Plus the COMPLEX & POOL are RENOVATED!! Recently upgraded pool decking, siding and roofs for complex (March 2018);

Ocean Reef 701 is a spacious, 3-story gulf front vacation town house accommodating 8-10 guests.

Ocean Reef is situated in a prime location along Alabama's beautiful gulf coast and easy walking distance to the center of town.

3BR/2.5BA beach front home has 2 balconies, one off the living room, one off the master bedroom, overlooking the beach and gulf, with staircase leading down to the white sand beach. This fully equipped home has D/W, W/D, 4 TVs (All large Flat Screens)/2 Blueray DVDs, icemaker and all appliances. Parking for 2 cars covered - Permit required ($32/vehicle); Parking pass(es) will be purchased on-site at the guard shack, which is located in front of the pool, after 4pm CT. The parking pass must be purchased with cash only. BBQ area next to gorgeous pool.

We have stayed at this unit many times and never disappointed! The views and location is amazing . Walking distance to many restaurants and shops too. The townhouse was clean and prepped and loved the upgrade in the unit .

Perfect size, perfect location

Our three kids (ages 11-14) slept in the loft bedroom (3 beds), which was perfect. Some people don't like carpet (stairs and bedrooms) but I love it. We loved having the semi private deck with direct beach access. The only issue we had was that one of the tv remotes had a corroded battery compartment, so that TV was out of service (one of the bedrooms). But overall it was a wonderful stay!

Ocean Reef 701 Honest Review!

Overall a good stay! You share a porch with two other townhouses- The bedrooms are located on 2nd and 3rd floor. The house was clean with the exception of the fans! The bedroom on the 3rd floor was pretty warm so bring a fan, the rest of the house cooled really well! We enjoyed having a half bath on the main floor! Close range to everything- a nice townhouse on the beach front! Check in process was easy, check out process was easy. A little crowded beach area, but that’s what you get to be in the center of gulf shores! We loved having restaurants and souvenir shops across the street! Overall a good stay with all the amenities pretty close! It’s an overall great stay for the price!

Great location but unclean

We were happy with the location but not with the lack of cleanliness. It is clear in the photos that the unit is dated, which is fine, but to get there and have an excess of unclean areas was not fine. When i reached out to the property company about this, they said they realized it was dated, as if that was the cleanliness issue, but it wasnt. They sent housekeeping to come clean unannounced and people were showering and getting ready, so that was frustrating. I would not stay here again and could not recommend it to a friend. (Hair in floor/counters, plastic silverware up in bedroom floor, boogers wiped on wall, black mold in sink, shower, and washer, etc are just a few things that were not acceptable to us)

Great location but….

It was an amazing location! The kids loved being able to walk to get ice cream and shop and do all things Pokémon! If you plan on spending any time on the deck know that privacy will be at a premium! You not only share a deck with 3 other units but you are on the end where people are also washing off from the beach and that’s where you car is, so beware of people walking by with all their beach supplies. You are also very close the next unit when on the deck (people from the unit over even propped a raft up to give a little privacy while we were all out on the deck together). Things are older but it was clean. The beds were comfortable and it had almost every kitchen supply we needed (no measuring cups but we managed). The 3rd level was VERY hot when we arrived. They ask all the fans to be off when you leave and you could feel the heat at the bottom of the steps. Once the ceiling fan ran it felt much better the next day but wish we would have brought a small fan. We did have an issue with the garbage disposal breaking and it was replaced quickly while we were out one day.

This setup has been in place since the property was built, but your input is valuable as we continue to look for ways to improve guest comfort. We apologize for any confusion regarding our departure instructions. We do not ask guests to turn off the fans; however, we do request that lights, TVs, and other appliances be turned off upon departure to help us conserve energy. We are glad to hear that the cleanliness of the property met your expectations and that the beds were comfortable. We also appreciate your note about the missing measuring cups; we will ensure they are included in the kitchen for future guests. Regarding the temperature on the third level, we apologize for any discomfort you experienced upon arrival. We are reviewing our procedures to better manage the temperature and will take your suggestion of bringing a small fan into account for future reference. Thank you for acknowledging the quick resolution of the garbage disposal issue. We strive to address maintenance concerns as swiftly as possible to ensure a smooth stay for our guests. great location

loved this stay! Right on beach-literally walk out from porch and walk to chairs on the beach. White sand. It was optimal. We have four kids and we felt safe to allow the older ones to run back to the beach house for a bit without us. The condo was plenty big for our family of 6. Things to note: master bath was very small. Only one kitchen towel and one rag and nothing to scrub dishes with in the kitchen. We cook a lot bc of the size of our family and these things were disappointing to me. oh, and no measuring spoons. I always bring SO many things with us and have never had to bring those items before. Also, something odd was there were no comforters. After thinking about this, it is understandable—I cannot imagine washing all of that every week but It seems it should be noted. We would have brought more blankets/throws. The only other negative is that you do share a balcony. You have your own space but just not the same as having your own spot. There are chair/umbrella rentals available to on the beach out front, which is super handy, We have four kids ranging from 15-6 and have always stayed at a large condo w huge pool and we weren’t sure if they would like this as much bc of the amenities we usually have but they ALL said they much preferred the smaller condo RIGHT on the beach to the huge high rise condo on the beach. Just thought I would share that in case someone else is considering the same thing.

GREAT Location but disappointing management and bad housekeeping.

This location is great - walking distance to restaurants and shops and the beachfront location is wonderful! If it were not for the issues we've had with this listing and the cleanliness, we would rent again next year. (1) Details are not all listed on this listing! We arrived on Sunday - listing says check in BEGINS at 4 - details provided after booking and mgmt said office closes AT 4pm and to avoid late check-in charges, we needed to arrive earlier than 4. We changed travel plans so we could arrive before 4pm. When we spoke with the management company about this, they seemed uncaring about the discrepancy - this detail was important because we reserved this at a point where no refund was offered after securing the booking! Management company seemed not to care about the discrepancy in the listing when we spoke on the phone. (2) Listing does not tell you that you pay for parking ($32) in CASH ONLY upon arrival even though it was already prepaid in the reservation. We were promptly refunded the amount when we checked out, but this added another errand when we arrived - finding an ATM. (3) Housekeeping done on this listing was NOT acceptable. it has the usual older worn amenities that are common to a beach rental and that isn't an issue, but the bedding was stained AND dirty. We washed the blankets and it removed some of the marks but not all - staining is evident. Found pans under the cabinet that had not been washed and caked with old grime. Cabinets were grease stained

Hi Wendy, thanks for your review and happy to know you enjoyed the location, it really is great! We checked your reservation and see we were able to get you checked in early at 1pm. Our office closes at 4pm on Sundays (in season). Instead of stopping by the office to pickup the parking permit, we notified you that you will head directly to the property and purchase the parking permit from the security guard. Most folks like the self check-in process. We appreciate the housekeeping feedback, we've addressed it with our housekeeper. Please know guests are responsible for the dishes and we hate to hear they were left in any shape other than clean! If you encounter any issue during your stay, please call or email us.
