EASY STREET HIDEAWAY: Vacation in our cozy cottage style space with convenient ground level entry into a daylight basement. (Upper unit will be listed in the future.) Recent paint, updated floors and restful atmosphere await your holiday getaway. A privacy lattice protects you from extremely sunny and windy days. Enjoy the beautiful Rockaway coast line, seaside shops and small town vibe while relaxing on the sunny patio or unwinding indoors on easy street. The owners: Mike and Dora live nearby, please feel free to ask us questions through the VRBO app.

*Cell phone coverage is sporadic at the unit due to the hill behind the house, but it works well at the beach and near the shops.*

*Easy Street Hideaway is the basement half of a sweet little duplex. Park on driveway pad in front of garage.*

*The lockbox code will generate by mid-afternoon day of arrival. Minimum 2 night stay.*

*Spectrum is the internet provider and can be intermittent in the general area. DVD's are provided, local TV channels are accessible or you can stream through your own subscriptions. (No cable available.)*

Unit is nice. Location by ocean is great. Beds, sheets, towels all top notch. Note, the unit is close to a wastewater plant.

1. We received the code to the lockbox just ahead of check in time. It took us 4 tries to open the damaged lockbox, so be patient. Luckily we took a photo of the instructions because the location of the property doesn’t allow good cell phone signal to get through. The wi-fi was very weak that day and we had no WiFi signal at front door. Another day, no WiFi in all of Spectrum area for 1/2 day. 2. The furnishings are dark and tired in a very tight area. The TV is a small 32” that has a mind of its own. (One day it shut itself off 4 times in one hour.) The guide is locked and time is an hour off. The host noted WiFi is intermittent and she was right. Dishes and utensils are well used. 3. Apartment has 3 windows; 2 are below ground level and the front one is blocked by lattice. There is a grassy area for kid’s play, and 2 chairs and small table behind lattice so there is no view. No bbq, either. Beds are good. It could use a small dresser in both bedrooms. 4. All appliances worked in house, but you need to bring basics like salt and pepper, sugar, etc. There wasn’t enough salt to boil pasta water! We are regular VRBO clients and have never run into a kitchen with as few basic staples. 5. The walk to the beach is easy and 4 short blocks away. Same for a few stores and very casual restaurants, especially ice cream stores. One beach blanket and 2 chairs.6. This VRBO could use updating so it feels like you are on a vacation. Note to host: Costco has a 55” tv for 279.

We loved staying at this rental! The space was the perfect size for our family and the location was very close to the beach in a quiet neighborhood. We appreciated the full size kitchen which helped us cut costs on food, and the provided washer and dryer were lifesavers. The travel crib was easy to locate and the rooms were very spacious. We especially loved the twin bed in our room so we could fit our children in with us. The bathroom is big with a good-size counter and the shower (and water pressure) were fabulous! We also loved that there were children’s books, movies, and games to play with. Oh and the beach chairs and beach blanket was such a nice touch and made our beach days so easy (as we flew to Oregon for our vacation)! The only downsides were the strange, dank smell when first entering the apartment and the fact that there was NO service or internet in the home. That made it very difficult to communicate with my extended family who were staying at other locations. Overall, though, we would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay here again if/when we come back!

The house was comfortable and quiet, and the manager was quick to accommodate my needs. The beach is close, as well as a grocery store and a variety of restaurants and other shops.

Excellent Location to enjoy Rockaway Beach

The best part of this property is the location. It is three blocks off the highway and 5 blocks from the beach. We parked our car and never got in it again for 5 days. It was far enough from the highway/main street that noise was never an issue. The kitchen was adequately stocked, the beds were comfortable. The only complaints from my family were that the pillows were not very comfortable. There were many nearby restaurants and markets. Great location and accommodation for a beach vacation.

Awesome property

This is the second time weve stayed here. The host Dora, is always quick to respond if you have a need or question. Its a truly lovely little place with everything you need. The wifi is spotty as mentioned but its great to take a break from technology, yah?There is blueray and movies. Very clean and just a couple blocks from main St and beach and far enough away to be restful and quiet. My son and I love staying here and hope to return next year.

Fun in Rockaway Beach

The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. The written instructions about check-in and check-out were very clear. It was the cleanest place that I have ever rented! The host was very receptive when I made a suggestion. The apartment is 3 blocks from the beach and does not have a view, but it is in a quiet neighborhood.

My family is coming here for the second year in a row. We rented this house in 2023 for six nights, in 2024 for eight nights, we really wanted to stay at least one more night. And we are already dreaming of returning here in 2025. The house is very cozy and has everything you need. I recommend it.

We’d stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay in this property. It’s on the far side of town from the beach, which means one doesn’t hear the surf, but also no loud parties, etc. It’s 0.3 mile to the beach, about a 5 minute walk. It’s actually catty-corner from the town’s sewage plant, which really isn’t as bad as one might think. Almost no smells at all, although when outside, you hear a constant hum of pumps, although not loud. The neighborhood is peaceful and seems safe. Most places we stay in near beaches tend to be musty. This place had vinyl flooring and a dehumidifier, so no problems that way. The place was totally clean and neat. The bed we used was quite comfortable. There are two bedrooms, then one walks through a hall and through the laundry room to reach the bathroom, which has all-new fixtures. The shower is a walk-in one; I felt a bit guilty showering, as it seems to have a high flow and no way to cut down the flow. My wife would have preferred having a bathtub. There was no anti-slip feature to the shower floor, and no grab bars. I’m a pretty good techie, but we could never figure out how to get the TV to work for DVD or streaming, but if one wants to watch TV, that works. Fortunately, the WiFi is adequate that we could stream on an iPad, and of course read. We are short people, and many shelves, as well as mirrors, were too high for us. No stepstools.

Weekend getaway

Place is within walking distance of the beach, which we loved. Kitchen was well stocked, house was very clean. We were able to check in earlier than expected thanks to the easy communication with our host. I’d say our only complaint would be one of the beds was so loud, very squeaky when you laid down (we used it for put infant) but

Coastal getaway

This rental was a perfect fit for our needs. The rental was very neat and clean, it actually looked like new inside. The beds are very comfortable. It is located in a quiet part of town and is a great place to relax. We even had a doe and a fawn come walking up the driveway within a few feet of our front window.

It was clean and quiet. Cell phone connection was spotty but it was an enjoyable stay. Close to town and beach. Truly enjoyed our stay here.

Exceptional

We really enjoyed our stay here and would love to stay anytime we're in the area. The home is set up very nicely and was well equipped with almost everything we needed. We did have to buy some coffee for the coffee maker as there was none. The laundry facilities were great. The only downside was that the floors weren't clean. There were hairs and loose fuzz, etc from the people before us. Everything else was spotless though.
