Lakehouse w Boat, SUPs, Kayaks, Hot tub, Firepit, Fireplace, Resort

Our lakehouse offers direct access to beautiful Bald Mountain Lake. Our guests have access to our 4-seat Sea Eagle boat with quiet E-propulsion electric motor to explore the lake. We also provide 2 Stand Up Paddleboards and 2 kayaks. The large, flat back yard offers a fire-pit. We provide firewood. Buffalo Creek flows through the property and into the lake. The lakehouse has a fireplace and hot tub. The property has high-speed wi-fi (200 Mbps) and we provide a free Level 2 EV charging station.

Our home includes five bedrooms and three bathrooms. We have a fireplace in the living room. We allow indoor fires and provide fire-wood during the cool months Oct - April. There is a screened porch on the second level with views of the lake. We have an outdoor gas grill (propane is provided).

Our property is within the Resort at Rumbling Bald which has frontage on Lake Lure. Guests can enjoy the amenities of the resort, which include:

• Two world-class golf courses.
• Wellness center featuring dry sauna, indoor pool, hot tub, steam room and fitness center. All included in your stay!
• Two outdoor pools & Outdoor lazy river. Open daily from Memorial May to Labor Day and weekends for two weekends before and after.
• Tennis, volleyball, putt-putt and basketball courts.
• Outdoor games including corn hole, horseshoes and giant chess/checker boards-- Putt-putt course
• Legends on the Lake restaurant, which has a back deck with views of Lake Lure.

Some of the amenities, such golf, have associated resort fees. Others, such as indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and hiking, are free for guests.

Our home is one hour to Asheville. The nearest grocery store (Ingles) is about 20 minutes away.

Great family retreat for all seasons. Please visit Rumbling Bald Resort website to see what activities will be available at the time of your stay. Some of the restaurants are seasonally closed or operate with limited hours. Lake Lure is expected to remain closed through May 1 of 2026 for recovery work from Hurricane Helene. The lake our actual house is located on, Bald Mountain Lake, is fully accessible and has excellent water quality.

We will consider allowing a pet (dog only) to be brought with guests on a case by case basis. We generally will allow one dog to be brought if under 50 pounds if guests agree to follow our house rules on pets. Please let us know if you wish to bring a pet and we can review the house policies.

Other house policies:
• Primary renter must be 21+ years old to rent.
• Two-day minimum stay.
• No motorcycles – resort rules.
• No smoking in the house.
• No fishing license required on Bald Mountain Lake.
• Check in at 4 PM; check-out a 10 AM.

Cell-phone service in Lake Lure and Rumbling Bald is spotty. Smart phones can be enabled via Settings to use the wi-fi at our house to make phone calls using the wi-fi calling function.

The lake home was very clean and had all the amenities to make for a successful trip. Parking is ample, the interior is roomy, and the outdoor spaces are delightful! There are walking trails near by as well as golf and a gym. If you need to go to the store it isn’t far. A great stay especially during the warm months this would be terrific!

We had the perfect fall getaway in this cabin. Our group was friends in their 40s and two 18-year-olds. We let the teenagers have the downstairs with the TV so they could play their video games. The adults took the upstairs which had the kitchen and the fireplace. It was chilly while we were there and we much enjoyed the wood-burning fireplace, added great ambience. We got great use out of the kitchen for cooking meals and we all fit great around the extra large kitchen table for eating and activities. The large hot tub was nice and toasty with a great view of the lake. We enjoyed getting out on the two boats that are offered with the property. Very peaceful out on the lake. The couches in both living room areas were very comfy. Several games were provided. The host was super friendly. Excellent communication, quick to fix any issues, very flexible with check-in and check-out times. The property is located through a gated community which adds an extra level of feeling safe, but also this house is surrounded by woods so you don’t feel like you’re right on top of your neighbors. You’re in a neighborhood but you don’t feel like it you are. You feel like you’re in a cabin in the woods. Beautiful drive around the lake and into the Lake Lure area. We ate at Victory Kitchen near by twice for breakfast it was so yummy. There is also an Ingles grocery store about 20 mins away for any grocery needs. We would definitely stay here again.

Property was perfect for Dad's 80th Birthday celebration. Too much to do in 3 days. Never even left the property for the resort amenities. The welcoming committee (a juvenile black bear) greeted us within the first 15 minutes of arrival. Property was perfectly tucked away from the rest of the resort. Sooooo quiet!! Brownie was very hospitable and accommodating to our parents' needs. We have definitely filed this place in our return folder.

A Perfect Family Getaway

My family absolutely loved this property. It had everything we could want. The extra sediment at the end of the stream from the hurricane was great for us as it allowed more space for the toddlers to play in the stream. My family will be returning!

Love Lake Lure

It was so nice to see how wonderful Lake Lure is looking again since the flooding from the hurricane. Our family enjoyed the house and the activities at the resort. Communication with the owner was excellent. We definitely recommend.

Family Mountain Vacation

Great location. Enjoyed the various watercraft at the house, the views, and the resort amenities. Spacious house for us (five adults, two teens, and one child). Bedroom/bathroom is a little strange (main level has three bedrooms but one bath; lower level has two bedrooms and two baths)

First Big Family Vacation

House worked well, kids loved the boats provided that is a great amenity. Only used resort one time but it was really nice. We will plan to be back.

May Getaway

We went in early May and had a great time. Rumbling Bald is a nice resort with activities, pool (indoor and outdoor-in season). The onsite restaurants were good, and my wife enjoyed a nice spa day. The kids had plenty to do between all the activities and games at the home, plus the natural attraction of the lake. Being on the private lake-Bald Mountain was nice as it stayed quiet and lightly trafficked; I'm sure it gets much busier during the regular tourist season. Everything described was accurate. The layout of the house is neat for a short stay. Like most of the area, you need to be able bodied around steps. Hosts-Brownie and Leigh Anne-were both outstanding. Couldn't ask for nicer, more responsive people. Thank you for an excellent stay. Weather warning-not sure if it was typical (maybe the new typical), but it was pretty wet while we were there with rain showers and severe storms. The power even went out briefly. That said, we still had plenty of time to roam about, visit Chimney Rock for a day, etc.

The perfect lake stay!

This house was lovely! We really enjoyed having access to water activities right on the property. We went for a long weekend with a group of women and everyone had a great time. It was really nice to be able to use the property amenities that we spend the majority of our time at the house, because there was so much to do. We all agreed that we should come back for another trip!

Perfect family getaway

Property is great for you and old. Love all the activities for the kids and the adults could be part of the action without having to clumb a ton of stairs. Best spot on the lake!

Fun family vacation

Beautiful area….wonderful view of the lake. Many boats to choose from. The house has an odd layout, but we were fine with that. Never heard from the host, but we had no complaints.

Beautiful Lake House

My extended family and I had the most wonderful stay. The home was nice and comfortable and we loved the lakefront and spent most of our time chilling in the water or around the fire pit. The little electric boat was a ton of fun too! Communication and check-in was nice and easy. Would definitely stay again!

Stay at Round bald

Overall it was a very enjoyable time! The kayaks and fire pit were great and we enjoyed them very much! The fishing from the dock was surprisingly successful as well! This is the third time our family has stayed in Lake Lure and the property was the best fot we have found thus far. Thank you for letting us enjoy ypur property!
