This house served my group and our needs well. The pool was great. The open common area with kitchen/living/dining and porch were really nice. Lots of room for everyone to sleep and great location.

I am sorry for the late text, I want you guys to know that the following issues existed at the VRBO Rental, oven broke, dishwasher broken, both ice makers broken, gas grill downstairs was disconnected and looked to be In poor condition.

Family Trip

Was a very nice home for a big family trip. Pool and outdoor area is a great place to hangout. We did enjoy our stay. But the house was not as clean as expected. Unfortunately we found roaches and ants in many of the rooms.

AWESOME PLACE - Very minor issues

We really enjoyed our stay at The Gentry for the weekend. It's so close to the beach and all of the fun things to do in Port A. It's all just a golf cart ride away. I definitely don't think you'll regret renting here. The house is modern and super comfortable. Not like the other beach houses for rent that are old and poor décor. A/C Worked well and the house was mostly clean. We had tons of fun at the swimming pool in the back yard and the kitchen is definitely a cooks dream. The house is in need of minor maintenance and we let Silver Sands know. So hopefully there shouldn't be any other issues for the next guest. Hope this helps!

Gentry house was lackluster

The pool stopped filtering on our first night of our 4 night stay. The pool did not get serviced until our last day at the residence. Water pressure in the amazing walk-in showers was so weak, it made it rally hard to shower ourselves and our family. Cockroaches were everywhere and made for a unclean environment. Cockroaches were in the kitchen and in every room of the 4 story house. Very unsanitary and very displeasing for the amount the house was rented to us for.

Great trip and nice house but nothing is perfect!

The house layout and interior was great for our group of 8 adults and 4 children (2 yr., 5yr and two 6 yr olds.) and the main deck and outside kitchen/pool area is awesome! (It would be even nicer if all the beautiful outdoor fans worked as well). But, the house needs some attention to details..the keurig was broken and there wasn't a regular coffee pot so we went out and bought one for our next morning's coffee. The office did end up sending one over later the next day. The propane grill was too dirty and we could only get one flame to work. We bought charcoal and were able to use the other grill. The master shower on the second floor only has one shower head that works and the third floor bathroom needs a new toilet seat. We repaired the patio door on the main floor to get the lock to work. A few tweaks and repairs would make this place ideal! We rented golf carts and the beach was five minutes away. Guests need to remember to bring salt and pepper and paper towels and garbage bags, and if you are staying more than two days, you will need body soap and shampoo etc. Kitchen is stocked pretty well with utensils and dishes. Also, we learned that in order to get the oven to work...you have to turn the timer on first and then the temperature. The dishwasher is a little tricky as well. We googled it and got it going. Hopefully everything will be up and running when you book your vacation !

Avoid Silver Sands and The Gentry!

Silver Sands communication is a joke! We called them 4-5 times about issues, left voicemail for call back and just as many emails with 1 response. Calls during office hours to get property manager out to see problems got the ball rolling. Here does the story. Arrived Monday 3:20pm, checkin at 4pm unless they call you that it’s ready. Door code didn’t work…strolled around town to kill time at IGA grocery store. Came back at 4pm at The Gentry, water was gushing out from pipe onto street and County Water dept pulled up asking if I knew what was going on, I said I just pulled up here. The pool was being drained?!?! If check in is at 4pm, this all should have been taken care of. 4:30-4:45pm a second Nuence county water dept comes by asking same question, we’re clueless why anything was happening. I asked if they could look and or shut it off and they said they were only allowed to touch the water meter outside the house. We called Silver Sands and they were angry and clueless why the pool was being drained and sent someone over. The man that come over was nice and had no idea what and why it was being drained and said he would have to call the pool company to service and fix it. 5pm rolls around nothing is happening, pool still draining like crazy while water hose was on in the pool, I call again, it’s now after hours, I leave a message for call back on if I should be turning off water hose, if anyone was coming, are we getting discount/reimbursement for lost time with pool and for call back. Nothing happened for the 3 night duration of call back. We call the emergency/ after hour line and get a text message later about how they don’t deal with pool stuff and pool company has been made aware. Fruit flie/gnats were abundant throughout the kitchen and bathroom as well, pictures on walls were crooked. Toilet on level 1 master room kept running after flush. Day 2: it’s 10 am, still no news, call Silver Sands again, they said they haven’t heard of any issues about anything, so I went over the story all over again, dunno who the voicemail goes to now that I left last night, said they would send someone over. Maybe an hour later , Lanae, the property manager comes by. I tell her how pools been draining, she sees it’s not been cleaned either as there’s lots of sand, debris and dead bugs in water said she would work on getting pool company out. Running toilets, gap in sliding door, broken keurig, outdoor lights/fans not working. Broken pool sticks..avoid

The house was absolutely beautiful and accommodated our large group! Very spacious with great amenities. The house was close in proximity to the beach, which was perfect! The outdoor fans did not work, which we did call about and were told they were waiting on a part to come in. There were a couple of large roaches that were found inside but we understand that may not be something that can be controlled. Other than these couple of things, everything was wonderful!

Gorgeous Home but.....

The home was gorgeous and perfect for the large group we had. One of the reasons we selected that home was due to the beautiful outside spaces.(The outdoor kitchen and pool area, and 2 large decks off the higher floors) Unfortunately none of the outdoor ceiling fans and few of the lights worked despite maintenance coming multiple times throughout our stay. The lack of airflow allowed the mosquitoes to make enjoying outside the way we had hoped challenging. Additionally the outdoor gas grill was extremely dirty and had very low gas flow-- the company did bring us another charcoal grill but we had to supply the charcoal.

Amazing Home - Perfect for our larger family.

This house was beautiful and perfect for our family of 15. We did t want to leave. Had a nice pool, covered deck, grilling area, wonderful kitchen with a huge island, no one ever had to wait for a bathroom. House is truly amazing and new and modern.

Beautiful property/location

Our extended family (four families) had a wonderful time. Beautiful home. Elevator a real help in unloading/ loading upstairs.

The property was great, but some things were missing that could have made the experience better. 1. There were not enough bath towels in the house for it being a 16 guest property. Approximately 8-10 towels in a house for 16. Also, no hand towels in half bath downstairs. 2. The upstairs shower did not drain properly. The shower was used once on Friday night and the water did not drain at all over the weekend. 3. The gas grill needs maintenance or repairs. I was attempting to cook some ribs and even on the highest setting, the fire seemed to be like a simmer setting. The only way we were able to grill was using the side designed for searing as the main cooking area.

Spectacular Home

This home was brand new and gorgeous! Our family had a wonderful time relaxing. This house has everything you need and more. We will be back for sure tp use the pool when it get warmer at the coast. The outdoor kitchen was incredible. Cant recommend this home enough
