Peace and Quiet

We couldn't ask for a more tranquil home with an incredible view of the Sand Dunes which was an easy drive to get to, as well as to Zapata Falls.Barbara is truly a super hostess answering all questions quickly, reliably, and her home had everything we needed - including a flashlight to go to the Dunes at night.We would love one day to return here with our grandchildren!! Anyone who appreciates the beauty and serenity of nature should stay here!

AMAZING LOCATION

This very private property has the best views of the Sand Dunes and is only about 10 min from the entrance to the park. We loved sitting on the deck with a cup of tea each morning. There is plenty of room for 4 adults and the kitchen was fully stocked.

The property had a great view and lots of privacy. The accommodations were comforting and relaxing with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Communications with the host were friendly and questions were quickly answered. We are definitely looking forward to a return.

Beautiful home in convenient location

I absolutely love this property. Great Sans Dunes National Park is a quick 10 minute drive up the road, which was the reason for our visit. What an easy drive!It was wonderful communication with Gail, she was so helpful and kind. She also has FRESH flowers in the home which you don't see anymore. The home was decorated beautifully and it was perfect for us. Everything was comfortable. I'd absolutely stay here again on my next visit!

We were all very happy with the property and the Host. We enjoyed beautiful views and comfortable accommodations. Just a few suggestions: In smaller bedroom - drawer space, queen bed, something for hanging clothes in the closet. In the kitchen - 12x16 inch rimmed baking sheet.

The Best Oasis

Barb's home was so comfortable. She put so much thought into every detail with more useful items than I would have thought to ask for. There were also fresh flowers that really put the cherry on top. The location can't be beat to enjoy the night sky and drive to Great Sand Dunes National Park. We loved stopping by Great Sand Dunes Oasis on the way to the park, but knew we were already at the best "oasis."

Incredible Location

Had a tight agenda and wanted to stay close to the dunes. The sky and view were incredible. Beautiful, comfortable home. The check-in process was a bit tricky for us as were were late arriving due to travel delays. You must be let in to a gated community and escorted to the house which is a problem if you can't arrive at a reasonable hour, but well worth it!

This is a very special property. Beautiful home with everything you need. Spectacular views, convenient to all attractions near the Sand Dunes, literally just minutes away, So many special touches, fluffy bath towels, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, fresh flowers, comfy couch, beautiful setting areas front and back of the house, full kitchen and it’s super clean. At night you walk out and the Milky Way is right above you!!! It was quiet and so so peaceful. Barb our host was wonderful and just welcomed us and made sure our needs were met. This property is above and beyond any place I’ve stayed over the many years I have come to the Sand Dunes. I will definitely return and honestly I’m thinking about going back for another stay this year because we had such a good time. I highly recommend this property.

Great location to the Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls

We had a great time visiting the Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls for our first time. The location of the house is excellent - only a 5-10 in drive to the dunes and Zapata Falls - and we enjoyed exploring around the property. The house was clean and well stocked, although we did bring all of our own food from home. Two suggestions for improvement - more towel hooks in the bathrooms for hanging bath towels to dry, and new/additional cookware. There are no sheet pans to cook anything in the oven and the skillet pans are old and damaged (non-stick coating is cracked and coming off). Otherwise the house is great!

Far from the madding crowds

The house was clean, uncluttered with well appointed art and comfortable furniture and it’s set in a very peaceful quiet location on the hilltop. Just stepping onto the porch and listening to the birds and wind slowed time and was very calming. Barb is a wonderful hostess and allowed an extra hour so we could shower after an early morning hike. This an excellent place for families who appreciate being in a safe quiet place away from shopping traffic and noise. Highly recommended and look forward to returning wife longer stay

As close as you can get to Great Sand Dunes NP!

We had an amazing stay and were one of the closest homes to the park. House is very remote and secluded - I considered this a plus as we weren’t looking to go out to dinner, etc. Be sure to do your grocery shopping in Alamosa prior to arrival. Barb was super responsive and the home was clean and spacious. The back porch has perfect views of the mountains and sand dunes and the night sky is breathtaking with no light pollution! I highly recommend this if your looking for a quiet spot to get away for a few days to hike and explore the park!
