Authentic Log Cabin Getaway w/Private Hot Tub

Relaxing, quiet vacation experience without sacrificing modern conveniences. This is Cacapon Retreat!

After a day of hiking, gather around the fire pit while listening to the peaceful flow of Indian Run and other sounds of nature or play a few rounds of cornhole, bocce, and horse shoes.

Enjoy the heated, jetted hot tub facing the private, wooded lot.

We are looking forward to hosting a memorable experience for you and waiting for your inquiry to discuss the details.

The kitchen is fully stocked for most of your cooking needs. Relax in the great room in front of the stone fireplace. Bedrooms have cedar log furniture for a rustic cabin experience. Have fun in the game room/loft with plenty of games, puzzles, a karaoke machine, and regulation size foosball table. Work remotely with the convenience of 300 Mbps Internet.

For your safety and ours, we have one camera facing the front yard, one in back covering the entrance to the deck, and one facing the basement door. All cameras record motion.

Dog Friendly Property- up to TWO dogs permitted, additional pet fee of $50 plus taxes. WE DO NOT ALLOW CATS. Guests must keep dogs on leash in the community and pick up dog waste.

Free early check-in and late check out when possible, please inquire.

Great communication with the owner. The neighborhood is very nice and the house is at the end of a cul de sac so it’s very private- the back deck faces trees and a little creek. Home is comfortable and well-equipped!

The cabin was lovely and clean. There were amazing touches that made it so lovely, like the inclusion of dog amenities. We loved the area surrounding the property and it was perfect for dog hikes in the woods. Iwe appreciated all the little extra amenities in case we forgot anything as well. And interacting with the owners was a pleasant experience as well! We really loved this cabin and would definitely love to stay again!

We enjoyed my birthday stay at this location. It was clean and had everything we needed…even dog furniture protectors and treats. The kitchen was well stocked and we actually got out of our box making brewed coffee. My only “personal” criticism would be the disposable paper goods, foil and plastic wrap…but I am picky and buy the best. The gas grill was used and appreciated every night we were there. We love to cook and planned our meals for the trip. The sleeping arrangements were great and the neighborhood is very quiet so there are no disturbances. The hot tub was a bonus to our relaxing and was enjoyed several times. My only negative is the amount of dead carpenter bees that were left laying around on the porch. Overall…I’d recommended this for a get an away in Berkeley Springs.

Weekend Getaway

This property was exactly what my husband and I were looking for to enjoy a weekend getaway. In July, it was hot and humid, but we were still able to enjoy the relaxing living room, fun games provided, and cozy bed. The evenings cooled enough to even enjoy the hot tub. The house keeper left a great welcoming note and the house was spotless, even no evidence that they allow dogs. We did not take dogs but they provide a great basket for animal care. Highly recommend this property and we look forward to going back again.

Great getaway

We stayed for a weekend getaway with our family. Kids loved the house. It was clean and the A/C blew cold during this 90 degree heat wave we had. Had a lot of amenities. Basically anything you would need. We had a small issue while we were staying and Paul quickly rectified it. We couldnt have asked for a better place to stay!

Our dog's favorite vacation

We appreciated how welcoming the owner is to 4-legged family members and the options for dog-walking - both around the neighborhood and at the state park that is across the road. The property is very clean so you would never know that other dogs had been there. The property is perfect for a relaxing get-away. Our entire family enjoyed it.

Relaxing and peaceful!

The overall impression of this property is outstanding!The beds were comfortable! The layout is great. We used the hot tub several times with no difficulties. On chilly mornings we had the gas fireplace to keep us warm and cozy. The area behind the cottage has walking trails down by the stream..very nice.

Relaxation Perfection

This is a fabulous place to stay. Everything is clean and very well maintained. It has everything you need! It's beautiful and the setting is quiet and peaceful. There are special touches everywhere. We had a slight issue at check-in, but Paul was easy to contact and he fixed it immediately. I would definitely stay again!

Rustic luxury!

Our family including our dog had a wonderful stay at the Cacapon Retreat! When entering the lovely private neighborhood you never expect to pull up to this authentic cabin and it’s literally the most beautiful cabin in the best location! It was so welcoming as our winter recharge destination after the hectic holidays. It was immaculately clean, comfortable, spacious and cozy! We snuggled by the fire, enjoyed the hot tub while star gazing, played board games, explored the forest and creek area right behind the home, and spent a day at Cacapon State Park hiking the mountain too. We did all this and more in just a 2 night stay because of its great location which is right across the street from the park and also very close to anything you need. We even spent the last day out in Berkeley Sorings antiquing and exploring the springs. The hast is very responsive to messages and very accommodating even in our last minute booking and late check out request. The cabin was stocked with all we needed, decorated beautifully for the holidays and extremely comfortable. Thank you for hosting us!

After Christmas Family Vacation at the Capacon Retreat

Our family had an unforgettable post-Christmas getaway at a stunning log cabin in Berkeley Springs, Virginia. The cabin itself was absolutely beautiful—cozy, spacious, and thoughtfully designed to make every moment feel special. From the moment we booked, the host’s incredible communication set the tone for an excellent experience. He provided clear, timely updates and helpful details both before and after our trip, making everything seamless.We spent our days relaxing and enjoying the picturesque surroundings. The views from the cabin were breathtaking, and we loved exploring the nature trails and the creek just behind the house. While we didn’t get a chance to visit the nearby state park this time, it’s on our list for the next trip out to Capacon Retreat.This cabin is perfect for families looking to unwind and reconnect in a peaceful, scenic setting. We’re already planning our return and would highly recommend this retreat to anyone in search of a serene, memorable escape. It’s truly a gem!
