Southwest Art Deco Design with country landscape. 15 minutes to downtown Castle Rock. An ideal setting for entertaining your family and friends. Located on beautiful 5 country acres, an animal lover's paradise. After a long day of events, take a nice soak in the hot tub and visit the Goat family onsite. Golf courses, antique shops, restaurants and hiking trails all within a short distance for you to explore! Neighborhood park is just a couple-minute walk for kids to enjoy!

The space:
Secluded treed mountain scenery with ample outdoor seating areas. In the front yard gather around the cozy pergola setting or entertain on the back deck with large grill and dining table seating with amazing views of the front range.

Fully stocked kitchen with coffee maker, coffee and tea, crockpot for slow-cooked meals, an array of spices, all of your baking needs and even a popcorn maker.

Spacious Dining and Living areas boast plenty of seating with a lovely leather reclining couch. Get cozy by the fireplace and snuggle up with blankets while you enjoy a movie or play board games. Tvs have smart and/or Roku to access your TV accounts, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu etc.

Other things to note:
The space is the upper non-shared guest suite. The host and ranch dogs are friendly and reside in the lower unit. They will be separate from your living and outdoor spaces.

There is not great cell service at the house. Most phones work well through wifi-calling.

Quiet and serene

The house was clean and ready. From the first day, we could smell an odor when you come in the front door. That got worse the longer we stayed. We believe it was cat urine from the basement that we could not enter as it was coded off. The last day, that went away as we heard someone down there so they must have cleaned it up.The outside was nothing like the pictures. It was not mowed, unkempt and had junk laying around throughout the yard and off the deck.Visiting the animals was a treat. We really enjoyed that. The views were gorgeous in the valley.

Natures beauty abound

This property is very nicely stocked with all the basic you need including a popcorn maker. So much wildlife to be seen plus goats on the property. So wonderful and stress relieving. The host was very responsive as well! Highly recommend

We loved our stay at this property!! So much space and a great area to stay. about 35 minutes from Denver and Colorado Springs. The goats and dogs living there was just the sprinkles on top!!

Lovely stay

Just know this is a rural country setting, there is a town about 20 min away, but plan that. Cell reception was a challenge. But the property is very peaceful, relaxing, friendly pets and farm animals. Owner very responsive and kind.

Great place to stay

Lovely property in beautiful surroundings with chickens, goats and friendly dogs. Children loved feeding the goats and petting the dogs. Very well equipped with helpful information. Highly recommend.

Beautiful views and comfy house!

We had a great time visiting Colorado and staying at Alex’s! Real Colorado experience with wonderful animals, views all around and easy access to both Colorado Springs and Denver. The house was so welcoming and comfortable. Would recommend!

This could be amazing!

I stayed here last weekend with 2 girlfriends. We wanted a quiet place to relax that was not too far from Red Rock Amphitheater. The location was great . We were a little dissapointed with thr outdoor space. We wanted a great place to relax with a cup of coffee. The putdoor patio in the front yard was in really tough shape. So we never even used it. The back deck could use some tlc but we did use it. We really wanted to drink our coffee annd just look at the mountains. There was not a perfect place for that. Honestly the area in front of the fence where you ask people to park would be a great place for a patio. Or cut down a few of the overgrown bushes and clean up the patio you do have. The house was clean. So that was nice. We did struggle with the kitchen. There were only a couple spoons. We ended up using plastic ones. There was also zero containers to put leftovers in. There needs to at least be a few, even cheap tulperware. Like I said, this house could be amazing. We loved the goats amd giggled at them often. We were bummed the cow that was advertised was gone. location

The goats were a hoot!

This was the perfect stay for us! It is centrally located, allowing easy day trips to Cañon City, Colorado Springs, and Denver. The house itself is clean and well maintained - issues mentioned in previous reviews, i.e. the loose dishwasher, have been addressed. The animals on the property were our favorite part of the stay! We were able to spend some time with the goats, working dogs, and cow. They were all very entertaining and friendly. We can’t wait to come back!

Country Setting

Our stay was pleasant. The inside of the house was very nice. However, there is only one air conditioner located in the living room, there were a few light bulbs not working. The outside could use some TLC, lots of cobwebs by the entry door, and bushes and grass were really overgrown, not like the picture that is on the site. The driveway turned into a mud bog when it rain, making it impossible to navigate without making a mess. We loved the goat family and farm dogs. We also had a late-night visit from a mountain lion.

Great place

Great place. We really enjoyed our stay. We split time between Denver and Colorado Springs so the location was perfect. Kids loved petting and feeding the goats. We loved how quiet it was out there. Would definitely stay again.

Great place with an even better view!

The property is great! The house is spacious, the grounds give the best farm vibes and the view of the valley is breathtaking. We really liked the peaceful tranquility of the area. Just 18 minutes to Castle Rock we could drive to local shops and restaurants and then return to the quiet of the valley. We loved the hot tub and gazed at the stars from the deck just about every night of our stay. I would definitely encourage the hosts to install some window coverings in the bathrooms and maybe look at fixing some of the worn cabinets. The dishwasher falls out of the cabinet when opened so we didn't feel comfortable using it. None of this was too burdensome but just some suggestions. Overall we loved this property - the dogs, the cow, the goats, the chickens were all a great addition to the experience! We will definitely be looking to stay at this property again!

Great experience

We visited for a family vacation. We felt at home and safe here. It was wonderful to be close to bigger cities, but also in a quiet, country area with nearby trails and nature. We loved saying hello to the family dogs and goats. The host was extremely responsive to my questions and accommodating. We would visit here again!

Goats, dogs, deer and turkeys, Oh My!

Cozy and comfortable with lots of friendly animal interaction. We fed the goats and played catch with Duke and his buddy. Walking through the neighborhood, it was hard to miss the 30 plus herd of deer and 45-50 turkeys. We even got to hear them "gobble, gobble." We explored at Roxborough Park, just a 20 min. drive away, then returned to Greenwood farm for a relaxing soak in the hot tub. A wonderful place to slow down and recharge.

Staying here is like staying with a friend

We had such a wonderful time staying here! I traveled with my two young adult daughters (18 and 21) and their 2 friends. This was the perfect spot for us! We wanted to feel like we were in the country, but close to the places we were visiting during our stay in Colorado. We ventured up to Keystone for skiing, Garden of the gods for hiking, Parker to visit friends, Denver for the Meow Wolf museum and dinner out, Castle Rock for more hiking, and Aurora for shopping and movies. This was the perfect homebase. Big bonus that there are goats and dogs on property (we are big animal lovers). We were hoping to see the barn kitties, so maybe next time. It snowed twice while we were here and our four-wheel-drive Yukon rental car did great. Highly recommend a four-wheel-drive if you are staying here in the winter. The house is like staying at a friend’s place. It’s well stocked and very cozy. The hot tub is also a great amenity. Alex was wonderful to deal with and a great host! If you want to be near nightlife, this is not the place for you. If you want to be in a country setting, not far from Denver and surrounding towns, this is the place for you! We absolutely loved it!
