This house never ceases to pull out the song waiting to be written, or the paintings waiting to be finished. From all angles of the house the majestic desert views are never-ending. From the pool you can see the rock mountains that line the desert edges, as the sun sets you can watch it sink into the dark pink sky from the hot tub. While sitting in front of the firepit after nightfall, there is even the strange feeling of being at the ocean...a calm warm breeze charged with negative ions makes you feel positively energized.
Artists, writer, poets and musicians have been coming to Joshua Tree for decades to soak up the creatives vibes that are everywhere, and especially powerful on this particular piece of land. This is what drew us to the house in the first place, the feeling of having nowhere to go and nothing to do, and at the same time drawing the most creative ideas out of us effortlessly.
The design of the house is sleek, modern and industrial all at the same time. The open kitchen, concrete floors, and floor to ceiling glass windows gives you the feeling that you are all alone in the desert surrounded by every modern convenience. The art work is curated to match the decor, and the living room is perfect for either star gazing, or watching your favorite movie, backlit by desert stars and moonlight.
An added bonus is being able to see the Kellogg Doolittle house, an architectural marvel built into the side of the rock hills from inside the pool and spa is nothing short of spectacular.
