The house was breathtaking and a lot more spacious than I thought. The bonfire and grill were absolutely perfect for camp vibes without the bugs and sleeping outside part. The hot tub was also very fun and was a favorite among my friends. The beds were insanely comfortable and made me not want to get out of it. Overall it was a great trip and I highly recommend!

Pro's and Con's

A group of eight of us stayed at the Farmhouse for a family get together - golf trip. The house had several positives, however there are a couple things you should be aware of before you book. First the positives:The house is definitely large enough to accommodate several guests. The 8 bedrooms and multiple baths provided both space and privacy for a large group. The family room comfortably seats 7 , and there is plenty of space to pull up chair from the big dining room table. The hot tub worked great and was enjoyed by all. Negatives:The water! The house is on a well and the water had a very strong sulfur smell. The first guests to arrive thought there was a sewage issue, nope just the water. By the end of the 4 day stay we were showering at a local golf course.The flies. You're out on a farm so some flies are to be expected, but there are no screens on the windows or doors. We spent the first half hour of our stay killing 30 flies in various parts of the house. The owner must be aware of the issue as there was fly paper hanging over the kitchen island and swatters readily available.The garage. The three-car garage is a furniture graveyard so no indoor parking if there is a storm. The basement area seemed nice, but was pretty musty. My brothers slept in the two basement bedrooms and found the beds uncomfortable.All in all it has all the makings of a decent rental, but needs some TLC. The water issue was significant enough that we wouldn't go back.

There were 13 in our party. We fit very comfortably in this house. It was clean and well kept, very comfortable. The closest neighbor was about a quarter mile away. I highly recommend this house.

Rustic Farmhouse Review

This was our second time staying at this house and was great! The house was extremely clean and all toiletries/supplies were provided. We were even welcomed with a basket filled with little snacks! Looking forward to coming back!

Retreat Stay

We booked this property for a retreat for our collegiate professional organization, and we had a great weekend! The house was very clean and well organized, and check in was very easy. We did struggle to get the AC to cool the house down but it wasn't too hot so we were okay. The hot tub was a great way to wind down at the end of the night and it worked perfectly. Overall we had a great stay!

Wonderful stay at the Farmhouse

My group had a wonderful stay at this beautiful farmhouse! The house was very clean and well maintained overall. All of the rooms had comfortable beds and big closets in addition to ceiling fans in most rooms. The bathrooms were clean and well kept. We were very comfortable in the house with a large group. The property is secluded which is great for privacy and we saw a beautiful sunset and rainbow when we were there. The hot tub worked well and the backyard was great for lawn games. There was plenty of space in the family room on the reclining couches for people to sit and watch tv/hang out. The owner was very responsive to our questions as we were booking and we had no problems while on site at the house. Great place to stay if you are looking for a more remote setting for a large group.

Girls Getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of room. Beautiful property. We did have a few challenges but no deal breakers. We definitely plan to return but here were the issues: 1. Couldn't find TV remote. Finally found it between cushions of the couch - but it took a while to think of that. 2. No power to the hot tub. It took a while for the host to get back with us on this, so it was too late to enjoy it. 3. We couldn't get the stovetop to work. Dinner was delayed for hours. Finally on a whim pulled out a different pot. It turns out some pots work on the stovetop and others do not. Who knew? 4. Someone had a left a greasy mess dripping from the oven. It was pretty bad.That's was the only item that truly bothered us. Now that we know these things, I think next stay will flow smoother. It's still a great property, a great owner and we had a ball.

Unsafe living conditions, poor communication, and dirty.

As an electrician, I would not advise anyone to stay at this Vrbo. Too many open boxes, loose wires, and poor connections. Be aware of possible electrical hazards especially with kids. Communication was poor, a lot of information prior to stay consisting of rules and expectations mainly to cover themselves. Be prepared to see no resolution if something goes wrong. Kitchen sink has a leak, drawer under the oven is full of grease, walls/floors warped from improper installation or water damage, and most of the tvs couldn’t keep a live stream for more than 5 minutes. You get what you pay for.

Cooking, crafting, and coziness

Our family needed a big place where we could all get together to make memories and this farmhouse did not disappoint! From great grandma to the youngest granddaughter, we spent time together cooking and baking our favorite family meals, making winter crafts, playing games, putting puzzles together, and watching movies cuddled up on the ample couches by the fireplace. Prophetstown State Park is nearby and we had fun touring the 1920’s farm and live animals! We’ve already heard from the rest of the extended family they want to join us next year! This house sleeps 20 comfortably and there are areas large enough to be together, but also enough areas in the house for groups to break off to do other activities.

Our family gathered to attend a graduation at Purdue. The house had plenty of space and allowed for privacy. The owner was very responsive when we could not connect to the wifi. Would highly recommend this property.

Purdue Gathering

The Farmhouse did not disappoint! The place was clean, roomy, and perfect to entertain family and friends after a football game! The back deck and hot tub was an added bonus!

Would not go back to this house

We had a group of 17 stay at the Farmhouse the first week in August. There were plenty of bedrooms for all which was one of the major reasons for picking this house. It was very nice that there was one bed on the main floor. Makes it better for ones that can’t do the stairs. It was a nice set up with the bathrooms in the different locations of the house. Decent spaces for different activities to take place without being on top of each other. However, when we arrived the house had not been cleaned at all. Called the owner and he got a house cleaner over right away to at least change the sheets on the beds. He did offer money back for the inconvenience and it was received. It was in the listing to not go in the garage but that was where the grill was that we could use. The garage was an absolute wreck. There were no kitchen towels anywhere to be found. Very limited supply of cooking utensils and silverware, so if you planning on cooking bring your own pot and pans! The fridge was missing most of the shelves which made it harder to put all our stuff in there. The ice maker wasn’t working. The hot tub had not been cleaned between parties. It was starting to turn green when we left. When you drive in there was an open trailer over flowing with garbage bags. Some had even fallen on the ground and the critters had gotten into them. It also smelled. The yard had been mowed but there had been no weeding done in the flower beds in the front of the house for what loo

Great House

We enjoyed our family vacation at this farm house very much. It's a great place to hang out, reconnect and have some fun together! It was decorated beautifully and had plenty of bedrooms and baths for our family to be comfortable. There were different gathering spaces which was nice due to having a wide range of ages. We also played some outdoor games in the yard. We recommended this house!

Issues

This property has 8 beds, not 8 bed rooms....and 3 full baths, not 5. The worst of the stsy was a sewer smell apparently a plumber had beenworking at the home the day before we arrived. The owner offered us a $100 refund as long as we gave her a good review. Well, that $100 has never been received.
