**Lake Lure is scheduled to reopen for full operations on May 1st, 2026 with the return of boating, swimming and fishing. Be sure to reserve your spot before dates are taken. We look forward to your visit and your continued support to the local community.**

The ultimate Lake Lure escape awaits! This exclusive lakehouse offers incredible outdoor space with gorgeous lake and mountain views. The popular Lake House Restaurant is just around the corner – head down to the boathouse and launch the provided kayaks and paddleboards from the private dock and paddle down the cove for lakefront dining.

There’s also a large raised lakefront deck, which offers alfresco dining and loungers. Steps lead down to a small beach area, and a gas grill and wood-burning firepit invite cookouts at home.

Inside, contemporary-chic decor creates a sophisticated style, while a stone fireplace provides added warmth. Unwind into vacation mode and watch a movie in the living area. Cable is provided using a streaming app, and additional streaming services are available using your own accounts.

Find everything you need to prepare delicious recipes in the fully equipped kitchen, where sleek stainless steel appliances contrast stylishly with royal blue cabinets. When you’re ready to eat, enjoy home-cooked meals in the sunny dining area, which features a natural wood picnic-style table and fantastic lake views.

THINGS TO KNOW
-This property has numerous stairs leading down to the house and down to the lake. Not all areas have hand rails.
-Lake Lure is a man made lake that is drawn down 12 feet each winter season for maintenance. This will impact shorelines. Water will be back up to normal levels in mid April.
-Please be sure to reach out directly to organizations/businesses for current hours of operation.
-This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Beautiful cottage but… stairs and more stairs! And the lake is drained

The cottage was immaculate with everything we needed for cooking. Beds and linens very comfortable. A cute place. However, know that there are many many stairs and steps and no railing for some stairs- very difficult for elderly or young. Know also that the lake is drained til 2026 so no water around the cottage even for a nice view.

Perfect mini-Spring Break! Exceptionally clean, well-stocked. Thankful to see how much recovery has occurred—didn’t know the lake was drown down so far but we loved the view all the same. Thank you for sharing your property with us.

The property was nice. Wish I would have read that the lake was closed and drained. It is posted so it is my fault for not reading it more thoroughly. If the lake was open and usable paying 1k for a two night stay seemed reasonable. Charging this for a lake house where the lake is closed should be illegal. The accommodations were nice but hardly a fair price to be on a drained lake. I would feel ashamed charging someone this price knowingly that they could not enjoy the lake.

Love this house!

The house is great but it’s the boat deck/house and the lake that make it awesome! The owners provide lots of floats and kayaks and paddle boards so it’s a fun time.

Perfect getaway

We had the perfect long-weekend getaway at the Blue Moon Cottage! It was great being right on the water and having paddle boards, kayaks, floats and more! The space is so cozy and was perfect for our group of 4. If you’re looking for a relaxing, fun trip nestled in the mountains with gorgeous views, look no further. We will be back!

Blissful Vacation

We stayed for a week in June and it was amazing. The cottage is nicely decorated and well equipped with new appliances and furniture. We spent most of our time on the deck on the boat house enjoying the views, swimming, paddle boarding and relaxing! This home is truly a gem and the perfect getaway.

Perfect lake house

This was the perfect lake house for a girls weekend. The house is adorable and had everything we needed. Loved being able to just walk into the lake and go swimming. Plenty of rafts and kayaks there for use. Loved that chimney rock was a short drive away. Can’t wait to come back!

Great Lake Lure house

The house was perfect for myself, my husband, 2 boys and 2 dogs. The boathouse and dock were our favorites. The kitchen and bathrooms were lovely and well provisioned. Great place for family and dogs!

Long weekend with friends

This was our third trip to the lake and we really loved this cottage. Beautiful, modern updates and plenty of room for 4 adults. Quiet cove, room for our boat to pull up alongside the dock. Would book again!

Perfect Lake Getaway

The house is absolutely perfect for a lake stay. We enjoyed the sun deck for afternoon lounging and the hammock was a favorite. At night we used the fire pit and the hot tub. It is close to town and the grocery store. We will definitely return!

Lake Lure adventure

This house is very private located on a cove with a view of the lake. The firepit, upper deck and porch gave you several spots to view the water and just relax. The cottage is updated and is very comfortable. Just a few updates that the owners could make that would make this place an even better gem.

Great spot on Lake Lure

The house was just as described and looked like the pictures! Cozy yet enough space for what I needed. The location on the lake was great, in a little cove, but not right on top of other houses. Enjoyed the sun deck and swimming and paddling in the lake. Suggest bringing your own paddle board if you like that! Will definitely be back, maybe in the fall to enjoy a fire and the hot tub!

Peaceful lake cottage

This is exactly what we were needing. What a beautiful home overlooking the lake! We cannot wait to go back. We really liked that you can easily access the lake just by a couple of steps (perfect for children). Stocked kitchen was essential for all of our cooking needs.

Our second time visiting 🤩

We can’t not say enough good things about this place! it is incredible. This is our second time visiting and it just feels like coming home! It’s always such a peaceful retreat for us! A place to recharge and take in the beautiful nature! This time we also visited Chimney Rock village which was so fun, found some great eats and places for drinks!

Perfect lake home

Our family of 5 loved spending our Spring Break here. Even with the water down for the season, we could easily get the provided kayaks and paddle boards into the lake. The home is clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked. We also enjoyed soaking in the hot tub overlooking the water and soaking up the sun on the deck over the boathouse. We will be back, for sure!

2nd visit

We stayed here back in April and loved it so much we booked again for early October. The leaves had just begun to change and it was still a perfect 70 deg High and 55 low. We tried multiple restaurants and hiking trails nearby and took out the paddle boards/kayaks from the cottage. Can’t wait to come back!

Blue Moon Cottage is a MUST stay!!!!

A perfect combination of cozy cottage and modern amenities!!! The cottage is well appointed and Deeanna is an incredible host. Not only did she answer any questions I had...but her level of excitement for us to visit truly made us feel like family!! We made the most of our visit...paddle boards, kayaks, a campfire with s'mores ...and a relaxing time in the hot tub. The ONLY disappointing part of our stay is when we had to say goodbye. We will return for sure!!! Thank you for a wonderful visit Blue Moon Cottage...you are quite a special place!💙

Loved our stay!

This place had everything we needed for a nice relaxing long weekend. The decor, the outdoor space, the views. Just stunning! I cannot wait to return. The bedding was so comfortable I slept so well. Hot water and water pressure was on point. It’s the little things. So much attention to detail on this cottage! Loved the outdoor lighting!! We spent the day hiking at Chimney rock and that was much more beautiful than I had anticipated. The little town had some great restaurants and shops right on the river.
