Premierly located within the private, gated community of Laurel Ridge, High Lake Lodge is a luxury mountain home that allows you to get away from it all while still being only 10 minutes from downtown Black Mountain and 25 minutes from downtown Asheville. Boasting a game room, hot tub, multiple decks & fire tables, a new propane grill, and magnificent year-round views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Lake Burnett Reservoir, this home truly has it all!

The perfect retreat for larger groups that crave recreation and relaxation, you're just 30 minutes from Asheville's city center where you'll find award-winning restaurants, world-renowned attractions, local breweries, and specialty shops filled with handmade goods—perfect for picking out a treasure to take home and remind you of your time spent in the mountains.

For outdoor enthusiasts, you can drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway to enjoy the changing foliage of each season with the windows down, or stop along the many mileposts for a scenic hike or Insta-worthy selfie. For a low-key day outside the big city, the ever-charming small town of Black Mountain boasts amazing restaurants, cafes, galleries, and shops to explore. Black Mountain is also just 10 minutes from the town of Montreat where you can find gorgeous walking trails along babbling creeks, through rhododendron tunnels, and soaring up to rock outcroppings that lead to mountain peaks overlooking the Swannanoa Valley.

Please Note: This home is not pet-friendly. The driveway is paved but very steep. This home conveniently provides a baby gate, booster seat, and Pack N' Play in the closet near the front door for guests traveling with children.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home in Black Mountain! From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by how gorgeous the space was—every room felt warm, inviting, and impeccably designed. The owners truly thought of everything. Every detail, from the well-stocked kitchen to the cozy blankets, games, and thoughtful extras, made our stay feel effortless and luxurious.The home was spotless, spacious, and perfectly set up for both relaxing and spending time together as a family. We especially appreciated how peaceful the surroundings were; it was the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the mountain scenery.We’ve stayed in many rentals over the years, but this one stands out as one of our all-time favorites. If you’re looking for a place that combines comfort, beauty, and true hospitality, this is it. We would come back in a heartbeat!

The High Lake Lodge was the PERFECT stay for my family. The drive is a little tricky, but the roads are all paved and we were able to get there easily with a front wheel drive vehicle. Once you are there, there is not much else you need! The home was fully stocked with things you may need that you did't think of! The views are unbelievable. The home was clean, organized and well designed. We will be coming back here again!

This may have been one of the best rentals we have ever stayed at. The kitchen is phenomenal and incredibly well stocked. There was more inside the house than was listed on the VRBO rental. Bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, bathrooms, exquisite. The view from the deck is Amazing rain or shine.

Amazing Views & Relaxing Stay!

We were very pleased with our stay at the High Lake Lodge. Everything was as described in the listing. We enjoyed all the amenities and all of the details the host thought of. We especially enjoyed the views and hanging out on the balconies after a long day of activities in the surrounding areas. The house was super-clean & had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable.

Better in Person!

This property is stunning. I was truly impressed with the amenities. The communication with the property manager was great. They were always quick to respond and provide timely guidance. The house was very spacious and loved the fire places and hot tubs. I will say our party was disappointed in the mattresses. For such a luxury property with incredible amenities, the mattresses were pretty uncomfortable. And really it was a minor issue. We were all happy times ten with everything else. Also Waze gave us accurate gps directions to the home even though the check in directions said not to use. Loved the location. Black mountain is such a lovely town and not a bad drive to Asheville. The driveway was a bit tricky with a large suv but that’s to be expected with most mountain homes. Loved the board games and other thoughtful touches. Would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful setting and home

The home and setting was beautiful. Easy check in process. The drive way was steep and scary so my husband had to navigate that. The beds were not very comfortable but it had all the essentials we needed otherwise.

Incredible cabin

Book NOW! Hands down the best cabin we have stayed in this far. Modern meets traditional touches… they didn’t skimp on anything. Top of the line …. Kitchen is gourmet , game room is cozy and so fun, bathrooms are gorgeous. And the view is breathtaking. We had an amazing vacation . Thank you for sharing your home

High Lake Lodge is the most wonderful place to stay. I have been recommending a stay here to all my friends and family. The views are breathtaking as is everything about this house. The house itself is charming with beautiful decor and has everything you would ever need! Book yourself a stay here!

Amazing views

We loved our stay. The views from every deck, living room, most bedrooms is breathtaking. The cabin is decorated to every detail and well stocked. It was the perfect long weekend. (To get those views be prepared for steep driving and driveway, but doable and worth it!!)

Awesome view and amazing house

A quick long weekend in THIS house was just what we needed! Black Mountain was fun to poke around in and it was close to Biltmore. However, the view and deck were the best parts! The fireplace was great! Our kids loved ping pong, air hockey, wall scramble, deck swings, and the hot tub. The kitchen was amazing and all the extras like tea and coffee were thoughtful.The drive up would be challenging in winter. We will be back!

Gorgeous Rental Up a Steep Driveway

This cabin was a perfect rental for our reunion of six high school friends. The amenities and the supplies left for guests were some of the best I have experienced in a VRBO rental and the view from the cabin was breathtaking. One quick note for potential guests is that the drive up to the cabin is very winding and steep. Our group all was raised in the flat areas of Northern Indiana and you could definitely tell which of us had gained experience driving in the mountains since high school. It snowed during our weekend and the snow and fog were intimidating to some of us. I would rent this cabin again and again, but I would definitely plan to arrive before nightfall the first night!

The house is awesome and very clean. The views shown in the online pictures are even more beautiful in real life. It was a very relaxing place to stay and the nearby town of Black Mountain was a pleasure to spend time at. I would recommend to anyone and would definitely go back.

Turkey Day

The place is awesome with unbelievable views. They provide everything you need. The kitchen was well organized, the beds and linens very nice, and fabulous bathrooms. The only thing is the parking and unloading was very tricky because of the very steep driveway.

The Best Mountain Weekend!

Girls weekend with my mom and two sisters - it was amazing! The house is awesome with truly incredible views. The driveway was a little daunting at night, but we were able to get in safely. The location is up the mountain in Black Mountain and about 35 minutes to downtown Asheville. It was a beautiful place to stay- updated, new, nice, and very stocked up. We will absolutely be back again!

Perfect Mountain Getaway

Like many of the reviews state, the pictures do not do this house justice. Its an absolutely beautiful home tucked away in the quiet mountains of the black mountain area. The house is clean, spacious, well stocked (the kitchen had everything!) and the kids loved the game area (ping pong and air hockey) along with all the board and card games, coloring activities, smores by the fire place, the list can go on. We also enjoyed the hot tub, which was very clean and easy to use. I would highly recommend this house and hope to come back one day again to stay. It was a trip our family will not forget! Thank you!

What a GEM!

Newly renovated home in a gated community with unobstructed views of the blue ridge mountains and a lovely reservoir below! The drive out to black mountain town takes about 15-20 mins so acct for that when going basically anywhere. The house is WELL equipped to cook at home, relaxation, games, or just to sit and watch views that are breath taking. Beds are comfortable, the house is quiet. The driveway is steep but not completely unexpected. The outdoor spaces are just impressive with fire pits and a jacuzzi overlooking said views. No hesitation what so ever! We will be back!!!

Retreat like vibe

The house was lovely and we all felt as if we never had to leave to enjoy ourselves. The only thing is that there are no conveniences without driving down the mountain. The driveway is tricky (but we do not live in the mountains). Other than that - the sunrise was amazing everyday.
