reading the Legends of the Au Sable book that was left for guests. House had everything we needed including toiletries and extra blankets. Visiting the state park nearby was a highlight. Did not care for the camera in the backyard that I could hear every time I walked by while playing bocci ball. Recommend taking food with since there are only two bars and a dollar general in town. Emily was kind enough to drop off extra kayaks when I inquired if there were any for us to use. She also made addition accommodations for us and I appreciate that very much. We didn’t get the warmest weather so are interested in visiting again in the future. Thanks for being a great host.
