Luxury rental on Buzzards Bay, providing a Cape Cod experience without the traffic. On West Island, experience sunsets and a private beach with this amazing cape house on the water.

Leave your cares behind as you get to West Island, this hidden gem of Massachusetts. Experience unobstructed and breathtaking sunsets from the expansive deck that overlook the marina, Buzzards Bay and on clear days, you can see Martha’s Vineyard. Perfect for families, the private beach and fire pit area provide a relaxing place to splash, play and make memories. This three-bedroom, three-bath home sleeps 8 people and is fully furnished with air conditioning. Gas Grill, washer, dryer, ample parking, a well-equipped kitchen and well-maintained yard provide lots of opportunity for play. During low tide, relax on your private sand bar with beach chairs, kayaks and all the sand toys you would need. For boaters, there is a boat launch in walking distance to the property and a private mooring in front of the house which is available to rent during your stay (reach out for additional details).

This oceanfront home is a few minutes from charming towns, such as Mattapoisett, Fairhaven, New Bedford, world-class restaurants and the ferry to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. Over half of West Island is State conservation land, offering many trails and wildlife, in addition to the five beaches and many trails for biking.

The house was clean, comfortable and cozy. Great kitchen very well stocked. The gorgeous deck would be delightful in good weather. We were dealing with snow and windchill and spent most of our time in the comfy living room sitting around the fire, enjoying the view. Owner was very helpful and answered text quickly.This house is great for a get away any time of year!

What an incredible place to stay right on the water. When you first walk in the door the house has these incredibly relaxing vibe. With 180 degree views of Buzzards Bay and the local inlets, it is truly a stunning location. The house has a great layout for a family of 5 and very well appointed for everything you need to cook and have guests for dinner. We stayed over the Christmas holiday and the whole house had tasteful decorations including a beautiful Christmas tree. It was freezing outside but we were cozy sitting in front of the gas fireplace, drinking our coffee(with three options of coffee makers) watching beautiful sunsets while the kids played ping pong and darts in the basement/garage with the bonus of a great Sonos sound system throughout the house. Everything was extremely clean, and the VRBO pictures don’t do it justice. Host Bill was very responsive to any questions, and he made checking in and out a cinch. Plenty of restaurants close by and the grocery store is ten minutes down the road if you need anything. I know this might sound like a planted review, but I really can’t say enough about how well this worked out for our family in an area where VRBO’s have been hit or miss for us.

Had a wonderful time in this gorgeous home. The location was gorgeous, and the sunsets were amazing. The home had everything you'd need and more. The host, I can't say enough about him, he was responsive, helpful, down to earth and simply amazing to deal with. If you're looking for a spot to unwind this is the place. Wish we had stayed longer! Highly recommend!

The house was beautiful and the view really was stunning! It was so nice to have a lot of seating both inside and outside. We loved sitting outside during the day and around the fire at night. Ping pong and darts were a big hit as well. Our family had an amazing time and we hope to visit again when we’re in the area. We had a great time at Bill’s place! The house is absolutely stunning and very thoughtfully prepared. The sunsets can’t be beat and as a larger group, we appreciated all the various places to sit and gather. The tide schedules are helpful if you’re wanting to utilize the property’s beach or town beach. The whole-house Sonos system was a lot of fun and easy to use. The location is central to many Cape recommendations- we took day trips to MV and Woods Hole/Falmouth. Would highly recommend, especially for larger groups that appreciate their own spaces.

Great property and location

Excellent for three couples and room for some kids in one of the bedrooms.Weather wet and foggy for part of our stay but had fun anyway, and really delightful on the nicer days.Excellent recommendations from host- especially the recommendation for Bocca restaurant.Interesting factoid- Joshua Slocum made the first single handed sailing voyage around the world, starting from Fairhaven. The place he rebuilt his boat for the trip is marked in a park. Read his book!

Girls Weekend

Our annual Girls Weekend was another success! Who knew Fairhaven was so much fun! Gorgeous house, beautiful sunsets, beach located steps from the house, high end amenities, kitchen stocked with spices and gadgets….everything was perfect. Bill was great to communicate with and made sure our stay was a success. These hard working teachers, nurses and social workers will hopefully be back!

Beautiful Beach Home

If you’re looking for a weekend away in a beautiful home with an excellent host look no further! Bill was so easy to communicate with from the moment I booked his listing. Offering local restaurant recommendations and activities to do in the area. My family and I go away for a weekend each year in lieu of exchanging Christmas gifts and Bill’s home offered the perfect space for a weekend away to relax and enjoy everyone’s company. The table was big enough for all 8 of us and the living room was perfect for early morning coffee by the fire as well as late night games. The home is spacious and well kept with a well stocked kitchen! Thank you for a wonderful stay Bill, we hope to be back again!

Wonderful stay for Thanksgiving

We had a great time at this beautiful property over the Thanksgiving holiday. The pictures are spot on - it is a spacious, very well appointed and very comfortable home. The views, especially at sunset, are incredible. We were a family of 5 people - 3 generations- and we all had ample space. Communication with the owner was very easy and he was very responsive. We hope to come back again in the summer when we can take advantage of the beautiful balconey!

Beautiful property!

Three couples over 70 on a getaway. The house is spacious, comfortable, and spotless! We had incredible weather for late October so we enjoyed the deck and the nearby town beach. We ate at Bayside, Bocco and Mike’s - all excellent!

Great house and location

The house was perfect for our family and children. The outdoor space is amazing and there was plenty for the kids (kayaks, ping pong, chairs, toys, games, etc). The house was clean and had everything we needed - the kitchen was stocked with every pot/pan/utensil and there were plenty of towels and toiletries. Location is great and Bill was very responsive.

Hi Bill, We all very much enjoyed our stay! Your Beach House, & location are just beautiful, with ocean views & breezes everywhere! Nice jumping off spot

Nice water location but also a great jumping off spot for road trips. We went to Ogunquit ME, Mystic CT and shorter ones like Newport RI. Good communication with owner and he took care of us when an unexpected water main issue came up out of his control. Recommended!

This was a stunning home. Everything was perfect from the views outside to the beautiful interior. Everything you could need was provided. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a wonderful vacation. Close to town and near ferry to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard.

Magical House by the Sea

My family rented this house over the Christmas holiday to be near our relatives in the area. So much about this house exceeded our expectations - well stocked kitchen with lots of plates, silverware and pots/pans; comfortable, quality furniture throughout the house; well cleaned and maintained; large, easy driveway and a responsive, thoughtful host. And the views!!! So beautiful and peaceful. This group has rented a lot of houses together but we think this might just be our favorite.

Wonderful Stay!

Our family stayed at this home while in town for the Army vs. Navy game in December. The house was clean, warm and very welcoming. Communication from the owner was excellent as were his restaurant recommendations. We enjoyed the house and area so much we are considering a summer get-a-way there in the future to enjoy the outside patio and beach more. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Great stay...Beautiful views!

My wife and I stayed here off-season for 2 nights for her birthday weekend. The house was tastefully appointed and had an amazing kitchen. The bedrooms were generously sized, as were all the bathrooms. We had a lovely welcome card waiting for us, and the hosts were communicative through the entire process – even giving great recommendations for places to eat. The fireplaces were a lovely touch and added warmth and ambiance to our stay. One of the best surprises was the ping pong table in the garage! As avid players, we took advantage of it and had the best time. The sunsets were stellar and the views were incredible. If you love the water like we do, don't hesitate to book this gorgeous house! Fun fact: my wife wrote this entire review, but I enjoyed the trip as well!

Beautiful Waterfront Home

My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay in this home. The house was immaculate and was stocked with just about anything you could need. The views of the bay were amazing and the sunsets were absolutely stunning. Bill was a wonderful host and gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in the area. Would highly recommend this house!!!

Beautiful home and location

My husband and I booked this property off-season and really enjoyed our stay. The views are awesome and the house has everything and more you could be looking for to cook or entertain. There are so many thoughtful additions including almost everything you could imagine for the kitchen, as well as blankets in most rooms to snuggle up with and speakers both inside and outside the house to enjoy some tunes while sitting on the amazing wrap-around deck. We stayed in the master suite which had a comfy bed and I enjoyed the sitting area in that room to look out at the water. We had lots of great food options close by and Doordash delivers there if that is your thing. We took advantage of the nice weather and took a walk to Off the Hook Bar & Grill on the bridge to the island and really enjoyed a cocktail and the company. We would love to spend some time here again.
