This lake cottage, located between Ashtabula Harbor and GOTL, is the perfect place to relax, have a glass of wine, and enjoy a good book. Play some lawn games in the private backyard and sit around the outdoor fire pit. Ready for a beach day? Pack up some beach chairs and a cooler and walk down to the private community beach where you will practically have the lake all to yourself!

Very nice Cottage right by the lake. The owners, Dave and Kate, had excellent communication. The cottage has a dishwasher and ice machine in the fridge, which was really appreciated. The decor, kitchen items and little touches throughout were very thoughtfully done. There are even condiments and seasonings for guests to use. I will definitely be back for another visit!

Old ladies weekend

The home is beautiful and very comfortable. It’s in walking distance to a lot of places to see, and a short drive to the beaches and attractions. Our group was 3 60 year olds that have been friends since the age of 18. We would definitely stay here again.

Cute Li'l Beach Getaway

My husband and I took an extended weekend to visit the shores of Lake Erie and we stayed at the Buttercup Cottage in Ashtabula. This cottage is adorable–inside and out! It's easy to find, easy to enter, and easy to feel comfortable. It's clean and has all the basic amenities you might need. Dave and Kate have great taste and have created an adorable lake-themed cottage. We used their beach pass to visit the community beach and watch the sunset on the benches there. This cottage is a short drive to Geneva-on-the-Lake and the state park there, and Ashtabula and its Harbor District and Lake Shore Park.

Cozy Space

We were in town for a dance competition at Spire. We loved the Buttercup Cottage and look forward to returning when it is warmer so that we can check out the beach area.The home was clean, in a very quiet neighborhood. We had everything we needed for our weekend stay.

Wonderful

My husband and I had such a nice relaxing time at this property. It was clean, well equipped, and comfortable. We really enjoyed the private beach nearby, as well as the fire pit in the backyard in the evening. We ran into such nice people in the community as well as their sweet pups!

Nice cottage close to waterfront

Its a nice small cottage, very clean. There is no water view from the house but you can walk in 3 min to a grassy area with benches overlooking Lake Erie. If you are both brave and agile, you can, after you walk down the wooden stairs there, climb over the rocks to get to the private beach. Its a bit more challenging if you are carrying beach chairs and a beach bad but it is lovely.

Great Girls Weekend!

This was a charming cottage for our yearly girls family getaway. Very clean and loved being so close to the lake. Sunset was beautiful. Owners were very responsive and checking in was seamless. Loved the door code and not needing a key. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Family Annual Vacation

My sons and their families and I vacation together every year for a few days to reconnect. The Buttercup Cottage was located in a central spot suited for our interests from restaurants to beaches. The layout of the cottage was perfect for our needs, the back yard was secluded and allowed room for my Grandson to run and play to his heart's content. Plenty of room in the kitchen for everyone to make meals together. Meals were in the front room at the table or outside at the patio table, which was perfect size. Being newly remodeled, everything was clean, fresh and welcoming. Memories can be made anywhere with loved ones, but, this year's memories include a comfortable and beautiful place to live while making those memories. If we decide to revisit Ashtabula, OH we will definitely stay here again. The hosts? Very nice couple were here when we arrived and are truly very nice and friendly! I reccommend this cottage without any hesitation!

Adorable Cottage- Just what we needed!

We had a girls weekend getaway and I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our stay! The cottage was adorable, and spotless! The beach was better than we expected, and we spent most of the afternoon there before exploring wine country :) We are already discussing staying here again next year! Owners were great and even recommended their favorite spots to visit.

Perfect Weekend Rental 👌

The Buttercup Cottage is great find and a perfect location for us. There's great local restaurants nearby, right by the water, and an easy 15 drive to the Spire Institute. The home itself is so nice and the owners did a great job in every room from the finishing materials to the decor. We will definitely be trying to rent again the next time we're in the area!!

My husband, Dave and I discovered Ashtabula early on in our marriage and instantly fell in love with the town. We knew this was the place we wanted to have a lake cottage for ourselves and our two little girls. In 2019, we found and purchased the house and started renovations which took over a year! We love how it turned out and we are excited to welcome guests to enjoy it too!
