Situado en el Estrecho de Mackinac, ideal para aquellos que desean una tranquila escapada sereno para disfrutar de la naturaleza y ver los barcos pasar. Rodeado de dos acres de bosques con una gran playa rocosa en el lago Hurón, los únicos sonidos que escuchará son las de las hojas de robo en los árboles y las olas rompiendo en la orilla. Piscina está disponible en su puerta. Senderismo y excelente pesca en tres lagos interiores o en el lago Huron es una aventura. Bois Blanc Island está ubicado a minutos de Cheboygan, donde puedes coger el ferry. DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE DUE TO LACK OF VITAL INFO I booked this cottage after searching VRBO for lodging in St. Ignace, as the listing stated it was only 18 miles away. Having never been to Bois Blanc Island, I did not realize that getting there—and traveling to the places we had planned to visit—required an expensive car ferry (188) from St. Ignace, with advance reservations that were especially difficult to obtain over Labor Day weekend. I booked on the Wednesday evening prior to LD weekend. It was approved on Thursday, the 5 hour drive to St.Ignace began Friday morning. Our plans included Mackinac Island and Pictured Rocks. The ferry operator advised us that staying on the island would be very impractical for our plans because of the time, cost and more importantly, the ferry was fully booked all weekend. He suggested a strategy of hanging around the dock and ask the operator if perhaps there was room! Unfortunately, we learned this only after arriving. While the listing does mention Bois Blanc Island and the ferry, I believe the added cost, advance reservation requirement and potential difficulty getting off the island should have been made much clearer to guests unfamiliar with the area. I respectfully requested a partial refund from the total 950 from Karen because of the misunderstanding and said I'd book in future and discuss her place in my social circles., but the host flatly declined. This could have been avoided with clearer communication before booking.

We had an amazing time and the cabin was on of the nicest places we have ever stayed! Secluded with amazing views, and time to enjoy the scenery and our family! I’ll absolutely be back!!

Memorial weekend

ATV trips around the island, fishing, and bonfires on the beach, relaxing family get a way. Very secluded and quiet, neighbors weren't up. Great time.

Michigan paradise

We love the cottage right by the lake and the deer that came through twice a day. It was all so quiet and peaceful. The cabin had everything we needed.

Perfect place for rest and relaxation, the house is immaculate, the view from the house is amazing, and having your own beach to hang out on is priceless. Do yourself a favor and book this place!!

Perfect getaway cottage

Cook's cottage was exactly as described online. Quiet, secluded and beautiful views, right out your backdoor. Everyone we met on the island was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you want to get away from the hustle and bustle.

Island stay

What a wonderful cabin right on Lake Huron. Really enjoyed our stay, recommend this cabin to anyone wishing to stay on BBI. Property manager and owner were very helpful answering any questions. This cabin has a well equipped kitchen with everything you would need. Thank you for sharing you lovely cabin with us.

Great Escape

Our second time here, and we absolutely loved it. Honestly, I could just spend all my time just gazing at the water. Super relaxing, lots of wildlife, we swam, read, explored, got up to see the spectacular sunrise, had campfires in the evening, watched the moon rise over the water. The cabin is very clean, and had everything we needed. We will be back.

This charming cottage, overlooking crystal clear blue water, is just heavenly. We loved it!

My family and I had the most amazing 4 days on BBI: catching frogs, marveling at amazing rocks, waking up for sunsets and just relaxing. Cook Cottage was peaceful and just what I was seeking to escape the stresses of everyday life (at least until the last night, when we had some very loud neighbors move in to Grandpa Bob’s). We really enjoyed exploring the island, seeing wildlife and the friendliness of the islanders. We would absolutely love to come back sometime.

Waterfront Solitude

Very clean home on a nice quiet lot. Well-stocked kitchen with every imaginable utensil, lots of bath towels, pillows and blankets, lawn chairs, charcoal and lighter and everything you could possibly need! Not much to do on the island since we didn't have a 4 wheeler, but we sure enjoyed the quiet down time!

bois blanc vacation

The house and property were just as the ad said. The house was spotless and very comfortable for my family of 4. The property was breath-taking and we saw many deer, and even a bald eagle. I would highly recommend this property if your looking for place to get away from the daily grind. We had a great vacation and recharged are batteries. We will be returning to this place again, of that I am sure.

Very clean and well-equipped home in exceptional island location

What a delightful stay my father and I had at this wonderful home on Bois Blanc! The clear and detailed directions made it very easy to find and we were settled in in no time. We were grateful for the host’s wide array of local information and activity suggestions, our favorite of which was simply to take in the enchanting Lake Huron shore only steps away from the porch. The timely and detailed communication with the host was perfect and the home on arrival was spotlessly clean. We definitely hope to be back next summer!

Best Place to be Sick!

Our family stayed here over labor day and my husband's birthday. First day there we all ended up coming down with a sickness so we spent the next few days just in this house listening to Lake Huron. We had everything we could need to stay put and still have a relaxing time. Fortunately before we left we were feeling much better and we could do a little exploring. We kept it to the natural environments so nobody else got sick. The property manager was very responsive and helpful to our needs and questions. We would stay here again.

Karen grew up spending summers on Bois Blanc, so when we had children, we wanted them to get to know the Island. The boys, like their parents have come to love and appreciate Bois Blanc with all its unique discoveries. We look forward all winter to spending our summers on the Island.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

The privacy of Cook Cottage is what first attracted us to this property. The cottage is set away from the road, when we don't want to see or hear civilization, this is the perfect spot. The east end of the Island has beautiful sunrises and is close to Mary's Lake and trails for discovery. The beautiful view from the cottage down to Lake Huron provides an excellent view of wildlife including eagle, deer and the like. The cottage is bright and cheerfully decorated with a lighthouse decor.

Nights spent viewing the Milky Way from our beach front is uniquely spectacular, as we don't have the light pollution from the mainland. Awesome!!
