Acerca de este alojamiento
70s Vibes with Hot Tub & Pool! The Coyote House
The Coyote House is a time machine back to 1978. It's a cozy 2 bedroom 1 bath getaway at the crossroads of Pioneer Town & Joshua Tree & is furnished with nearly all vintage & one of a kind items you won't find any place else.
Listen to records on the shag rug, lounge outside on the tiki furniture, cool off in the pool (open seasonally) or gaze at the stars in the spa. Enjoy amazing views of the desert & surrounding mountains. The Coyote House is a truly unique destination in the high desert.
The space:
The Coyote House is an 800 square foot two bedroom house and is perfect for a group of friends or a small family.
Lounge in bed and watch the morning sun fill the room or put on a record and relax on the couch. Then finish your day in the spa staring up into the night sky and count the shooting stars flying above you.
Both bedrooms have queen memory foam mattresses and there is enough space for a travel crib in either room. There are mini-split heaters/AC in each room as well.
The house is in the perfect location. You can walk just a few blocks to get coffee and check out the fun vintage shops along 29 Palms Hwy in Old Town Yucca Valley.
You can drive five minutes through the unbelievable desert boulders and have a drink at the local favorite Pappy & Harriet's in Pioneertown. And we're just twenty minutes away from the entrance to Joshua Tree National Park.
There are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores, and shops so you don't have to worry if you forgot anything!

Recent guest feedback: "The Coyote House was exactly how it was described in the listing. The antique 70’s decor all throughout the house was so cool! We loved stargazing in the hot tub at night. It was super convenient for our trip to Joshua Tree. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a fun place to both explore the area and relax. - Tara"
Owned by Tim and Merrill, photographers, travelers and designers who love vintage and the desert and who've created this space for their guests to enjoy. It’s full of vintage items they have collected over the past 10+ years on several cross country road trips. Tim and Merrill have been coming to the Joshua Tree area for years and look forward to sharing this special property with you.
Locally hosted by Jenn, who's lived in this area for the past five years and who loves the desert and hosting guests here. Need a recommendation and want the inside scoop? Jenn has you covered! Need something while you're here? You'll get local support for your stay!
Some fun things to do while in the area:
- Go to a sound bath at Integratron or with one of our local practitioners.
- Get an in-home massage by one of our awesome, local massage therapists.
- Go on a private, guided hike - a favorite activity for guests!
- Have a meal prepared by a local private chef.
- Enjoy an in-home wine tasting with a trained sommelier with wine selections from Joshua Tree Bottle shop.
- Get a private yoga session.
- Go on a star gazing tour with Sky Watcher Tours - another favorite!

Guest access
You have access to the whole house except the housekeeping room (which is through a locked door through the bathroom).
Don’t feed or interact with the neighbors’ dogs!! We know they are cute as hell but the owners specifically asked us not to.
Other things to note:
Pet Friendly: We're pet friendly! Two well-behaved pups allowed. There is a $75 pet fee paid at time of booking. No pups on the furniture and no pups left alone in the house (unless crated) or in the yard. And please dispose of any pet waste.
Check in/Check out: Check in time is 4 pm and check out time is 11 am. We can occasionally approve an early check in or late check out but in general our team needs this time to prepare.
Please be aware that you will be in the desert so you may encounter bugs, animals, dust, and very hot weather. Especially in the summer.
There are some tasteful vintage semi-nude oil paintings in one of the rooms. So if that kind of thing bothers you, you may want to look elsewhere.
Because of the desert location of the house and heightened fire risk there are NO outside fires allowed.
NO COMMERCIAL FILM OR PHOTO SHOOTS WITHOUT PRIOR CONSENT! Personal social media/blog photos are fine, of course. Tag us! @thecoyotehouse
Spa and Pool rules:
Use at your own risk. No jumping or diving, running, rough play, food, and glass in the pool or spa area. Children can not use the pool or spa without adult supervision. Keep in mind the spa uses chemicals to maintain cleanliness that may alter the color of swimwear or hair. This is typical in any pool or spa.
Security Cameras: We have security cameras on the front of the house, which face out toward the driveway and front of the house only.

I grew up in New York and now live in Joshua Tree! Our family traveled the country for a year in our camper before falling in love with desert life and deciding to make JT our home.
We hosted at our home in Kingston NY while we traveled and I discovered my love of hosting.
I'm excited to host guests in the desert and to share my love of this area with others. I host guests at my own property and I also help other hosts with their properties. I especially enjoy connecting visitors with local businesses and experiences that will make their stay special while supporting the local community.
I’m also an herbalist and make herbal tinctures, plant medicine and soap in my desert studio.
