We arrived at the cute vintage property and upon entering the property found it to have an overwhelming mildew oder. We notified our host of the unacceptable situation she immediately responded apologized and offered a refund. We did not stay at this property.

What could have been

The location is great and not far from the lake. However, we had multiple issues with the property and the owner tried to add charges like 2 days before checking in for dogs. The good: Location and small home, small town feel The Bad: The owner was unresponsive when inquiring about the washer which doesn't work and the living room ceiling fan/light was also inop. The house is very dirty on the perimeter and the trash was full and had a stench that carried in the outside area. There were a lot of spiders and cob webbs even on the pprch and in the back area. Minimal effort and responsiveness would fix this. In addition, the pool was never open to the pu lic. It would get u locked for private events or the local swim team. With some minor work this property could be noce. However, i would avoid until they put some effort into fixing it. Property was definitely not as listed.

Great lake spot!

Great spot just down the street from the boat dock. House was clean and worked well for 8 of us. Not sure you could sleep 12 unless you brought air mattresses. Breaker kept blowing in the kitchen, but easy access to flip it back on. Host was wonderful, provided great communication and very flexible. Would Recommend for a fun lake weekend!

Clean but a lot that could have been improved to make it a way better experience

Pros: nice big house with plenty of beds; nice soft sheets and bedding, beautiful table, pool across the street, lake within view. Communication with the owner was good. We had a little problem at there beginning but she answered her phone and we got it worked out. Nice big, clean fridge. Kitchen is decently stocked. I could have used a big knife though. Cons: washer did not work, no wash cloths, no soap or trash can in bathroom, no hand towels or dish towels, only 4 towels, very mildew smelling (to be fair it is a very old house and lots of recent rain but it is definitely worth mentioning), the light did not work in living area I even climbed on a chair and pulled the string and nothing, no tv, no wifi. If the owners would fix some of these minor things, our experience would have been a lot better. We have been playing in lake all day and want somewhere to wash our hands and our bodies. Also, with teenager girls, a trash can in the bathroom is a must.

K-State game

We hadn’t heard from the owner until the day of checkin after I reached out, but their response was timely enough for our stay and very easy instructions to get in, so that was an overall okay experience. The house thermostat was around 55 upon our arrival late in the evening at 10:40pm. There were quite a few cobwebs that seemed as if no one had been there to attend to the place in a while. Little bit of trash found under one bunk bed and a Pepsi bottle in one of the bedrooms. Otherwise, it had plenty of bed options to accommodate us. I am a little concerned with the heating unit. Upon turning it up to 64 it got to 59 pretty fast, then it took all night for the unit to reach 61 degrees when we had it set to 64. Upon our return at 9:30pm on Saturday the unit was at 63 and still running. Over night it dropped to 61 and never did reach our higher setting that night of of 67, but actually went back down to 61. Made for a colder sleep, but we had brought several extra blankets with us.

Milford retreat

This house served at base camp for a three dad, four son weekend fishing trip. The house is older and there's no TV or WiFi. However, it was clean, safe, and the location was awesome. The 11 year old boys really appreciated the pool across the street. All told, this is a good place to stay. Not a luxury resort, but plenty comfortable for our group's needs.

Security concerns /dirty

When arriving to the house. The grass was not cut it was unkempt. There was a deer skull laying by the front porch with fur attached Upon entering a musty smell hit me, and i saw the tree air freshners hanging in the house. I checked the house. Many of the windows did not lock and one window was cracked When i spoke with the host about the issue i was told it was not true when i asked for ways to secure windows and notified her of safety concerns. The host said she would try and get someone to come out during the week. But we never heard anything The other option she said was i could get my refund if not happy. and after that she wouldnt answer me on any questions. I went to cook in the oven amd there was burned on drippings and when i attempted to use the oven it smoked out i had to clean the oven The pots were dirty and rusted so i had to purchase my own cookware vacuumed the floor the canister filled up. and mopped it was dirty but yet was told it had been cleaned before we came in. The futon had stains and it appeared to be vomit or food of some sort. No television. No internet. Maybe its not the host fault, the cleaning service definitely was not doing there job Pictures were taken of the concerns. And also pictures were taken upon leaving for protection purposes i did not enjoy this stay and would not recommend the house unless these items were taken care of

Quiet Little House

Showed up and thought it was a beautiful little house. I enjoyed the experience with neighbors. The house is small with lots of room, the friends and family had plenty of space for their needs. A great place to get away from technology and force people to interact.

Everything was really good except no TV? Probably would not have stayed if I had realized this.

Exactly what we needed! Very clean and a great location for our needs. I stalk a TV !!! Lol would stay again ! Thank you !
