Bring your horse for an amazing vacation or, for experienced riders, enjoy riding one of ours.

With over 150 acres , miles of trails, and a well stocked private lake you are sure to have an amazing visit!

Lake House has two king bedrooms, each with private bathrooms, and a sleeping loft with a queen bed.

Your well behaved dogs are welcome to visit too!

Best Vacation Ever

We absolutely loved this place. It was the best family vacation we ever had. The owners (Randy and Lisa) were awesome. Very friendly and attentive. Could not say enough about how good our time was there. We are already booking another stay for next year!

Great stay. Relaxing

Check-in and check- out was a breeze.Nice to have a lake on site. Horses and ducks were a nice touch. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating.

Relaxing

The Lake House was the perfect place for a weekend of relaxation. Randy and Lisa are the best property managers I have ever dealt with. My husband and I felt like we were at our own home. We will definitely be back.

Excellent place to stay

Our stay was very relaxing and we had a great view of the water. The owners were fantastic and allowed us to explore the beautiful property. We enjoyed all of the amenities that came with the house including kayaks, fishing rods, fire pit, etc. We had a great time and plan to return!

Lots of fun at the Lake House at Lizard Sniffer

The hosts Randy and Lisa were great they took care of all our needs. Cabin was very clean and comfortable.We got to fish, boat and horse back ride during our stay.Our dogs loved it ,running with us as we explored the vast property. Also I indulged in my favorite hobby astrophotography, photographing several deep sky objects under the gorgeous clear dark skies of Lizard Sniffer ranch. We will be coming back to this amazing place.

Booked for my parents and aunt & uncle through VRBO to stay at for my daughter’s wedding weekend and somehow cousins on my other side of my family had also booked it through a different app. They’re all close, but there wasn’t enough room for 11 people at the one house. Owners worked something out and were great! Everyone enjoyed the houses and property!

a peaceful place to visit

This is our 3rd year staying at the Lizard Sniffer. It is always very clean and peaceful. We love being able to walk the trails on their land and this year they let us use a golf cart to see even more of the trails. We also rode their horses which was a huge plus. The hosts are very nice and friendly. We will be back next year for our annual trip.

Another great stay

This was our second time staying there. It is very peaceful. Just a short trip to Durham town off-road from the house. Beautiful views and lots of trails to walk. We’ll be back again!

Durhamtown Trip

Randy was great. The lake house was just as pictured. We came to go 4-wheeling for 2 days at a place called Durhamtown nearby. However, the farm and the lake were so nice we only went 4-wheeling at Durhamtown 1 day. The second day we stayed at the house. The lake had plenty of catch and release Bass. The A/C was very cold. Fans in all rooms. Wifi was great. Water and water pressure was great!! I could go on but definitely don't miss out on this great place!!!

All we hoped for!

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay in the Lake House. Spent mornings with a cup of coffee on the back patio watching the geese, turtles, beaver, and fish. Lots of time walking the trails and kayaking on the lake. Thank you for a perfect vacation.

Loved the property

The only thing I found wrong was the fridge was leaking, It was like the door wouldn't close completely. Other than that, it was a beautiful property. I will return.

The best weekend

We had the best weekend at Lizard Sniffer. None of us wanted to leave. We played in the lake, rode horses and explored all of the trails on the property. The lake house had everything we needed and Randy and Lisa were super hospitable. It was clean and cozy. We will definitely be back!

Great remote place to stay

My family and I came to Georgia to see the Tuesday practice round of the Masters. While we would have preferred to stay closer to Augusta, all of the VRBOs closer had ridiculously inflated their prices for the week. Randy's place was priced fairly and was charming to boot.The house was fully stocked with coffee, sweeteners, spices and a large bowl of Hersheys minatures. We only used the two bedrooms, not the loft, and each bedroom had it's own bathroom. The house was super clean. Waking up and having coffee on the deck overlooking the lake was the relaxing start to the final day we needed.Communication was great. I would definitely rent from Randy again.

It’s exactly what the doctor ordered. Mother nature didn’t cooperate as it rained every single day and every night, but we needed to relax, and this place was perfect for that. We ended up making a few trips to Atlanta, but the thing that I can say is most amazing are the hosts, Randy and Lisa. They kept checking on us to make sure we are OK with the heavy rains. They were just wonderful. My wife and I were both tired from working so we loved watching TV and getting rest and eating and relaxing. It’s a perfect place for that. I can imagine how amazing it would be if the weather was sunny . It didn’t matter we still had a great time and we’re very appreciative of everything they did for us. They were very attentive. Enjoyed looking at all the wildlife and all the fish jumping out of the lake. Amazing. I recommend this place highly. We’re hoping to go back in the fall.

Family Spring Break 2024

We booked the lake house for a wedding we had to attend and stayed longer to turn it into a vacation! This place is amazing! The house is just big enough and the lake was a lot if fun! I caught an 8LB bass out of it! Randy is an excellent communicator and him and his wife went out of their way to get my wife on a horse and give us a golf cart to ride the property! Can’t wait to come back! If you are looking for a relaxing but not boring family getaway trip, this is the place to do it!

Soak up some rays while floating by the sand beach or take one of the kayaks out for a little spin.

Well stocked with trophy bass, crappie, and bluegill, you're sure to enjoy your time casting.

Miles of trails to walk, bike, jog, or trail-ride horses. Our cabins are private and unique with no shortage of amenities and surprises! :)
