Weekend Getaway

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros:The beach view was absolutely breathtaking, with easy access to the sand just steps away. The large balcony was perfect for relaxing, and the property offers multiple pools, hot tubs, and—my personal favorite—a lazy river. The condo itself was very spacious for our family of four, but it easily could have accommodated three more guests. The beds were comfortable (we didn’t use the bunk beds), and there were even a few water boards available for use. A small tip: if you park on the 5th floor of the garage, this unit is the closest to the lot, which makes unloading super convenient.Cons:The sliding doors were a little tricky to operate. There’s no formal dining table, but the kitchen bar and balcony table work well enough. We had minor internet issues during our stay, but they were resolved promptly.Overall:I would definitely recommend this condo to anyone. The photos on the website don’t do it justice—the current layout and décor are much nicer than what’s pictured.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Destin West as a property was very nice but the condo was a disappointment. The furnishings and decor were very outdated. The living room chair was stained, the couch was uncomfortable and old. The living room TV was very small. The 2nd bedroom did not have a TV but there was hookups and remote. Both mattresses were very uncomfortable and old. The master bed did not have mattress pad and sheets did not fit, kept coming off corners. The refrigerator water and ice did not work from the door. The sliding door to balcony was really hard to open and the slider in master didn’t open at all. Overall, outdated and needs TLC. Won’t stay at this condo again.

DO NOT RENT. Place was disgusting

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I stayed at this Destin condo and it was a disaster. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that cleanliness was not a priority. The floors were slimy, making us question if they had been cleaned at all. The pots and pans were old and burned everything we tried to cook, and the dishes were still dirty when we arrived. We called the office for help, but no one ever bothered to show up or address our concerns. This place is a major letdown and definitely not worth the money. We had to purchase our own pots to cook on. The beds were terrible. The owners didn’t put any effort into this condo. There was stains and liquid stains all over the walls. The floors looked filthy. Our feet were black the entire trip. The faucet in the master leaked. The shower door didn’t hold any water and our floor was soaked every time. We had to use towels to dry up the water, causing us to do laundry 2x a day. I would not recommend this place at all.

Nice Unit but poorly Managed

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were there for a baseball tournament. 3 days in, we almost got our car towed without any communinication from the office (we got a notice on our car at 9a that our car would be towed at 11a due to not having the little slip of paper in our window). We also were unable to get our air conditioning fixed because maintenance leaves at 4P and we were not available to be in the unit to have him adjust the thermostat. Lastly, I had a package delivered during our week long stay and was told that it would be delivered directly to the unit. However, it was delivered to the HOA office on the gulf side which no one seems to staff or have a functioning phone. It is quite a convoluted bureaucracy of owners, property managers, HOA, and rental companies and no one takes responsibiity

Unit 516 at Destin West Vacations

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 516 has a wonderful view about the ocean and the island itself, as well as some view of the sound. The unit is overall outdated, many things do not work, including the ICEMAKER and Furniture is not only outdated, but the drawers do not open if they do, they fall to the floor. Again, this unit is desperately in need of a makeover. My lights on the unit was also dirty, dead bugs scattered. No mattress pad covers on either bed. I certainly would never pick this unit again however, I would stay at Destin West, as the rest of the property is well-kept . Two of my daughters were also vacationing at the same time and had lovely units that had been updated. The outdoor furniture on the patio was also inadequate there were two chairs, and a very small table and one very odd chair. I did call and report the fact that the unit was not clean and in disrepair no one came to clean the unit.

I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The amenities are wonderful. To have the option of Gulfside pools and bay side pools and lazy river. But the condo itself was nasty. Mild in the showers, dirt in the floors. We had our own personal beach under the carpet runner in the hallway. Very little attention paid to the cleanliness of the rooms. Barely a sheet that for the beds no mattress pads. Quiet time was not enforced. Blaring music and screaming at midnight several nights.
