In the historic Fassbinder section of Durango, this 2019 house sits on the Animas River, where you can enjoy Gold Medal fly fishing, kayaking, swimming, or just watch the water pass by. For mountain bikers and hikers, there are multiple trailheads less than a mile away, accessing some of the best single track systems in the United States, including the Colorado Trail.
Across the river on a pedestrian swinging bridge, you'll find the Powerhouse Science Center, a former steam power plant that now houses a children's museum and STEM classes. We're also a 5 minute walk from grocery stores, coffee shops, parks, a library, wildlife museum and fish hatchery (for a complete list of attractions, see https://www.colorado.com/official-colorado-travel-resources/visit-durango) .
Durango also offers easy access to an incredible number of day trips in every direction: the unique archaeology of Mesa Verde National Park and Canyon of the Ancients, skiing in Purgatory and Silverton, or the world's deepest hot springs in Pagosa Springs.
The house was custom built in 2019 and is equipped with cozy in-floor radiant heating and oak floors, two bedrooms, a light-filled kitchen and large upstairs deck.
