Our cozy cabin is close to skiing, golf, ATV, mountain biking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling trails. Kayaking and tubing the river is a great family and friend activity with rentals available from Shel-Haven on m72 a mile from the cabin.

Grayling is 8 minutes away, Gaylord is 30 min, Traverse City is 40 min. We are centrally located for all of the best of the seasons in Michigan.

🎣Trout season begins the last Saturday in April-Sept 30! Access great fly fishing right from the dock! Catch browns and brookies on this award winning stretch of river! Fishing outside of the season? No worries, it is catch & release!

Looking for a fall getaway or a place to work remotely surrounded by nature? Relax and play in this cozy cabin with 187’ of Manistee River frontage! Catch brookies and brown trout from the dock on this flys-only section or throw on the waders and explore up and down the river. Bring your own floats or rent them at Shell-Haven 1 mile upstream to tube or kayak the river. There are 100’s of miles of trails and skiing/golf just 40 minutes away at Shanty Creek & Schuss Mountain Resorts and 8 minutes away at Hansen Hills.

If you love winter and love snow even more, you’re in luck!! Trout rising cabin gets tons of snow in the winter! We are close to skiing, snowmobiling, sledding and cross country skiing! Snowmobile from the cabin to the trail!! Book now for winter!

If winter isn’t you thing…get a jump on spring and summer! Trout season starts In April for some of the best fishing around! Summer is a great time for tubing or kayaking with rentals 1 mile upstream on M 72 at Shell Haven.

Wonderful stay

Excellent stay across the board. The house is very clean, and the location is amazing. Easy river access on the Manistee with great fishing and recreation opportunities. Very good communication with the owner. Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed.

Beautiful river setting

Perfect stay for our annual family get-together. Quiet, serene location, but also close to town. Will be looking to stay again next year!

We are from Midland, MI and love to be out in nature. We ski in the winter, fish and tube in the summer and enjoy hiking, riding bikes and just relaxing with friends and family by the campfire.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This has been a favorite spot for our family for 30+ years. We love the river, all the great fishing and tubing/kayaking. We have spent countless weekends and holidays exploring the surrounding state land, hunting, hiking, riding dirt bikes and quads. We love that we can get to our favorite ski resorts with just a short drive. We consider this property our home away from home, a place to get away and relax surrounded by nature. It isn't unusual to see Great Blue Herons feeding on the river, families of ducks and geese in the spring and we even have a pair of minks that like to spy us on the dock.
